April 7, 2013
·        Thoughts of a Young Republican:  Republican Politics as Usual - After his disappointing loss in 2008 candidate John McCain attributed his defeat to the superior "ground game" of then candidate Obama. While defeated, we learned a valuable lesson for future elections.
Upon his loss in 2012 candidate Mitt Romney excused his loss to, wait for it, the superior "ground game" of incumbant Obama. You have got to be kidding me!
The 2014 elections are 20 months away. Campaigner in Chief Obama is out doing what he does best.  He has set up a campaign committee that is out pounding the pavement, working the streets.  While he is not eligible for a 3rd term (at least not at this time), there is nothing he would like better than to have full control of both the House and Senate to push forward his full agenda--fundamentally changing our Country--forever.
Where are the Republicans? Unless you watch Fox News you don't have a clue. And if you do, you hear the same old song and dance--smaller government/lower taxes. What's missing is the explanation of HOW that will help the millions of Americans that are just trying to make it another day.  Today's fears are very real while the promise of a better tomorrow is not very believable considering the lack of backbone in Washington.
Speaking of lacking backbone, consider this:
1.  From 1995-2001 the Republicans controlled both the House and Senate.
2.  2001-2003 the Republicans held the House and the White House.
3.  2003-2007 the Republicans held all 3 branches of government.
Of course the point is that the Republicans had plenty of opportunity to put their vision in to law--and failed miserably.
Obviously we need to get a strong ground game going-immediately. We need to be precise in our explanation to the American People what we value --and exactly how our ideas will help the folks right now. Should we be lucky enough to gain their vote, their trust, we need to follow through with action, no longer just empty words.
In these very trying times the Democrats are at least offering band aids to the hurting folks, while the Republicans offer salt to our wounds. It is time for a change--now and forever. It's not too late--there is a Republican solution to today's issues which is...

·        Dear Senate President, Speaker Of The House And Other Honorable Elected Representatives: For far too long the State Legislature has abdicated its fiscal and moral responsibilities over our public education entities, especially those in the higher education area like ASU, U of A, and Northern Arizona University.  You have taken a 'hands off' approach and allowed the Board of Regents to hire people at incredible salaries upwards to two times what the President of the United States draws and seven times what our own Governor draws with total impunity.  Additionally you have turned a blind eye to the absurd policies espoused by these same "Presidents" and their development of programs of indoctrination not 'education' as evidenced by the following comments by the President of ASU...Michael Crow.  This is liberal and subversive gibberish and is firmly rooted in the United Nation's Agenda 21 and a One World Order. In addition, while you have held the line on University Funding, you have allowed these same people to raise tuition rates far outstripping inflation factors in any other segment of our economy.  As our elected representatives, it is your duty to control areas such as these where voters have no other recourse due to the 'appointment' provisions in their hierarchy as opposed to an 'elected' body.  Please read Mr. Crow's comments (ASI Strategic Plan for Sustainability Practices & Operations)  and see if you do not agree with this assessment.  Wes Harris,  602-432-2871 © or
