·        In memoriam: James Michael Bearup 1984 – 2013

·        Condolence to the family of James Bearup, a veteran and former LD15 House candidate.
·        Senator McCain: It Has Been Reported That On A Recent Edition Of "Face The Nation," you expressed bewilderment over the proposed filibuster by Senators Paul, Cruz and Lee over Harry Reid’s gun control legislation. “I don’t understand it,” you said. “The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”
    Allow me to explain a part of the US Constitution to you sir that you may not have understood.
    There is nothing to debate.
    The Second Amendment of the Constitution is crystal clear, "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED."
    Every single provision of Reid's bill constitutes an infringement on a God-given right.
    To filibuster an attempt to undermine the supreme law of this land is good, proper and just.
    It is apparent where you stand on the Second Amendment and it is squarely against the Constitution.
    I ask you to change course and follow the Constitution and do not allow the progressives in the US Senate to "INFRINGE" upon our God given rights. - The Honorable Elbert and Cindy Bicknell, Surprise AZ  (Bicknell is a veteran, retired law enforcement officer, former New Hampshire legislator, past chairman of the Maricopa County Health District, and a current AZ Precinct Committeeman.)
·        A Senate Committee On Government And The Environment Hearing is scheduled from 9 am until noon, for April 11 Hearing Room #3 in the Arizona Senate. Some of the focus will also be on the costs incurred and the negative impact on cities and towns and county’s by the actions associated with Agenda-21 and the EPA who is part of the enforcement arm to carry-out Agenda-21 policy. RSVP to PJ O’Malley from the “Alliance for Sustainable Freedom” group at e-mail or by phone at (480) 325-0646.

·        Contact Senators McCain And Flake Today! On March 21, Sen Harry Reid (D-NV) introduced Senate Bill 649 (S. 649) under the deliberately misleading title of the “Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013,” and is attempting to bring it to the Senate floor for a vote as quickly as possible. By all accounts, he has also promised Sen Diane Feinstein (D-CA) a vote on her proposed ban on semi-automatic firearms and standard capacity magazines as an amendment to S. 649.
The true subject of S. 649 is the requirement to report all firearms transfers to the federal government via “universal background checks.” In reality S. 649 is proposing the universal registration of all firearms and their owners. As history has repeatedly shown us, and is currently being demonstrated in New York, registration is the prelude to confiscation.
While the proposed legislation contains limited exceptions for transfers, such as between family members, a little digging shows that you would be committing a federal felony if you:
ü  Leave town for more than 7 days, and leave someone else at home with your firearms;
ü  Lend a firearm to a friend to take shooting or to go hunting;
ü  Loan a firearm to a family member if they live at a different residence;
ü  Hand a firearm to someone at a gun club which is not a shooting range;
ü  Teach someone to shoot on your own land, if you hand them the firearm; or
ü  Fail to report a firearm as lost or stolen within 24 hours.
S. 649 is unacceptable in any form and compromise is not an option. This bill must be stopped!
The passage of S. 649 will only be possible if enough Republicans sell out and vote in favor of a proposed “Motion to Proceed”, ending a filibuster that 14 Senators have already committed to.
While AzCDL’s focus is primarily on Arizona legislation, we have joined with over 38 state and national organization to form a coalition to defeat the Obama Administration’s “gun control” proposals. As with local legislation, how effective we are depends on your involvement.
It is critical that you contact Arizona Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake and let them know you expect them to work to defeat S. 649. Regardless of how you think they might vote, they need to hear from you loud and clear. Being silent and not contacting them is the same as saying you don’t care how they vote, and possibly that you even support the passage of S. 649.
A letter has been prepared for you to send at AzCDL’s Legislative Action Center. You can send the message we have prepared or edit what is there. It only takes a couple of mouse clicks to make your voice heard. – This alert is a project  of the Arizona Citizens Defense League (AzCDL), an all volunteer, non-profit, non-partisan grassroots organization.

·        In One Of Congressman David Schweikert’s Fundraiser Messages he alerts us of the new Obama “Organizing for Action” (OFA)   … “OFA is President Obama’s latest effort to turn his presidential campaign infrastructure into a massive political operation to force his radical leftist agenda down the throats of the American people.But here’s the sneaky part the mainstream media isn’t reporting on. Organizing for Action claims to be a NON-PARTISAN entity. Of course, this is laughable. Just last month, President Obama offered a private meeting to anyone who donated $500,000 to Organizing for America.It is clear there is nothing non-partisan about Obama’s new campaign machine.:
