·       What Would You Like To Ask Your AZ Congressman At A Townhall.  Send questions:
·      Questions received for our Congressmen/women:
ü  There are many questions I could ask, but the most important to me by far is what are we Republicans doing or planning to do to stem Obama, Holder and liberal infringements on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  They seem to be doing it on a wholesale basis and we just appear to just be rolling over.  The only thing this administration understands is “hardball”.
ü  Finally, Reince Pribus stepped up last week to announce repercussions to CNN and NBC if they air the Clinton promotion, but that’s about it.  All we seem to be getting out of the House hearings is a finger in the eye.  Talk is cheap.  We need to DO SOMETHING… make them pay a price, take legal action, impeach somebody!  Waiting for the next election is NOT GOING TO HACK THE PROGRAM.

·       Overall Crime In Mesa, Arizona Is Down A Staggering 43% In Just A Few Years.  Is this because of SB 1070 and the Employer Sanctions Law? By Randy Hatch
Do you know how difficult it is for politicians to give proper credit to the people or laws they were originally opposed to?  It is something you'll never hear and so I'll try to do it for them, at least on this one issue.
In early 2008, Arizona began to enforce the first Employer Sanctions law in the country.  Many other states followed our lead after this bill was passed.  This law made it difficult for illegal aliens to obtain permanent and full-time work in Arizona.  This bill was sponsored by then State Representative Russell Pearce.  Many illegal aliens left the state of Arizona that year for other states that provided Sanctuary status for them and made obtaining work easier.  Sanctuary states and cities also make it much easier for alien criminals to set up shop.
Later in 2010, Pearce sponsored and passed into law SB1070.  The intent of the law was to enforce federal immigration laws of our country because the federal government wasn't doing it.  Once again after the law passed, Arizona saw a mass exodus of illegal aliens from the state.  Mesa was one of the greatest beneficiaries of SB1070 because the city had previously become known unofficially as a sanctuary city for criminal illegal aliens.
Prior to the Employer Sanctions law passing in 2008 and SB1070 passing in 2010, Mesa had many home invasions, car thefts, burglaries, assaults and more.  At one point Arizona led the country in some of these crime categories.  I know because I and many others were victims of such crime over the last couple of decades.
Another fact overlooked by many is that Mesa School District's annual enrollment began to go down substantially over the last 5+ years and most of the decrease has come from the children of illegal aliens.  The cost to educate children of illegal aliens has proven to be at least double that of citizens.
Millions in taxpayers money is used every year to educate, medicate and incarcerate illegal aliens.  Many of those tax dollars have now been saved because of these two laws crafted and sponsored by Russell Pearce.
The largest drop in crime Mesa has ever seen is probably confusing to the Mayor and Police Chief even as Mesa's population continues to grow.  To those of us who follow the state legislature and immigration laws, it comes as no surprise that the last 5+ years have seen this historic drop in crime.
Does Arizona still have a problem with illegal aliens?  Yes, but because of former State Senator Russell Pearce and good police work, we can all sleep a little easier at night.
Thank you Russell Pearce. – Randy Hatch    Maria Poletta article  Arizona Republic Here:  mesa-sees-crime-dip-past-years

Subject: Reconsideration for Major Disaster Declaration for Yarnell Hill Fire
Dear Mr. President:
We send this letter as a formal request for you to reconsider Arizona’s bid for a Major Disaster Declaration due to the deadly blaze near Yarnell. The original request was made on July 9th, 2013 with additional materials provided on July 12th, 2013. It is our belief that the State of Arizona has provided sufficient qualifying information to demonstrate the significant magnitude of damages and trauma the people of Yarnell, Yavapai County and the State of Arizona have and will experience for years to come due to the Yarnell Hill Fire.
According to the joint State-Federal preliminary damage assessment, more than 8,000 acres were consumed by fire, 109 homes were destroyed, 2 homes sustained major damage and 21 homes experienced minor damage. This equates to a loss of 20% of the homes in Yarnell and an estimated $6,800,000 in damage to the small rural community. Yarnell has unique considerations to take into account including the fact that 35% of the population is above the age of 65 and an estimated 28% of the population is at or below the Federal poverty level. Because of those factors, it will be extremely difficult for these populations to recover and rebuild without federal assistance.
In addition to the devastating impacts on the residents and businesses of the town of Yarnell, the State of Arizona suffered it’s most tragic loss in wildfire history - the deaths of 19 wild land firefighters. This tragedy is extremely distressing to the residents of Yarnell, Yavapai County and the entire state.  These 19 men bravely served their communities and will never be forgotten.
In the days after the fire, Mr. President, you offered and pledged to support our state during its time of great need. In addition, Vice President Joe Biden reiterated your commitment at the memorial service for the Granite Mountain Hotshots. We fully expect that you will honor your commitments and help the most deserving and distressed residents of Yarnell.
We encourage you, Mr. President, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to reconsider Arizona’s requests for a Major Disaster Declaration. Please act quickly to provide supplementary federal assistance from the Individuals Assistance Program and Disaster Case Management Services for Yavapai County in response to the significant loss of residential structures in Yarnell and the Burned Area Emergency Response program for the Yarnell Hill Fire burn area.  -  Speaker Andy Tobin, AZ House of Representatives and Minority Leader Chad Campbell, AZ House of Representatives
