·       Precinct Committeemen elections:  The precinct level results are the very last reports created at the canvass. We are tentatively scheduled to canvass on Sept 3 which is subject to change.   Kristi Passarelli – Maricopa County Recorder’s Office.

·       LD23 And LD28 Precinct Committeemen (PCs) anxiously await the posting of PC elections. Mailer or palm cards distributed by a political PAC - promoting specific PCs candidates for election - have caused quite an uproar within those two LDs.  Some Republican leaders say that the mailer/palm cards, aka ‘McCain’s Revenge’ appear to target specific PCs for retirement – mainly those grassroots conservatives who may have supported the January 2014 censorship resolution of Sen John McCain during the State and Maricopa County Conventions. This could have a big impact on the election of state and county officers in Jan 2015.

·       During Primary Election Night Reporting, Yavapai County, working with new election equipment, experienced technical difficulties properly exporting the results file out of its system. Yavapai County worked throughout the night and exported a results file at approximately 5:40 a.m. Once Yavapai exported the file, that data was successfully uploaded into the state election night reporting system without difficulty.  In May 2014, Yavapai County approved this election equipment for experimental use pursuant to A.R.S. 16-442(F).  Since the Secretary of State’s Office certifies an end-to-end voting system, the system as configured in Yavapai County was not certified by the State.  This new election system, Unisyn OpenElect, is only used in Yavapai County. Questions about this new equipment should be directed to Yavapai County, 928-771-3249.

·       Yavapai County Election ResultsPrimary Election Results or Courier Election Results.

·       Cochise County experienced technical difficulties with yesterday’s tabulation of ballots that will cause a revision of the Primary Election Night Results, possibly changing the outcomes of some races. Previously posted results for this county have been removed from the Secretary of State’s election reporting system. Cochise County is actively working on a resolution and new files will be uploaded when available. Please note that all election results are unofficial until the Canvass. For more information, contact Jim Vlahovich, interim director of Cochise County Elections at 520-432-8970.

·       The House & Senate Victory Committees are hosting a 2014 Republican Legislative Candidate Reception from 5-7 pm, Sept 17 at the Sheraton Downtown Phoenix. Tickets are $250 per person / Table Sponsorships are available. Please contact Andrea Evans at AndreaTylerEvans@gmail.com for more information.

·       Pima County Citizens Are Urged To Attend The Pima County Board Of Supervisors Meeting On Tues., Sept 2 in an effort to ‘preserve election integrity in Pima County’, according to the Arizona Accountability Foundation. Purchase of new election equipment is on the agenda of the meeting scheduled at 9 am at 130 W Congress, first floor, board hearing room, Tucson. There is objection to County Administrator Chuck Huckleberry’s recommendation to change a long standing policy and exclude precinct scanners in the purchase. This new policy will mean that fewer citizens will have the ability to oversee the counts, according to opponents. ·       Obama’s Latest Power Grab By Long-time GOP activitist, former LD vice chair, Club chairman, and Arrowhead Republican Women Member-at-Large, Jan Martinson: As you know, President Obama has gathered more power in his time in office than any previous President. In fact, Obama has amassed enough power to make him the envy of any dictator in the world! Do you remember how a few years ago he signed an executive order that essentially gave him the right to impose Martial-Law, right here in America? Well now he has put the pieces in place for direct imperial control. Through a Pentagon Directive called, DEFENSE SUPPORT OF CIVIL AUTHORITIES, he can now deploy the military on American soil, on just his say so! In fact here’s one of his totalitarian powers: When duly constituted Federal, State or Local authorities are unable or decline to provide adequate protection for Federal property or federal governmental functions, federal action, including the use of federal military forces, is authorized when necessary to protect the Federal property or functions. You read that right. Obama can send planes, tanks, drones and Special Forces to anywhere in the United States he feels the federal government isn’t getting the obedience he requires! This is the gravest threat to Liberty we’ve ever faced! Currently, Federal Courts refuse to allow Congress to legally challenge Obama’s Executive Order Grabs. It’s time we get back to the Constitution. Who is going to be strong enough to demand the Courts overturn Obama’s breach of power?

WHAT CANDIDATES ARE SAYING:

Send to repcomm@cox.net or frosty@mcrcbriefs.org  Briefs does NOT endorse candidates, nor candidate statements. Statements longer than 250/300 words will be edited/condensed.

·       Treasurer Candidate Jeff DeWit:  We Did It!  We started this journey in January and it's been an amazing experience traveling across the great state of Arizona, meeting so many of you and sharing my vision for the office of State Treasurer.  As a businessman and financial professional wanting to serve and make a difference I am honored to have been elected as the Republican nominee for State Treasurer. To all of our family, friends both new and old, volunteers and well-wishers, we are so blessed to have you all in our lives and from the bottom of my heart I say Thank You. The next step is the General election and early ballots will be mailed in 4 weeks.  It looks like a write-in Democrat candidate made the ballot in the Treasurer race.  I would appreciate your continued support, and thank you to everyone who has embraced my campaign.

·       CD1 Candidate Adam Kwasman: Despite our best efforts, we came up short on Tuesday night's Primary. I still believe it’s going to take a unified party to defeat Nancy Pelosi’s protégé Ann Kirkpatrick. That’s been my goal since day one. Your support allowed me to travel to every corner of the district spreading the truth about the extremely liberal agenda that has been destroying our nation. We’ve gotten this message out to hundreds-of-thousands of voters. Arizonan’s are more fired up than ever to defeat Ann Kirkpatrick. None of us will rest until Kirkpatrick is defeated. Today I must ask for your help one last time. Building and running a campaign is an enormous undertaking... and an operation of this size doesn’t “stop on a dime.. Unfortunately, we came up five, solitary, heart-breaking percent short which ended our fight. Please make a contribution  to help me close the books on my campaign. I believe in honoring one’s financial commitments. I want to make sure all of the vendors are made whole.  I will focus 100% of my energies over the next six months to making sure my supporters stay engaged and don’t let up until Ann Kilpatrick is defeated. I’m honored to have earned your support. Your support continues to make a difference. You’ve helped us make a sizable dent in Ann’s armor.  As a result, she’s extremely vulnerable. While my name won’t be on the ballot, I remain 110% committed to finishing what we started.  I’m counting on your help so I can close the books on this campaign. With your support, I know we can quickly pay our bills and turn our focus to doing everything in our power to defeat Ann in November. Thank you.

·       CD2 Candidate Chuck Wooten: "I'm obviously disappointed with the outcome of the primary election.  My team and I were well prepared to begin the hard work of defeating Ron Barber and set our District on a path of recovery and improvement.  Although we were not successful in winning the Republican nomination, we feel we have accomplished a great deal, especially by winning nearly a full 25% of the vote in the face of adversity and often-hostile opposition by both the Republican Party and our opponents.  By Party standards, we were never supposed to win.  The Republicans chose their candidate in 2012 and were driven by stoking McSally's war chest with millions of dollars.  My campaign, on the other hand spent only $2 per vote and we still won a quarter of the district-wide ballots.  The Republican posture was to make certain she won despite a stronger, more popular candidate entering the race.  Even by coming in 2nd place, we feel victorious." Wooten continued, "Now is the time to look beyond the primary.  As a man of my word, I am publicly announcing my support for a McSally victory, thereby returning the district to Republican representation.  I encourage my supporters to prayerfully consider supporting Ms. McSally general election efforts." After a short readjustment from campaign life, Mr. Wooten will resume his business operations. As we move on from the campaign activities, I wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate and value you all.  On behalf of Lora and me, from the bottom of our hearts.

·       CD9 Candidate Wendy Rogers: Thank You! With your help, we achieved a decisive victory in yesterday’s Republican primary. We’re one big, important step closer to our goal: retiring Kyrsten Sinema in November! Last night, we celebrated our win. Today, I’m already back on the campaign trail. Sinema won’t waste time and neither can we. She’s ready to attack me and my campaign, and I need your help now to make sure she doesn’t get away with it. Will you help us start the general election strong by chipping in now? We know Kyrsten Sinema. She’s one of President Obama’s most faithful supporters in Congress. Any liberal idea he thinks up, she’s ready to vote for. But her blind support of a failed liberal agenda isn’t good for Arizona and it isn’t good for the country! We can stop her, but it’s going to take our best effort. I will continue to outwork my opponent and share my message with voters across the district. I can’t thank you enough for helping us take such an important step yesterday, and I look forward to celebrating another big victory with you by my side in November!

·       Gubernatorial Candidate Ken Bennett: To our loyal supporters, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the long hours of support you have given to me personally and this campaign. I am proud of the work we’ve done, and am overwhelmed with the sheer volume of people who have reached out to us throughout this campaign. It has been one of the highest honors of my life to serve the citizens of Arizona. This has always been, and will always be, my home.  I’ll be returning to the private sector for a while, and probably need to take my wife and family on a long overdue vacation. Many are asking me about my future as a statesman, and for now I’ll just say that with the struggles we as a state are facing, I am prayerfully considering future service. My deepest thanks to friends, family, and supporters all around the state. People, not Politics.

·       State Treasurer Candidate Randy Pullen: I would like to thank my supporters, staff and family for their efforts on my behalf over the past ten months. It has been a long and hard fought campaign for State Treasurer. We traveled around the state from Bullhead City to Yuma and Show Low to Sierra Vista with many stops in between. While the outcome was not what we all expected, I am proud of the campaign we ran. We remained positive throughout and did not run negative attack ads or make up lies about my opponents. I believe in telling Arizonans the truth about issues and not pandering for their votes. I remain positive about the future of Arizona and our Republican candidates for office. Please join me in supporting our nominees for state offices and working to make Arizona the great state we wish it to be.

·       Kyrene Precinct Justice of the Peace candidate Darryl Jacobson-Barnes: To all those who did something, and many who did "a little", plus a whole lot more, just wanted to take a moment to thank you...every contribution was special, treasured and important, whether it was creating maps and walking lists, creating my website, walking in 115 degree weather daily (you know who you are ) talking to a neighbor, accepting a yard sign, planting a sign, walking your precinct with and without me, circulating/signing a petition, working the polls, hosting meet and greets, including me in your events, inviting me to your civic organizations, hosting group walks, helping me and Bob pound signs for 12 hours at a time, catching the sign thieves, sending me home with a home cooked meal after a long day of door knocking, reading and proofing my material, insisting that I set up a twitter account, looking for me when I disappeared into someone’s home as I was walking for signatures, chairing the campaign, being my treasurer!, donating to the cause, getting others to donate, taking photos and the list goes on! You are all wonderful for helping support our honest, "squeaky clean" campaign...utmost respect to all of you! Sadly the outcome was not what we would have liked, but the friendships, laughs, stories of silly voter anecdotes, and so many other fond memories will always be a winner! As many of you have heard me say in the past, I will always care more than others think wise, but it is worth the differences we make in people's lives. Taking the time to talk with, register people, give advice, give support, share experience, and bring a smile to so many, makes it all "worth the climb". We fought an uphill battle and we truly make a difference. Thanks again for helping me make that difference.

·       CD 8 Candidate Clair Van Steenwyk :  I want to thank the many Arizonans who supported my campaign for the US House of Representatives in CD 8.  Many said we would not qualify for the ballot and we proved them wrong. Then they said we wouldn't have enough funds to run a good campaign, but we did. We stood up for our God Granted Rights and fought hard for them against superior resources.  I’ll remain involved in the ongoing effort to restore America to a solid Constitutional Republic and keep you updated on my efforts. I congratulate Mr. Franks on his victory and wish him and his family the well.  God Bless You All; Van & Jean
