Message From A.J. Lafaro, Chairman, AZGOP Statewide Voter And PEVL Registration: There have been a lot of questions concerning voter registration and voting in Arizona since the 9th Circuit Court ruled in Gonzales v Arizona that individuals eligible to vote can register using the National Voter Registration Application Form (the Federal Form).  If an individual chooses to use the Federal Form to register to vote, they are not required to provideany additional documentation proving identification.  However, they can if they want to.
If the individual uses the Federal Form, provides the optional documents proving identification and passes the County's intake review and vetting procedures, then they are added to the voter registry and are eligible to request in writing to be added to the Permanent Early Voter List (PEVL).  Remember, a signed written request is required to be added to the PEVL.
If the individual uses the Federal Form, does not provide the optional documents proving identification and passes the intake review and vetting procedures, then they are added to the voter registry, will not be eligible to be added to the PEVL initially and will be required to vote in person their first time at the walk-in sights during early voting (October 11th - November 2nd) or at the polls on the day of the election (November 6th).  They will be required to show proof of identification using the following -
Acceptable forms of identification with photograph, name, and address of the elector
·         Valid Arizona driver license
·         Valid Arizona non-operating identification license
·         Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification
·         Valid United States federal, state, or local government issued identification
·         An identification is "valid" unless it can be determined on its face that it has expired.
·         Acceptable forms of identification without a photograph that bear the name and address of the elector (two required)
·         Utility bill of the elector that is dated within 90 days of the date of the election. A utility bill may be for electric, gas, water, solid waste, sewer, telephone, cellular phone, or cable television
·         Bank or credit union statement that is dated within 90 days of the date of the election
·         Valid Arizona Vehicle Registration
·         Indian census card
·         Property tax statement of the elector's residence
·         Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification
·         Arizona vehicle insurance card
·         Recorder's Certificate
·         Valid United States federal, state, or local government issued identification, including a voter registration card issued by the County Recorder
·         Any mailing to the elector marked "Official Election Material"
·         An identification is "valid" unless it can be determined on its face that it has expired.
·         Acceptable forms of identification, one identification with name and photo of the elector accompanied by one non-photo identification with name and address
