·       Former AZ Gov. Fife Symington: “I was deeply disappointed to see the Arizona Republican Party’s agenda seized this weekend by an effort by a small group of longtime critics of Senator John McCain to pass a resolution that in no way reflects the views of the majority of Arizona Republicans. It was an embarrassing episode for our state and party. Particularly outrageous was the language in the resolution accusing Senator McCain of supporting funding for Obamacare – that is just a flat-out lie. No one fought harder against Obamacare on the floor of the U.S. Senate in 2009 and across the country in the 2010 and 2012 elections than John McCain. Even worse than passing a wrongheaded resolution based on long-held personal grievances is doing so in a deliberately dishonest manner. For more than 30 years, John McCain has worked hard on behalf of the people of Arizona, establishing a record judged strong by conservative groups across the country and by Arizona Republicans who’ve overwhelmingly elected and reelected him seven times. We’re a better, safer state and nation because of John McCain’s service, and we thank him for it.” – Former Arizona Governor Fife Symington
