·       Maricopa County Elections Is In Need Of Republican Election Board Workers for the August 26, 2014, Primary Election AND the November 4, 2014, General Election. The deadline to apply is Monday, June 30, 2014.  The fastest and most efficient way to apply is to click on the link below and apply online. Maricopa County Elections has implemented a new policy this election cycle where they will be hiring via e-mail and telephone on a first come first serve basis - not by "seniority".  Several things are accomplished by working the polls the day of the election:
1.  you are able to help make the day of the election run efficiently
2.  you are able to monitor the polls where we have Election Board Workers
(we really need Republican Election Board Workers at every polling location)
3.  you are able to make a $100 or more for your efforts, and most of all
4.  you are able to help prevent any possible voter fraud.
I encourage as many Republican Precinct Committeemen and registered Republican
voters to apply as soon as possible. -   A. J. LaFaro, Chairman, Maricopa County Republican Committee

·       Frustrated With The Lack Of White House Action In Retrieving Sgt Andrew Tahmooressi from a Mexican jail, American Military News has created a petition to add to the pressure to get him released. Marine Stuck In Mexican Jail Needs Our Help

·        Congressman Trent Franks: Obama “Most Inept President We’ve Ever Had” -- Franks, a ranking Republican Member of the House Armed Services Committee, spoke to Eric Shawn on Fox News this weekend about the rampage of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) across Iraq. Franks criticized the Obama Administration for failing to listen to the generals who warned that a failure to secure a Status of Forces Agreement would lead to the sort of scenario currently unfolding, stating that the Administration has a “magic ability…to get it wrong every time,” and that the notion of “ignoring the danger of this jihadist ideology has bewildered our friends and emboldened our enemies and it’s left suffering and death in the wake every time.”

·       CD2 Candidate Chuck Wooten will address the Northern Cochise County Republican Club At 6 Pm, Tues., June 24 at the Holiday Inn Express in Willcox.

·       The Mississippi GOP Senate Race Ran Hot And Heavy over this past week as Sen. John McCain stumped for GOP establishment incumbent Thad Cochran who strongly opposed McCain in the 2008 primary with the comment, "The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He is erratic. He is hot-headed. He loses his temper and he worries me."   See mccain-campaigning-thad-cochran-mississippi     Cochran’s Tea- Party conservative challenger  Chris McDaniel writes:  “When you total up the amount of time that Cochran and McCain have been in the Senate, you get 62 years. They've been in Washington for a combined 72 years. That's a long time, and a long list of appropriations. McCain is the perfect example of an establishment Republican. He voted to fund Obamacare, and he won’t rest until he finds a way to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants. His liberal stances might work in Arizona, but he does not lineup with Mississippi. As a candidate for President, Sen. McCain made famous Alaska's "Bridge to Nowhere." This wasteful pork project cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and my opponent Thad Cochran supported it. This is pretty simple: if you think we should keep the same guys in office that supported these outrageous spending sprees, then listen to John McCain and support Thad Cochran.”

·       Two-Sides To AZ Wolf Controversy --Arizona Sportsman For Wildlife Conservation: If you missed it a few weeks ago, the AZ Republic once again gave Sandy Bahr the bully pulpit and she trashed the AZ Game & Fish Department, Commission and Sportsmen for supporting what she is calling the "extinction" plan for the Mexican wolf.  If you didn't see it, click here to read her opinion. We sent in a rebuttal to Bahr's blast last week, and have been advised the Republic will not be printing it. Click here to read the rebuttal. Finally a survey cited by Bahr on a number of occasions has been exposed for what it is - click here to read John Koleszar's excellent synopsis on her claim that "More than 70% of Arizonans want more wolves".  In the meantime, since Arizona's newspapers don't like to print our side of the story, we need to pass the word on ourselves. Forward this note to your friends and organizations, to help us counter the "enviro speak"  --  Jim Unmacht,  President  Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife Conservation

·       Congressman Trent Franks, Missile Defense Caucus Co-Chair: "I want to congratulate Vice Admiral James Syring on the Missile Defense Agency's successful GMD test today.  I hope the system’s demonstrated ability to successfully effect its mission will silence the program’s detractors and keep the system’s additional 14 interceptors on schedule. During the last 5 years missile threats to America have steadily and significantly increased, yet President Obama has cut funding for our missile defenses every year he has been in office.  Despite the administration’s negligence, Admiral Syring and the GMD contractor team pulled off a successful threat-representative test and proved, once again, that this system works and is capable of protecting the American people from a long range ICBM.  Our Ground Based Midcourse Defense is the only missile defense system America has in place that defends the American people from long-range nuclear missiles, including potential ballistic missiles from Iran, North Korea, or other rogue states.  We will continue to fight to ensure that GMD remains funded at the appropriate levels and that the Missile Defense Agency has the support of Congress it needs to complete its mission.”

·       Candidate Yard Signs In Your Neighborhood Are Legal.  The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees your right to free speech, and state law supports homeowners' rights to display political yard signs during election season -- despite HOA rules which may try to restrict your rights. Details on the law are here (toward the end of the document) and it's clear that an HOA cannot enforce sign regulations that are more restrictive than those of the city, town or county. If you are living in an HOA and run into this situation, please visit our Facebook page and tell your side of the story.  AZGOP newsletter.

·       LD 15 PC Johanna Haver Is A Candidate For The Maricopa County Community College Board - District 3.  Haver is a former Arizona teacher with 32 years experience in grades 4-12 and at the university level. She has written two books on education, most recently English for the Children: Mandated by the People, Skewed by Politicians and Special Interests (Rowman & Littlefield, 2013), and more than 75 columns for the Arizona Republic.  She has been a member of several Arizona Department of Education committees and task forces from 1998 to 2013.  She wants to cut tuition by avoiding and eliminating wasteful spending, such as the millions of dollars now being spent to correct a security breach that went unheeded when employees first reported it in 2011.  She would bring an end to board members’ costly trips at taxpayers’ expense, such as to D.C. in February to meet with Arizona congressmen who would gladly have met with them at their local offices.  Contact Haver at or 480-361-1229.

·       State Senator Al Melvin’s Withdraws From Governor’s Race: Citing his campaign’s pace in collecting $5 contributions, and certain that Clean Elections funding would not be received in time for early balloting, Melvin has formally withdrawn from the Governor’s race.  “I had planned on having more time to decide my campaign’s future, but I was alerted by the Secretary of State’s office that while Maricopa County’s deadline to withdraw was June 27, the remaining counties had their own early deadline and a decision had to be made by today.  After prayerful consideration, I filed the necessary documents with the Secretary of State’s office to formally withdraw. This was a difficult decision but one that I am at peace with.  It was difficult because I believe so passionately about the principles we were campaigning for and because, as other candidates can attest to, you feel a tremendous responsibility to not let down your supporters and all those who have contributed time and treasure to the effort.  At the same time, I am at peace with the decision because in spite of our efforts we were not going to be able to win the race, and no one who believes in our shared conservative values wants to see conservatives split the vote and allow a liberal to claim our party’s nomination. Our cause is more important than any one person.  For that reason it is time to end this particular campaign.  But this is not the end of our fight for secure borders, high Arizona education standards instead of Common Core, tax relief, Texas-style Tort Reform, Universal School Vouchers, an energy policy that addresses Arizona’s long-term needs and economic health, and more.  I look forward to seeing everyone on the campaign trail soon, and for years to come.”

·       Gubernatorial Candidate Frank Riggs:  “As the only candidate for Governor with both military and civilian law enforcement experience, I've promised to provide the resources that law enforcement and county sheriffs need to respond to border-related crime.  I reiterated my commitment during a meeting with Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels in Sierra Vista last week.  He was very informative and candid about the impacts of the Obama Administration's amnesty policies and failure to secure the border.  As a former Congressman, I'll use my experience to coordinate a federal and state government response to the needs of our border counties and local law enforcement agencies and finally secure the Tucson Sector of the border, including the 83 miles of international border that Cochise County shares with Mexico. I've been on the front lines as a military policeman, military police investigator and military police supervisor in the Army, and as a police officer and deputy sheriff.  As a Congressman, I helped secure funding to build the double fence along the California border with Mexico and the Yuma Sector of our border.  And I received an "A" grade for my congressional voting record from the two million member "Numbers USA" immigration reduction organization opposed to all amnesty measures.  They scored 11 key votes that I cast as a member of Congress and gave me an "A+" for my votes to reduce chain migration; reduce refugee and asylum fraud; reduce amnesty entitlements; reduce anchor baby citizenship; reduce illegal immigration rewards; and reduce illegal immigration at borders. (votingrecord)

·       Attorney General Candidate Mark Brnovich: Early balloting begins in just a little over a month. All recent polling shows me ahead of my primary challenger and my Democratic opponent's campaign has recently begun attacking me in fundraiser email pitches and in the local media. Why are they doing this? Because they know that we will win the Republican primary for Attorney General in August and that I stand poised to win the general election this November - with your help.I am running for Attorney General because integrity must be restored to the office. I am running for Attorney General because I have the experience to achieve real results and a track record of working for all Arizonans. This election isn't about right or left, it's about right and wrong.  See video which explains a little bit more about who I am and why I'd like to be your next Attorney General.

·        Gubernatorial Candidate Christine Jones: Securing the border is critical to the future of Arizona, and I’m proud to announce that today I officially released my border security plan. Specifically, the Jones Plan employs a three-pronged approach to securing our border: technology, troops, and physical barriers. As Arizona’s next Governor, I will deploy 1,200 Arizona National Guard soldiers to the border and earmark direct funding to Arizona’s County Sheriffs, County Attorneys and the Arizona Attorney General to aggressively prosecute border related crimes. I will utilize readily available technology to ascertain who is crossing our border, and I will finish the fence in strategic areas. It’s time we take control. Arizona must be widely known as the Zero Tolerance State. I want to have an immigration task force in Arizona that is so imposing that would-be illegal immigrants and drug cartels think twice about where they attempt to cross. Under a Jones Administration, Arizona will be so formidable that we are no longer a viable option for such criminal activity. I give you my word that, as Governor, I will be relentless in my efforts to fully and finally secure our border. I invite you to read my plan in its entirety at
