·        Sheriff Joe Responds To Recall Filing: “Just three weeks after I was sworn into office for a sixth term as Maricopa County Sheriff, a group of radical extremists filed a recall campaign to forcibly remove me from office. These left-wing groups of agitators are the same ones who spent millions against me in last year's campaign in an effort to defeat me. Because they didn't like the outcome of that election they are now going to spend millions of dollars to force a recall election this coming fall. So far they have raised over $1.3 million to defeat me!
     “They figure if they can force an election in an off-year they'll be able to turn out every pro-illegal immigrant voter and steal this election. …It's clear that these people will go to any lengths to see me defeated and out of office. They'll resurrect all the lies, distortions and personal attacks from last year's campaign and use them against me this year.

·        Mohave County Board Of Supervisor Buster Johnson Was Named Quadstate Chairman at the Jan 25 quarterly meeting. The Quadstate Coalition encompasses over 50,000 square miles in the Southwest.  Mohave County is the 3rd largest County in the Coalition. The Quadstate Local Governments Authority is a Joint Exercise of Powers Authority established between seven counties in four Western states. Its member counties are Mohave County, Arizona; California's Imperial, Kern and San Bernardino Counties; Lincoln and Nye Counties, Nevada; and Washington County, Utah. The Authority was organized to provide a multi-county voice on federal natural resource management and public lands issues primarily in the Mojave Desert region.

·        Gov Jan Brewer Today Signed Into Law The First Bill Of The 2013 Legislative Session – an emergency appropriation measure that will allow the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) to immediately hire 50 new full-time employees within Child Protective Services (CPS).
·        Hal DeKeyser Is The Newly Appointed Governor’s Senior Writer - a role in which he will utilize his nearly three decades of editorial and journalistic experience as he focuses on speechwriting and public communications. DeKeyser most recently served as Chief of Staff to Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio. He has directed his own media and community relations firm, is a former newspaper publisher, editor, reporter, bureau chief and photographer.

·        Mohave County Board of Supervisor Buster Johnson is a ‘happy camper’  that the Arizona District Court concluding that Mohave County could challenge the efforts of the Obama Administration denying the County the opportunity to defend its environmental and economic interests in Court. In a ruling by Judge Campbell of the Arizona U.S. District Court denying the Department of Interior's efforts to dismiss the case brought by Mohave County together with a coalition of neighboring counties and the town of Fredonia, AZ. ·        Open Letter To the Gov: We missed you at the GOP Statutory Meeting last Saturday.   Additionally, any discussion with the two U.S. Senators who are selling out the legal citizens of this State and Nation is a waste of your breath.  They both swore to uphold our laws now they want to change them to put law breakers in line to receive their reward...U.S. Citizenship.  Are you kidding me?  Are you also going to sell us out?  Remember your oath of defend the Constitution...and remember your promise to the voters during your last campaign.  You hitch hiked on Sen. Pearce’s SB 1070 to get elected and we expect you to honor that commitment.  Remember, there is nothing wrong with our existing laws against illegally entering this country and the lawful immigration policies...Immigration Reform is just another word for Amnesty...pure and simple... and your promise to 'review' this new move is totally unnecessary and smacks of Political-ease. – Wes Harris or   602-432-2871 (cell)
·        Sec. Of State Ken Bennett Today Released Adjusted Campaign Contribution Limits For Use In The 2013 -2014 Election Cycle.  ARS§ 16-905 specifically provides for the contribution limits to be adjusted for inflation by the Secretary of State every two years.  Candidates, campaign committees and election officials use the limits to be in compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes Title 16, Chapter 6 (Campaign Contributions and Expenses).
“As chief elections officer I am required to adjust the campaign contribution limits by the percentage change in the consumer price index biennially,” stated Secretary Bennett.  “Overall, we increased the campaign contribution amount for the 2013-2014 election cycle.  The formula used to make the adjustment includes using the consumer price index for all urban consumers, by U.S. city average, which is published by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics.”
The adjusted campaign contribution limits have been distributed statewide to county recorders, election officials, local city and town clerks as well as to the Citizens Clean Elections Commission. ·        Message from LD13 Chairman Robert Branch: The other night I was watching the interview of Governor Jan Brewer on the Piers Morgan Show.   The interview was to be on immigrations, but it quickly turned to gun control. When did the national dialog switched from the “right to keep and bear arms” to the “right to keep and bear arms for hunting?”  I am extremely alarmed by rhetoric, especially when a non-United States citizen with, a global outreach like Morgan, starts disseminating that rhetoric. Here is the text of the Second Amendment:  A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Where in that amendment does it say “only guns for hunting”? It does not. In fact, in the whole United States Constitution the word “hunting” does not appear anywhere. So why the “hunting” rhetoric from the enemies of the Constitution? It is simple, in order to take away your Constitutional rights the enemies of the Constitution need to make the uneducated (the majority of the people in the United States) believe that the Second Amendment is only there so hunters can have shotguns and bolt action rifles for hunting.
We know the real reason for the Second Amendment for the framers of the Declaration of Independence gave it to us in the introduction to the Declaration of Independence: When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
The Founding Fathers knew that in order to guard and secure a Free State [Free State means the people, not the government] against tyranny, the people would need to be armed. Not the military, but the people. “Rebellion to tyranny is obedience to God.” Thomas Jefferson
Now we are hearing what the majority of the people want so minority of the people will need to relinquish their rights, but please remember that The United States is not a democracy, we are a Republic.  Remember what Thomas Jefferson said about a democracy.“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” Thomas Jefferson
I have taken the following oath many times in my life, and I take that oath as solemn:“I, Robert Branch do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution and laws of the State of Arizona, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same and defend them against all enemies, foreign and domestic,…”
I have guns for hunting, guns for personal protection, and I have guns to “defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution and laws of the State of Arizona against all enemies, foreign and domestic…”  This is not out of hate; I have them for love, for the love this Country and State, and I will die for their preservation.
I take great comfort in knowing that many millions of current and former veterans (and their families) have weapons for I know that they will help us guard The United States against tyranny.I want to leave you with one last quote from the author of our Constitution.“When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty.” ― Thomas Jefferson   I choose Liberty!
