·       Gov Jan Brewer: Obama Administration’s Call With Governors reveals disturbing information regarding handling of unaccompanied alien children -- “I, along with my fellow governors, today participated in a conference call with the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and the Director of the White House Office Intergovernmental Affairs.  During the call, it was confirmed what I have long suspected – the Obama administration has specifically chosen to avoid its due diligence and is releasing Unaccompanied Alien Children into the care and custody of so-called ‘sponsors’ -- individuals about whom the administration does not check immigration or deportation status.  As a Governor, it’s beyond frustrating that, once again, this administration deliberately neglects its duty to act in a responsible manner and uphold the law. But as a mother, it’s unconscionable that federal officials willingly release children into the permanent custody of people of which little – if anything – is known. I call on the President Obama and his administration to immediately correct this practice and expedite the removal of illegal aliens to their home country.  The American people have had enough.  They demand immediate action to return illegal aliens – whether adults or minors – to their countries of origin and secure our border.  I am confident voters will hold our elected officials accountable at the ballot box.”

·       A recent Gallup poll indicates that illegal immigration has now swept to the top of the list of concerns among American voters. Other polls are also showing American opposition to immigration reform amnesty legislation rising rapidly in the midst of the 2014 election cycle.

·       Phil Mason - As Posted In The Washington Post:  This (Perry's mobilization) is a partial solution, but it is folly to restrict the actions of the National Guardsmen by taking away the authority they have when protecting against lawless activity during natural emergencies or lawless behavior like riots. It is another case where the invaders of our homeland have more rights than American citizens. Those who are committed to protecting the Constitution - including the Tenth Amendment - need to stand tall in the manner of our Founding Fathers and just do the right thing. PS: My son was deployed in Operation Jump Start and his post was attacked by the invaders. The standing NG order - which the bad guys were well aware of - was that they were not allowed to have a round chambered. Thankfully, the unwritten motto in the Guard is that I would rather be judged by twelve than carried by six. If the men at his post had not been prepared and not taken timely action, we would have had guardsmen casualties. Going half-way is hardly different from ignoring the problem. In fact, history shows that going half-way only gives aid and comfort to the enemy and eventually emboldens them. If they have arrest authority during civil unrest or natural disasters, why restrict them here.  Our National Guard troops undergo the same training and stand the same posts around the world as the their Army/Navy/Marine counterparts.  Let them do the job they are trained to do instead of turning them into nothing more than assistant nannys. -  Phil Mason, Founder - Pachyderm Coalition now AZ Conservative Coalition and  and Arizona Conservative Educators

·       The JLBC Staff Reports Monthly To The Legislature on the status of General Fund revenue collections and other fiscal issues. This report can be found on the following link:  The state’s fiscal year ended on June 30. While the final book closing will take several months, we can provide some initial conclusions about the overall status of FY 2014:

1. June General Fund revenues continued the recent trend of disappointing results, as collections were $(56) million below forecast. Across the entire year, FY 2014 revenue collections were $(113) million below the enacted budget. Ongoing revenues grew 2.1% -- the lowest growth rate since FY 2010.

2. While the sales tax increased by a modest 5.4%, income taxes held back overall growth. Individual income only gained 1.9% while corporate income declined by (13.1)%.

3. The FY 2014 ending balance is projected to be $530 million, or $(66) million less than expected.

4. The FY 2015 ending balance was projected to be $130 million, however, the FY 2014 results place the projected FY 2015 ending balance in jeopardy.

5. At least 2 revenue factors could push that balance into a small shortfall. With the carry forward from FY 2014 reduced by $(66) million and a $(113) million lower-than-expected revenue base, the FY 2015 budget could have a $(49) million shortfall.

6. The recent preliminary Maricopa Superior Court ruling on K-12 inflation’s funding has the potential to turn a gloomy budget picture into a full-blown disaster. The K-12 inflation ruling would increase the state's unbudgeted costs by $317 million. If the ruling stands, the FY 2015 shortfall would grow to $(366) million. This estimate does not include any K-12 inflation "back payments," which have yet to be addressed by the courts.  – Sen John McComish, Reps Bob Robson and Jeff Dial.

·       CD9 Candidate Andrew Walter announced his support of Matt Salmon’s H.R. 5053, legislation that addresses the ongoing crisis concerning thousands of unaccompanied alien children who have illegally entered the United States.  Outlining his support of the bill, Andrew Walter stated “President Obama’s willful disregard of existing immigration laws has caused thousands of children to become the likely victims of human traffickers, drug cartels, and other criminal organizations.  This ongoing lawlessness has caused untold human tragedy and misery.  Chaos is not defensible – it is immoral.  Inaction is not an option, which is why I urge Rep. Sinema to take a stand and offer a solution that will bring an end to this heartbreaking crisis.”  Congressman Salmon’s bill reforms and updates the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008 to include Central American countries. Existing policy is limited and only includes Canada and Mexico.  In a letter to his colleagues, Rep. Salmon notes, “These children are being transported over 1,000 miles by human traffickers, drug cartels, and other criminal organizations, and run the risk of being kidnapped, raped, killed, or otherwise harmed during the journey.”  He continued, “Doing nothing is NOT the compassionate response to this humanitarian crisis.” In response, Andrew Walter wrote a letter to Congresswoman Sinema urging her to take a stand on Rep. Salmon’s bill that will solve this humanitarian crisis.

·       Gubernatorial Candidate Doug Ducey: Early voting begins in only nine days.  With so much at stake in this election, we need to make sure that our conservative message is heard by all Arizonans, and I need your help to do it.In a six-way race, every vote counts. With your help, I will become the Republican nominee on August 26th.Please reply to this email if you can spare just two hours of your time for my campaign this week My opponents are distorting the facts about me, and voters deserve to know the truth. Help me set the record straight and allow truth to triumph in this election by volunteering your time this week.Thank you so much for all that you have done so far. Let's make the final push so that we can win on Election Day.
