·       MCRC Chairman A J LaFaro: There has been some discussion as to what occurred at the AZGOP ExComm Meeting on June 21st.  What I remember was:

·       Robert Graham first informed the attendees around 10:10 am that he had invited Sen John McCain to speak to the group.

·       McCain started speaking around 10:30 am and didn't finish until almost 12 pm. McCain was arrogant, rude, condescending and wasn’t truthful when answering some of the questions.  For ex: When someone asked McCain why he supports terrorist groups like the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIS and other like  terrorist organizations; he flat out said they were quite mistaken – that he had never associated with them.  See links

·       McCain-Rejects-Report-Claiming-Syrian-Rebels-Are-Largely-Jihadis

·       McCain And The Muslim Brotherhood

·       McCain And Syria Rebels

·       That was the first time I had ever been in the same room with McCain - and it will be my last.  Shame on the AZGOP ExComm attendees for not walking out on McCain at our June 21st meeting.

·       As for the reported "standing ovation" for McCain, most of us where glad he was finished pontificating and where anxious to break for lunch.

·       House Majority Leader David Gowan: After visiting the Nogales processing center, housing nearly 1,000 unaccompanied children, House Majority Leader David Gowan said he was sadden by the magnitude of the humanitarian crisis, but more certain than ever that fixing the problem at the southwestern border will require significantly more resources from the federal government as well as coordination from our southern neighbors. “These were just kids, some so very young,” said Gowan. “It truly breaks my heart to see them in this situation.” Gowan added that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is to be commended for keeping the children sheltered with plenty of food, games and TV, and more importantly, out of harm’s way. “After this crisis has passed, we need to focus on a long term solution to the problem of illegal immigration,” Gowan said. “Securing the southwestern border and dramatically improving the time it takes to process individuals who are apprehended has to be foremost in the plan.” In the meantime, Gowan said, “We’re paying it forward by taking care of these kids”  At the same time, elected officials must work toward a plan that addresses both push factors in El Salvador and Honduras as well as pull factors, like the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals that serves no one but human traffickers and organized criminals, added Gowan.

·       Author And Former LD9 Chairman Ray Spitzer: Since the Supreme Court ruled in the Hobby Lobby case, the rhetoric about the decision has been deafening, and mostly false. Evidently, the left believes that women are incapable of providing their own contraceptive care without the government.  What does that say about what the left thinks of women? The truth is that Hobby Lobby has been paying for 16 of the 20 contraceptive products for years for their employees, without complaint from the employees (and there is no co-pay).  Their objection was that the government has no right to mandate that a private business pay for all 20 contraceptive products.  Hobby Lobby, on religious grounds, maintains that the four products not covered by their health plan are products designed to end a pregnancy which violates their faith.  Any woman who wants one of those products can certainly go buy it themselves, at a very low cost.  So, put that "denied access" business to rest.  But, the left says that the company should pay for it, not the individual woman.  It would seem that the left doesn't think too highly of women, deciding that women have to be taken care of because they're incapable of taking care of themselves.  Pretty condescending, isn't it? And two final points:  1-Hobby Lobby starts all employees at twice the minimum wage and, 2-what right does the federal government have to tell private businesses what they must provide to their employees?  Contact: 623-334-2325

We are so proud of our final numbers for the quarter which will make sure our opponent knows: This is a winning campaign. As always, I am in awe of your generosity and steadfast support. I could not make this journey without you and the backing of our community. I am thankful for your help and friendship. I continue to hear from voters across the district about their frustrations with the status quo. They are looking for real change in Washington. Your investment allows me to spend time in the place I love most, meeting with members of our community and hearing what they want from their Representative in Congress. I will always put Southern Arizona first and, with your support, I will continue to work hard so I can serve our community in Washington, D.C. Thank you for investing in my race!
