·       The Attack On Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941, is a day to remember and to reflect on, especially for Arizonans. The USS Arizona and 1,177 of the 1,400 crew members on board were among the first casualties that day. When the attack was over more than 2,500 American perished. “The lives lost that day should always be remembered and honored,” said Speaker-elect DavidGowan. “We are blessed even today by the sacrifice of those men and women who defended our freedom during World War II.” One survivor of the attack on the USS Arizona remembers: “Within minutes of our arrival at our battle stations, we found that all communications lines were dead. Explosions and fires were raging uncontrolled throughout the ship. Suddenly, the forward magazines exploded with a deafening roar. The ship raised several feet in the harbor waters, then slowly began to sink to the bottom of the shallow harbor, a total loss.” – excerpted from Lamar Crawford oral history.

·       Phx City Councilman Jim Waring: I do not support automatic pay raises. It is irresponsible for the City to continue down this path, and something must be done. We need to create a performance based system and not rely on a system created more than 50 years ago. The current model is unsustainable. Phoenix's automatic pay raises draw scrutiny

·       Congressman Paul Gosar helped pack Thanksgiving dinners for needy families at the Living Faith Church in Prescott Valley and the Yavapai Food Bank. Makes you wonder how many other Senators and Congressmen rolled up their sleeves and pitched to help their communities???

·       Phoenix Vice Mayor Jim Waring is hosting a holiday party at 5:30 pm, Tues., Dec 16 Zipps Sports Grill - 6501 E. Greenway Blvd., Phoenix. Participants are asked to bring pudding and applesauce cups to be donated to Kitchen on the Street for their bags of hope.

·       Cochise, Greenlee, Graham and Pima County LD14 PCs have passed a resolution limiting PCS to carrying “no more than for proxies,” according to Chairman Tom Crosby. This prevents individual PCs from “stacking the deck” by carrying numerous proxy.

·       WWII Veterans Arthur M. Guida of Payson Arizona finally has the military medals he earned. Congressman Paul Gosar recently helped present  Guida with the the Navy Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Button and the Honorable Service Lapel pin to the former radioman second class who saw combat in the Pacific and New Guinea. Gosar can be reached to help with veteran’s issues at (928) 445-1683.

·       Reports Continue To  Surface Across Maricopa County of PCs carrying numerous proxies to the LD Organizational meetings for PCs who have never been seen at LD meetings. Political insiders report these faceless PCs names are now appearing on the State Committeeman rosters?  Coincidence or well-orchestrated?

·       Congressman Paul Gosar: On Wednesday the U.S. national debt hit $18,000,000,000,000. America’s debt was at $10.6 trillion when Obama took office in 2009, and the big spending policies of his administration have increased this burden by 70 percent during his almost six years in office. If you divide up that debt equally among every man, woman and child in the United States it would total about $56,250 per person. This is beyond irresponsible and you better believe that the Republican controlled House and Senate will make it one of our top priorities to rein in this abuse and return to passing budgets that gets our nation back on track to fiscal sustainability.

·       The Arizona Corporation Commission will meet at 10 am, Thurs, Dec 11 and Fri., Dec 12. See notice and agenda: Open Meeting Notice.

·        Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus has announced that the RNC raised $11.9 million for the post-election reporting period of October 16 through November 24. This report includes money raised after Election Day 2014. The committee has already begun paying back the loan it took out to support Republican candidates at the end of the cycle. “We’re excited to see that our supporters and investors have continued to donate so generously to the RNC even after Election Day 2014,” said Priebus. “In the short term, we are focused on the Senate runoff in Louisiana. We are also continuing to make investments in our nationwide ground game in preparation for the next presidential election. Our donors recognize the importance of investing now to defeat the Democrats and Hillary Clinton in 2016 and to defend our majority in Congress. Our party has to be a year-round, nationwide party, and we will continue to implement that vision with the support of our donors. By every measure, we had an outstanding year and election cycle. The results speak for themselves: a Republican majority in the Senate, a larger majority in the House, more Republican governors, and the most Republican-led state legislative chambers in history. We are extremely grateful to all who made that possible.”
Fast facts:
·         Total raised Oct 16-Nov 24: $11.9 million
·         Total raised for 2014 cycle through Nov 24: $188.8 million
·         Total cash on hand: $6.9 million
·         Percentage of donations $200 and under Oct 16-Nov 24: 97%
·         Average donation Oct 16-Nov 24: $83
·         Debt: $3.5 million
