·       Kudos To All Of The Republicans who had floats or participated in 4th of July parades, booths and events throughout the state.  Some really neat pictures are being circulated the past couple of days. What better promos for GOP candidates and Republicans groups?


·       If You Really Want To Know How Michelle Obama’s school lunch rules are flying, just ask any student how they like her menu.  You will be surprised at how school lunch food they refuse to eat… and it ends up in the garbage can.  Such waste!


·       Coconino County Republicans outdid themselves in showing up in patriotic costumes for the Flagstaff Fourth of July parade.


·       Waste Fact of the Week  The VA gave $108.7 million in bonuses to executives and employees as vets awaited care during the past three years. – Congressman Paul Gosar


·       The West Valley Republican Office Open House is scheduled between 10 am-1 pm, Sat., July 12 at 10050 W. Bell Road  - Suite 26,  Sun City, AZ 85351 (between Ace Hardware and the discount bakery at 99th/Bell Avenue.) ·     Andrew Costanzo, CD 3 - Maricopa County Coordinator, is asking for volunteers to join  CD3 candidate Gabby Saucedo-Mercer’s campaign team to retire CD3 Democrat incumbent Raul M. Grijalva. ·       Congressman Paul Gosar: I hope that everyone in Arizona and throughout our nation enjoyed a festive 4thof July with family and friends. I walked in the Prescott Rodeo Days Parade and spent time with my family celebrating our independence. It's important to remember the great gift of freedom and the countless Americans who have sacrificed so much to insure we still enjoy it today. And it is still important to remember as President Ronald Reagan once said:“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.” Additionally, it was an exciting week to be an American as our Men’s National Soccer Team proudly competed in the World Cup against some of the best soccer nations in the world. The team successfully survived the so-called "Group of Death" to advance to the knock-out stage of the tournament. And while the U.S. team was narrowly defeated on Thursday, they proved to the world that Americans never give up and fight till the end.

·       The Mohave County Board Of Supervisors Opposes the proposed new rules and policy change by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Marine Fisheries Service (Services) related to improving the process of designating areas of “critical habitat” under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).  “If these changes are applied, they will have an adverse effect on Mohave County taxpayers and businesses by designating more private land for critical habitat,” Supervisor Buster Johnson stated.  According to Johnson, roughly 82% of Mohave County is already federally owned.  “We have over 13,300 square miles of public land in our county already.  We cannot afford to lose any more private land to the federal government,” Johnson continued. . The comment period is open until Oct 9.

·       Candidate Yard Signs In Your Neighborhood Are Legal.  The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees your right to free speech, and state law supports homeowners' rights to display political yard signs during election season -- despite HOA rules which may try to restrict your rights. Details on the law are here (toward the end of the document) and it's clear that an HOA cannot enforce sign regulations that are more restrictive than those of the city, town or county. ·       Gubernatorial Candidate Scott Smith highlights his track record of reducing crime and fighting illegal immigration as Mayor of Mesa. The City of Mesa was recently rated by the FBI as the third safest big city in the country and saw major crime drop to a 40-year low. Smith credited the reduction in crime to an intense focus on efficiency, broad reforms, and focused and dedicated law enforcement professionals."Creating safe communities in Mesa is a top priority for our residents and as Mayor, I fought for tough, effective and fair law enforcement policies that brought major crime down to a 40-year low in Mesa," stated Smith. "By focusing on efficiency and implementing extensive enforcement reforms to deal with career criminals and illegal immigration, we were able to make Mesa a safer city and raise the quality of life for our families." Under Smith's leadership, Mesa was the first city in Arizona to train every sworn officer in immigration enforcement. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were embedded within the Mesa police force, City jail personnel were 287(g) trained, and the immigration status was checked for every person arrested. The City implemented these reforms nearly two years prior to the passage of SB1070. Mesa implemented the reforms using a balanced approach that prioritized public safety with immigration enforcement while protecting basic rights. The Mesa policies were broadly supported and were never challenged in the court of law. Smith added, "As Governor, I'll work with the legislature and both state and local law enforcement to get the resources needed to successfully fight crime and illegal immigration."
