·        The Arizona Army National Guard Will Conduct The Change Of Command for Arizona Garrison Training Centers from Lt. Col. Dale Oldham to Lt. Col. Kim Gage at Camp Navajo Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. Brig. Gen. Alberto Gonzalez will be the presiding officer and will transfer command over to Gage.

·        LD16 Precinct Committeeman Kevin Thompson Is A Candidate For Mesa City Council District 6 (Power Road to Meridian, Broadway to Germann). The largest district in Mesa, it encompasses Phoenix Mesa Gateway as well as Eastmark.  Thompson served in the US Air Force and fought during Operation Desert Storm.  He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nevada. He has been employed at SouthWest Gas for the past 15 years – currently in corporate public affairs. Thompson and his wife have been married for 25 years and have two children. They have lived in Mesa for 11 years where he is a graduate Graduate (2012) Mesa Leadership Training and Development Program.  He has also served on the:

·     CD4: DID YOU KNOW?  The London Bridge now located in Lake Havasu City was purchased for $2,460,000 by Robert P. McCulloch. It opened in 1971, according to Congressman Paul Gosar.
·   The GOP Is The Largest Party In Arizona with 1.1 million voters representing over 35% of the electorate, and Republicans currently hold every statewide elected office and majorities in the both chambers of the state legislature, according to AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham.
·    A New PC Training And Coordination Center For East Maricopa County URAPC petition drive will be open from 6:30-8:30 Wednesdays through Sept 4 at the Community room in the City of Mesa Utilities Building,  640 N Mesa Drive, Mesa, AZ 85201  This training center is mostly for GOP PC training, turning in petitions for notary processing, petition inspection, supplies and tracking for east Maricopa County.

·    The Arizona Dept of Veterans Services and Phoenix VA Health Care System are sponsoring an all-day Arizona Military/Veterans Womens’ Health & Knowledge Fair starting at 7 am, Aug 17 at the Phx VA Medical Center and other centers throughout the state. According to Ted Vogt, Director of the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services, there are thousands of women on Active Duty who enlisted from or reside in the State of Arizona.  In addition, there are more than 58,000 women Veterans who now live in Arizona. The  Fair will focus on health services, skill building, benefits, resources, and will include community service providers to direct support and services to Arizona military and Veteran women.
