·       Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Frank Riggs:  response to remarks attributed to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) at a March meeting of the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which Feinstein is a senior member. "Senator Feinstein's disrespectful suggestion that veterans should be checked for post-traumatic stress or some other mental disorder before they can own a semi-automatic firearm is an insult to our country's military veterans," said Riggs, a veteran himself of the U.S. Army. "I don't know what's worse: Feinstein's contempt of veterans or her continued attempts to limit, if not eviscerate altogether, the constitutional rights of law abiding gun owners.  The bitter irony of Feinstein's remarks is that so many Americans who have served in the military have given their lives to protect our constitutional freedoms and individual liberties like the 2nd Amendment." Riggs concluded, "I served in Congress from the same state as Sen. Feinstein and constantly fought her attempts to expand the power, size, scope and reach of the federal government.  Her comments reflect the same mindset that candidate Barrack Obama expressed in San Francisco, Feinstein's home town, mocking Americans for 'clinging to their guns and religion.'  Intellectual elites like Dianne Feinstein may disdain and distrust veterans but public opinion surveys consistently show that Americans have the highest admiration for all-volunteer military, which also happens to be the best firearms training institution in the world."

Brewer signed this bill into law on Fri, April 11.

·        HCR 2005, sponsored by Rep Phil Lovas, will allow Arizona voters to determine on the November 2014 ballot whether terminally ill patients can have access to investigational medical products that may save their lives. ·       HB 2139, sponsored by Rep. Warren Petersen, would expand the eligibility pool for Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Accounts to include the siblings of current or former recipients of the scholarship.

·       HB 2150, sponsored by Rep. Sonny Borrelli, would allow the children of fallen members of our armed forces to access the Empowerment Scholarship Account program.

·       HB 2260, sponsored by Rep. Tom Forese, would establish a Small Business Bill of Rights to protect business owners from being bullied by overly aggressive regulatory agencies.

·       HB 2367, sponsored by Speaker Andy Tobin, would require the director of Arizona’s Medicaid program to request annual waivers from the federal government — including a limit on the amount of total time an able-bodied adult can stay in the system.

·       HB 2508, sponsored by Rep. Phil Lovas, would ensure that those seeking to be Obamacare “navigators” are properly vetted and undergo criminal background checks before they are allowed access to personal information about Arizona health care consumers.

·       SB 1048, sponsored by Sen. Steve Yarbrough, would establish an individual income tax credit for the pro-rata amount of contributions businesses make to student tuition organizations (STOs).  This would be a major boon to the school choice movement and allow make it easier for businesses to support student scholarships.
