10-31-12 MCRC Briefs

October 31, 2012
Social Media Site Squelches Free Speech To Protect Obama From Benghazi-Gate: This week, Facebook censored the truth. Retired Seal: On Sunday, we here at Special Operations Speaks posted a meme on Facebook. The post simply stated "When Obama Called The Seals, They Got Bin Laden, But When The Seals Called Obama, They Got Denied. "  A few hours after the meme went up, Facebook took it down, claiming that it violated the site's terms of Rights and Responsibilities. - Larry Bailey, Captain (SEAL), USN (Retired), Co-Founder, Special Operations Speaks
As my colleague and Co-Founder of Special Operations Speaks, Colonel Dick Brauer Jr. USAF (Ret)., put it: "Americans across the country deserve the truth about what happened in Libya, and they certainly deserve to know when people who hold the keys to a lot of their online communication are trying to keep that from them,"
"This whole affair has become the poster child for liberal arrogance and incompetence – from the President's complete leadership failure in Libya to the liberal media's desperate efforts to keep this out of the hands of the American people across the spectrum from broadcast news to social media. I hope they'll stop this shameful game and stop sacrificing the truth – and Americans abroad – in the name of politics."

Arizona’s Voter Registration Numbers Surge in Advance of 2012 General Election:
With less than a week to go before the 2012 General Election, Arizona’s Secretary of State Ken Bennett has announced that voter registration has risen to 3,124,712.  An increase of 24,137 registered voters since the 2012 Primary Election in August.  Notably, each of the state’s five recognized parties added to their rolls.
Of the state's 3.1 million voters, 1,120,992 are Republicans and 952,931 are Democrats.  Libertarians make up a little less than one percent of the state’s total registration with 22,086 while 4,863 voters are currently registered as members of the Green Party.  Since joining the state's recognized parties in 2011, the Americans Elect Party has enrolled 237 voters.
For the first time since 1990, registration of Arizona’s “independent” voters, or those who have not designated one of the state’s five recognized parties, has declined to 1,023,603.  A decrease of 2,031.  Declines in active voter registration are commonly attributed to routine list maintenance being performed by county recorders.
The latest voter registration figures compiled by county, congressional district and legislative district are available on or by calling 1-877-THE-VOTE.
Voters should be aware that their ballot must be received by their local county recorder by 7 pm on Election Day – Nov 6.  Secretary of State Ken Bennett recommends early voters return their ballot to any local polling place within their county if they haven’t mailed their early ballot by Thurs, Nov 1.  Ballots received after the deadline will not be counted.
Voters can check the status of their returned early ballot by visiting  Additionally, they can locate their polling place and check their registration by visiting the site which is accessible on most mobile devices and smartphones.
Polls are open from 6 am to 7 pm on Nov 6, 2012.  State law mandates that results will not be announced until 8 p.m.
ASU Young College Republicans will meet at 6 pm tomorrow at SCOB150 to discuss volunteer opportunities, election day, etc.

LD24 Senate Candidate Auggie Bartning released this statement today,“Prop 121 or the “Top Two” does nothing to serve Arizonans, but rather will limit their choices on elections and will limit any chance for third-party success.
