·        Republican Precinct Committeeman “Day At The Capitol to meet Arizona legislators on Feb. 12.  Schedule:

·        The Maricopa County Republican “Lincoln Day Luncheon”  - honoring MCRC precinct committeemen -  will be held Feb. 23 at the El-Zaribah Shrine Auditorium, 552 N. 40th St., Phx. 11 am registration. Program starts at 11:30 am. The Lincoln Bust
and the Reagan Plaque will be awarded to exceptional precinct committeemen, according to County Chairman A J LaFaro. Special guests include Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Congressman Matt Salmon. Tickets are $30 per person. There are 8 seats per table. ·        April Riggins AprilARiggins@gmail.com  and Phil Mason  Gopphil@aol.com  are the c-chairmen of the MCRC Lincoln Day Awards Committee. Diane Douglas and Pat Oldroyd are committee members.  All named recipients selected for the District Certificates of Achievement and Volunteer of the Year Awards must be e-mailed and received by Riggins or Mason by 5 pm, February 11. The use of e-mail is required to be considered. Late submittals will not be considered.
·        The Maricopa County Republican Committee (MCRC) Monthly Board And Executive Guidance Council (EGC) meetings are scheduled for Thursday, Feb 7 at 6:30pm and 7pm respectfully.
The MCRC Monthly Board Meeting is always held in closed Executive Session.  Please note the Feb 7 MCRC EGC meeting will also be held in closed executive session due to the confidential nature of the brainstorming and working session to develop the MCRC's Two Year Strategic Plan and Budget.  Only the members of the MCRC EGC will be authorized to attend - LD Chairmen, Executive Committee, Members-At-Large, and Non-Voting Members Frosty Taylor (Communications) & Diana Duran (West Valley Office Manager).
All future meetings, that aren't held in closed Executive Session, will only be open to members of the MCRC EGC, verified registered Precinct Committeemen, verified registered Arizona Republicans, and authorized scheduled speakers.  MCRC Chairman A J LaFaro
·        The Arizona Citizens Defense League( AzCDL) Could Use A Little Help getting several firearms related bills heard (that are currently sitting in committee). While firearms related bills are normally assigned to the House Judiciary Committee, this year a number of bills have also or alternatively been assigned to the House Public Safety, Military and Regulatory Affairs (PSMRA) Committee.  The bills that have not yet been heard are:
    HB 2234 - An AzCDL-requested bill that would standardize the definition of firearms in ARS 13-105 and remove duplicate and/or conflicting definitions in other statutes.
    HB 2432 - Would create a Citizens Marksmanship fund to provide firearms for the training of citizens who are eligible for service in the Arizona Guard.
    HB 2433 - Would eliminate the age cap (currently 45 years old) on who is a member of the state militia, and instead make it all able-bodied adult citizens capable of bearing arms.
    HB 2455 - An AzCDL requested bill that would clarify that even firearms that are voluntarily surrendered to a state or local entity (e.g. via a "buy back" program) cannot be destroyed and must be sold.
   HB 2468 - Would allow for reduced hunting license fee for members of the military and veterans.

·        A self-styled Phoenix pastor and his wife who gained notoriety in 2012 for a well-publicized zoning battle involving the home-based location for their religious services, have been sentenced along with the man’s brother for offenses related to AHCCCS fraud, Attorney General Tom Horne announced today.
