·       ATTN PCS.  Be sure to read and understand the resolutions and by laws proposals for the Jan 11 meeting.

·       Something To Think About: Concern Is Surfacing regarding a clause in proposed bylaw change -  Article II Section 2E 10 that reads: “The PC shall provide the district, county, and state party offices with their email addresses, if they have one. District, county and state party offices may not allow e-mail addresses to be used for any purpose other than internal party communications and shall not distribute an e-mail address to anyone, including other PC's without the express consent of the affected precinct committeeman.  While this provides protection for personal e-mail addresses and should prevent officials from using/abusing the e-dress for their own personal agendas/campaigns etc; it also provides the same party officials with a lot of power/control (depending on how they interpret “internal communications” )  and prevents LD Chairs from providing their own PCs with a list of fellow PCs – thus impeding communications between PCs within their own  districts.

·       ATTN PCs: PCs Are Urged To Stay Through The Entire Jan 11 Meeting in case of

ü  tied votes that may go to a second ballot and

ü  they can sign the petition to censure Sen. John McCain  - if that resolutions it passes

ü  installation of newly elected Members at Large.

·       ATTN PCs.  You Should Have Received Your Maricopa County Republican Jan 11 Meeting “Call Letter”  in the mail last Friday or Saturday. The call letter includes the mandatory meeting agenda, the proposed resolutions to be voted on, and a proxy form in case you cannot attend.  Please note that the ‘call letter’ return address reads Arizona Republican Party, not MCRC because it was posted from the AZGOP HQ.

·       Six Maricopa County Republican Committeemen Have Announced Candidacy for five member-at-large positions to be elected during the Jan 11 Maricopa County Republican meeting.  A five-man team consisting of Dan Schultz (LD18), Joe Hobbs (LD19), Andy Costanzo (LD27), Gary Johnson (LD18) and Ray Sweeney (LD2) are running as a slate. ·       The JLBC Staff Reports Monthly To The Legislature On The Status Of General Fund revenue collections and other fiscal issues. See report: www.azleg.gov/jlbc.htm  Key points of the document:

o   State revenues continue their moderate growth pattern. November General Fund revenue collections totaled $592.8 million. Base revenues, which exclude one-time adjustments, were 4.9% above November 2012 and $41.0 million above forecast.

o   In November, Sales tax revenues grew 4.9%, while Individual Income tax receipts increased by 1.4%. Corporate Income tax collections were relatively flat.

o   Year-to-date, General Fund revenues are 4.8% above the prior year and are $53.0 million above forecast. The current FY 2014 forecast overage is split evenly between higher than expected base revenue collections and greater one-time revenues.

o   The state’s fiscal health can also be measured by the operating fund balance. The state pays its bills out of the operating fund balance, which consists of the General Fund and certain dedicated funds. The operating balance has stayed at a relatively constant level so far during FY 2014, and is currently at a level of $1.9 billion.

o   In addition, the state’s Budget Stabilization (Rainy Day) Fund has a balance of $453.1 million.  Report submitted by Senator John McComish,  Rep Bob Robson & Rep Jeff Dial
