Participating in a gun buy-back program because you think that criminals have too many guns is like having yourself castrated because you think your neighbors  have too many kids. - Clint Eastwood

·       Lori Urban announces for State Chairman: I will move to immediately to close our primary. 70% of the registered Independents in our last primary voted a Republican ballot.  We need to register them as Republicans.  I encourage our Executive Committee to be more of a voice.

We must increase our voter registration, Precinct Committeeman numbers and share our Message of Yes We support Freedom, Family, Faith, our State's and Nation's Security and Smaller Government!

Robert Graham has bought into an idea that the Party must only be focused on voter registration and voter turnout.  I disagree.  According to the Secretary of State, registered voters have increased by 14,838, but Republican voter registration is DOWN 32,830 under his watch (Jan 2013 to Nov 2014).   Arizona was 37th in voter turnout.

We just experienced a tidal wave of success across the country.  In Arizona, we barely kept the majority that we had.  Our race for Superintendent of Public Instruction was a nail biter and Diane Douglas was left off many AZGOP campaign pieces. We may pick up a congressional seat, but that is mostly due to the efforts of Martha McSally and the National Republican Congressional Committee.  Every state bordering Arizona enjoyed Republican increases.  Using Robert's own yardstick, he failed.

I have raised money for the Arizona Republican Party, Maricopa County Republican Committee and many candidates, served as a precinct committeeman, state committeeman, Arizona Young Republicans Chairman, Paradise Republican Women President, worked within the AZ Federation of Republican Women, served as the Arizona Republican National Committeewoman and worked for over 30 years to share our conservative message. I ask for your Vote at our state January 24  AZGOP meeting.  Contact:  480-221-9633

·       AGOP candidate Lori Urban’s Slate:

o   First Vice Chair - Maricopa County Chairman AJ LaFaro -  a strong voice within the legislature and closing our primaries.

o   Second Vice Chair - Congressional Candidate Gabby Saucedo Mercer -  a beautiful, eloquent voice for our principles - Jobs, Family,Security.

o   Secretary - Arizona Freedom Alliance voice Lynne Breyer will continue to share her conservative voice.

·       Did you know that Sheriff Joe Arpaio has known former AZGOP Chairman Tom Morrissey for over 20 years? When Arpaio was elected Sheriff, Morrissey was the Chief Deputy US Marshal for Arizona. Morrissey is currently  a candidate for the MCRC Chairmanship.

·       LD16 Rep Kelly Townsend was chosen to represent Arizona at The Assembly of State Legislatures in Washington D.C. December 8 and 9. “I am honored to represent Arizona at the Assembly,” said Townsend. “I encourage everyone to research and study Article V of the US Constitution, and how an Article V Convention of States could effect changes to the way our federal government operates.” The Assembly of State Legislatures is expected to focus on Article V of the U.S. Constitution, which allows states to call for a Convention of States to propose constitutional amendments under certain circumstances; 34 states must agree to hold a Convention of States in order to propose amendments to the US Constitution. More than 75 state legislators representing 29 states are meeting in Washington D.C. Dec 8 and 9 to establish the rules and procedures needed for a future state-led convention to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution, as authorized by Article V of the Constitution. The Assembly of State Legislatures meeting is a continuation of efforts that began in December 2013 at George Washington’s historic Mount Vernon estate in Virginia, which Townsend also attended.  Townsend is the chair of the Federalism and States’ Rights Committee for the Arizona House of Representatives.

·       A recent Republican caller to House Speaker John Boehner's D.C. office says his call was answered by an automated message system stating the office is 'experiencing high call volume & calls are answered in the order in which they are received,' all the while patriotic American music is playing in the background. The caller waited & waited, but again the automated system played a prerecorded message by John Boehner asking the caller to leave a voicemail, or else the call will be dropped. The caller left the following message:

“It's interesting how you play patriotic American music in the background & maintain a first come-1st served policy for callers, but you fail to stand up as a patriotic American representative in government by failing to stand up for the US Constitution & the rule of law, time after time after time - 1 example being how you waive your 1st come-1st served orderly manner policy with regards to illegal aliens breaking into the U.S. & present in the U.S., thus perpetuating all the more foreigners, mostly south of the border, to get all the more motivated to break into the U.S.. Long story short: You must stop the executive amnesty. You must enforce the rule of law. Will you? Your reputation precedes you. I hope you're removed from 'leadership' of the House. You're a pathetic excuse for a leader.”

·       AZGOP Chairman Candidate Lori Urban: “I believe that our leadership is elected to serve “of the people, by the people and for the people.”  I believe in our Republican Party of Freedom, Faith, Family and Belief in the Individual and the great potential we all have.  I believe in Ronald Reagan's words - “I do not believe we are doomed to a fate that will fall on us no matter what we do.  I do believe we are doomed to a fate that will fall on us if we do nothing.”  It is not enough to believe and agree with our Republican Principles - we must share our message to grow.

·       MCRC 2nd Vice Chair Candidate Art Olivas, Jr:  “If a candidate needs endorsements or has to hang on to some ones rear end coattails to get elected, then he is owned by his endorsers and owner of the rear end coattails. ·        RNC Chairman Reince Priebus Says He Has The Votes To Win Another Term as chairman of the Republican National Committee. Priebus told RNC members of his plan to seek a third term in an email Monday night and said that 150 of the 168 party officials and political activists who make up the national organization have pledged to support him, according to a copy of the note obtained by CNN. "With such support it is impossible for me to say no," Priebus wrote. "Therefore, I write to seek your support for another term as RNC chairman. As some of you may have heard me say, thus far we accomplished about 80 percent of what we needed to accomplish with another 80 percent left to go. If we are going to win in 2016, we must build upon what we were able to accomplish over the last 4 years, and I ask for your continued support to make sure we do in fact accomplish that goal." When Priebus took over the RNC, it was $25 million in debt, which he helped to erase by convincing deep-pocketed Republican donors to start contributing again to the committee after the controversial chairmanship of Michael Steele.

After the 2012 election, Priebus focused the RNC's efforts on upgrading the committee's technological infrastructure and voter data as well as outreach to minority communities. He commissioned a report, the "Growth and Opportunity Project," that outlined ways for the GOP to grow its base. Republicans largely embraced the report, but social conservatives opposed a recommendation the party be more tolerant of people who are gay. At this time, Priebus has no opponent in the race to lead the national party. Assuming he wins election to a third term at the RNC Winter Meeting in January, Priebus will be on track to be the longest-serving chairman in committee history.
