·        SB 1403 - The Anti-Agenda 21 Bill - sponsored by LD22 Sen. Judy Burges -  Will Be Heard At 2 pm, Feb 18 in the Senate Hearing Room 3 at the state capitol.
o   SB1403 summary: United Nations Rio Declaration; prohibition.
o   Purpose: Prohibits this state or political subdivisions of this state from adopting or implementing the United Nations Rio Declaration on Environment and Development.
o   Background: The United Nations Conference on Environmental Development (UNCED), held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, took place in June of 1992 with the participation of 172 governments, including the United States, to address themes related to the environment and sustainable development. The Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development took place in June of 2012 and revisited the issues of the UNCED. There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the state General Fund associated with this legislation.
o   Provisions:
ü  Prohibits this state or political subdivisions of this state from adopting or implementing the United Nations Rio Declaration on Environment and Development or any other international law that contravenes the U.S. Constitution or the Constitution of Arizona.
ü  Prohibits this state or political subdivisions of this state from implementing programs of, expending any sum of money for, being a member of, receiving funding from, contracting services from, or giving financial or other forms of aid to organizations.
ü  Defines political subdivision.
ü  Becomes effective on the general effective date.

This bill will create over 3,700 high-paying jobs, increase U.S. energy and mineral independence, and preserve some of rural Arizona’s most beautiful natural lands. Click HERE to learn more. ·        Ray Spitzer is inviting Arizona residents to join his Letter Writing Campaign to convince Arizona Republic Advertisers into rethinking their advertising budgets.  Spitzer is urging AZ residents to write letters to the CEO’s of Republic advertisers, informing them that they will not do business with a company that advertises in the “propaganda tool of the leftists.” 
“What is important is that these advertisers realize that Arizonans in large numbers are fed up with this leftist rag and they are going to pay a price for giving them money,” Spitzer emphasized in a recent e-mail. ·        The “Stop The Recall” Against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio folks are asking Arpaio supporters to monitor high traffic areas such as libraries or shopping center for people circulating petitions to gather signatures for the recall movement. Stop the Recall folks say you have the right to stand near them and ask any prospective votes not to sign the petitions, but they also caution not to engage in any physical contact with the voter or the circulator.  “Stop the Recall” flyers can be obtained by contacting
·        The City Of Phx Public Works Department Will Host A Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection event for Phoenix customers from 8 am-noon, Feb. 21-23 at Desert West Park, 6602 W. Encanto Blvd.  The HHW events are free for Phoenix solid waste customers. Proof of Phoenix residency is required.  Attendees must bring their current city of Phoenix city services bill showing solid waste fees and a matching photo ID with the same Phoenix address.
Ø  Acceptable HHW materials include:
Ø  Automobile fluids
Ø  Oil-based paints and related materials (10 gallon maximum)
Ø  Pesticides; herbicides; insecticides
Ø  Pool chemicals
Ø  Propane tanks, grill or camp size only
Ø  Car – lead acid batteries
Ø  Car tires – only five per household, no over-sized tires.
Ø  Large appliances – refrigerators; freezers; stoves; dishwashers; washers; dryers
Ø  Air conditioner; heat pumps; water heaters; evaporate coolers
Ø  Electronics – computers; printers; televisions; stereos; DVD players
      No commercial or business loads.
