·       The Russell Pearce Show Will Officially Launch On 960am The Patriot From 7-8 pm Saturdays featuring weekly guests and taking calls at (602) 508-0960. “I am thrilled to once again bring a strong conservative voice to Arizona’s airwaves,” said Pearce. “And I’m excited to continue being a thorn in the side of liberals who think America’s best days are long gone. They’re wrong. Our nation is worth fighting for and Arizona conservatives are proof.” Pearce will continue his state and national speaking engagements and will soon launch a corresponding website, Facebook and Twitter page. “The looney left will try to lie, cheat and steal to keep what power they’ve got,” Pearce said. “What I want to do, what my show is all about, is getting people motivated, energized and excited about America again. Let the liberals whine and cry. We’ve got real work to do, so tune in, call in, and let’s make our voices heard.” Pearce served in the Arizona legislature for 11years and State Senate president in 2011. Sen. Pearce is widely regarded as the dean of Arizona’s legislative conservatives and today maintains a close watch over the state capitol. He authored/sponsored Arizona’s SB 1070, as well as the Arizona Fair and Legal Workers Act, Prop. 200 requiring proof of citizenship to vote, a constitutional amendment making English Arizona’s official language, Arizona’s Freedom to Carry Act, and numerous key laws and initiatives. Pearce served in several positions in state government, prior to which he served in Arizona law enforcement for 23 years, and as Sheriff Arpaio’s Chief Deputy. His previous radio show Conservatives Lead was a top-rated call-in program in Arizona for more than a year.

·       Congressman Matt Salmon, chairman of the subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs issued the following statements regarding President Obama’s and President Castro’s public handshake in South Africa:  “President Obama's handshake with Cuban dictator, Raul Castro, represents the first time in over 13 years a U.S. President has publically greeted a dictator of Cuba.  It was an insult to the people of Cuba who are denied liberty and oppressed daily by the Cuban dictator.  The White House claiming that the handshake was not planned further demonstrates the administration's lack of a coherent and focused foreign policy. America has always been the beacon of hope for people who live under oppressive regimes, and the oppressed have always looked to the President of the United States to advocate for their freedom around the world.  President Obama failed the people of Cuba with this very public handshake.”
