2-19-13 Briefs

Standing up for America also means standing up for the God who has so blessed this land.  -  Pres. Ronald Reagan
Feb 19, 2013
·        The Deadline Is 5 Pm, Feb. 20 To Make Reservations For The Maricopa County Republicans Lincoln Day Luncheon at the El-Zaribah Shrine Auditoriu, 552 N. 40th St., Phx. Doors open/registration at 11 am. Program at 11:30 am.  Tickets are $30 per person. Call 623-977-4532 to purchase tickets by credit card.
·        A newly formed “Citizens to Protect Fair Election Results (CPFER) will hold a press conference at 2 pm, Feb. 20 at the W Hotel, 7277 E. Camelback, Phx to announce its demand that “Respect Arizona” immediately cease from initiating a recall of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpiao or legal actions will be pursed against Respect Arizona and its officers.
CPFER has hired Larry Klayman, ESQ. the founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch but Klayman will be appearing in his private capacity in this case.  According to CPFER and Klayman, Arpaio is being subjected to an illegal and unconstitutional recall effort in a politically if not criminally motivated attempt to harass and prevent Arpaio from carrying out his duties as the chief law enforcement officer of Maricopa County. Since Arpaio was only recently reelected to a sixth term on November 6, 2012, Respect Arizona’s petition is not only untimely but fails to set forth any valid grounds for a recall so soon after this election.
“If Respect Arizona’s illegal recall effort were to become the norm, then all public officials in the state could be recalled without cause, thus severely harming the electoral system. Even judges could be subject to this sort of harassment. And, at a time of severe fiscal crisis, this illegal recall effort wastes the scarce resources of the taxpayers, the county and the state,” Klayman says.
To learn more about the legal basis of this planned legal action against Respect Arizona and its officers on behalf of the citizens of Maricopa County and the state, media are invited to attend the Press Conference tomorrow.  A copy of CPFER’s legal demand will be made available to the media at the conference. Contact Larry Klayman, Esq. at 623-224-9365.
·        Bills-Target-Public-Sector-Unions … Three bills to restrict unions passed a Senate committee on Monday. Another is scheduled for a House committee vote today. Several other bills are at various stages in the legislative process.
The committee passed: (. Republicans supported.  Democrats opposed.)
Senate Bill 1348, which would prohibit a public employee from doing union activities during paid work time.
SB 1349, which would prohibit outside groups, such as unions, from deducting money from public-employee paychecks unless the employee provides written or electronic permission annually.
SB 1350, which would prohibit any individual who contracts with the state, counties or local governments from being able to strike.
Speaking as a Tempe resident, not as the Maricopa County Republican Chairman A.J. LaFaro spoke in support of the bills. “Unions use release-time hours to affect the outcome of elections in our city elections by having firefighters ... put campaign signs up and campaign for candidates,” LaFaro said. “It is unfair to us as citizens to pay tax dollars for these people to go out there and use these hours against us.”
HB 2343 was heard today in the House Government Committee. It would prohibit a public employer from paying an employee for union activities.
The more bills to be voted on:
SB 1182, sponsored by Sen. Gail Griffin, R-Hereford, is similar to SB 1349 in that it prohibits outside groups from deducting money from public-employee paychecks without annual authorization.
HB 2026, sponsored by Rep. Michelle Ugenti, R-Scottsdale, would require local governments to vote by the end of the year on whether to deduct union dues from employee paychecks.
HB 2330, sponsored by Rep. Steve Montenegro, R-Avondale, requires meetings between unions and a public body to follow the Open Meeting Law unless they are about employment-related matters.
·        Voters Expect Sen. John McCain To Answer Their Questions at the 10 am, Feb 20 Town Hall in the Musical Instrument Museum, 4725 E. Mayo Blvd., Phx. Two questions they want answers to:
ü  Members of the Senate's Gang of 8, including yourself, insist that the recent immigration reform proposal is not amnesty because "illegal aliens would go to the back of the line." Senator, please tell me how illegal aliens end up at "the back of the line" if they would get legal residency and work permits on day one? Wouldn't that put them ahead of the millions of people who are trying to immigrate here legally in order to live a better life?
ü  Senator, the Gang of 8's recent immigration reform proposal would give illegal aliens work permits and legal status on day one. How is this any different from 1986 and what is stopping more illegal crossings if E-Verify is not mandated on day one also?
If you can’t attend the Town  Hall, call McCain’s office at (202) 224-2235;   and express your feelings. NumbersUSA wants your feedback HERE

·        Lyle Rapacki and Heather Gass just completed a tour of Arizona with their presentation exposing UN Agenda 21. Rapacki has asked Ray Spitzer to coordinate an on-going campaign across Arizona to combat Agenda 21 and its efforts to destroy representative form of government. Spitzer can be reached at or 623-334-2325.
·        Yesterday, LD22 Sen. Judy Burges received applause for her SB1403 – Anti Agenda 21 presentation in the Senate hearing room.  Rapacki and Gass are urging conservatives to get behind Burges SB1403 legislation proposal by writing letters to the editor, talk shows, state agencies,  your legislators, and your mayors and city councils.
·        Sen. Judy Burges commentary before the Senate Hearing Committee yesterday: “Good afternoon Madam Chairman and members of the Government and Environment Committee. I am Senator Judy Burges representing District #22, and I appear before you to address a United Nations program that is designed to change our way of life, our heritage, and our liberties as outlined and protected by our precious Constitution. I testify before you against the seductive evils contained in United Nations Agenda for the Twenty-first Century, or more easily stated: Agenda-21.
“It is the duty of a State Legislator (my sworn duty) to always be not only vigilant but suspicious and jealous guardians of the rights of the citizens against encroachments from the federal government; to constantly have their attention awake to the conduct of the national rulers, and to be ready, if anything improper appears, to sound the alarm to the people, and not only to be the VOICE, but, if necessary, the ARM of their discontent!” - Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No.26
“The U. N. Agenda-21 program sounds wonderful on face value – sustainability, social justice, equity for the masses; however, the truth contained within this U.N. program depicts something sinister and dark. The plan calls for government to take control of all land use and not leave any of the decision making in the hands of private property owners. It is assumed by the backers of Agenda-21 that people are not good stewards of their land and the government will do a better job if it is in control. Individual rights are to give way to the needs of the global community as determined by a global governing body – not by local elected representatives like our City Councils, Boards of Supervisors, and even State Legislators.
“Furthermore, the contents of this U.N. program reveal that people should be rounded up off their own land and relocated to human settlements close to employment centers and transportation hubs. Another dimension to this U.N. program named the Wildlands Project, spells out how most of the land in our country, our state, is to be set aside for non-humans. Furthermore, this well-orchestrated agenda calls for lowering the standards of living for Americans so people in poorer countries will have more, we will have less, equality will become the new norm, and the redistribution of wealth will be the vehicle by which equality will be achieved.
“It is time to stop the political correctness that has enveloped our society and bluntly expose the evils contained within this program that already has been launched on an unsuspecting public. It is time for Legislators to step up and be the jealous guardians of the rights of Arizona citizens.
“Allow me to share with you some of the outrageous statements by individuals such as David Foreman, Earth First. “We must make this place an insecure and inhospitable place for Capitalists and their projects, we must reclaim the roads and plowed lands, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers and return to wilderness millions of tens of millions of acres of presently settled land.” Only about 13% of Arizona land is privately owned; 60% already is in the hands of the government, but still this is NOT sufficient to offset the insatiable power grab currently underway by a Global Elite. The outrageous philosophy contained in Agenda-21 will destroy Arizona business, displace Arizona families and control every aspect of our lives as described by Harvey Ruvin, Vice Chairman, of the powerful but not sanctioned governmental body called the International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives, or (ICLEI). This body of non-elected, non-responsive to citizens is tasked with carrying out the goals of U.N. Agenda-21 at the local level. Mr. Ruvin states: “Individual rights will have to take a back seat to the collective.”
“Are you ready to give up your private property? – This my friends is a direct quote from the 1976 UN’s Habitat I Conference report “Land…cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth, therefore contributes to social injustice.”
“I am not the resident expert on U.N. Agenda-21. We have many people who have come forward to speak today that know more than I on this insidious program. Madam Chairman, while not an expert, I am a legislative voice practicing vigilance and jealous guardianship of the rights of the citizens in our Great State of Arizona. I am here today to sound an alarm. I pray this committee, and indeed, our collective Arizona Legislative body joins me to sound the alarm to the people as Alexander Hamilton clearly stated in his Federalist writings.  Thank You!”
