·       Sheriff-Joe-Thinking Of Running-For-Governor

·       McCain-Asks-GOP-Base-For-Donations … What is interesting is that McCain, or a GOP letter-writing campaign, is sending out this piece. A recent poll found that McCain is the least-liked senator in the country. County party organizations have censured McCain because of his voting record which has been more in line with Democrats than Republicans.

·       CD2 candidate Martha McSally was on Greta Van Susteren’s  “On the Record” this evening disussing the ongoing search and rescue mission for Malaysia Airlkines Flight 370, as well as possible national security implications. info@mcsallyforcongress.com   (520) 488-4610   www.McSallyForCongress.com

·       Bet You Didn’t Know: As A Member Of Congress, Gubernatorial candidate Frank Riggs voted to ban partial birth abortion and defend traditional marriage (The Defense of Marriage Act)  In his three terms, Riggs organized the Gang of 7 to expose the House Bank and Post Office scandals and sponsored the first bill of the Contract With America requiring Congress follow the same laws they impose on the American people. Along with his Republican colleagues, he balanced the budget four straight years, cut taxes for the first time in a generation, and passed welfare to work.  Riggs promises to bring the same socially and fiscally conservative values to the governor's office.  For more on the Riggs Record go to www.riggsforazgov.com.

·       Update on legislation – Courtesy Tom Jenney, Americans for Prosperity, Arizona

·       HB 2328 (Rep David Livingston) removes the requirements that qualified students attend specified schools or be the dependent of a member of the armed forces in order for a school tuition organization (STO) to provide educational scholarships or tuition grants. With this reform, more students will be able to afford a better education. Passed House 35-23.  Click HERE to support

·       HB 2367 (Speaker Andy Tobin) passed House 35-22.  This Medicaid reform would require able-bodied adults to work in order to qualify, as well as place limits on the amount of time they can stay in the program. Click HERE to encourage your senator to support it.

·       HB 2377 and HB 2378 (Rep Justin Olson) are important tax reforms - passed House 55-0 votes (5 not voting). HB 2377 would index income tax brackets for inflation, so cost of living increases do not push Arizonans into paying higher taxes. HB 2378 would, with a few exceptions, prohibit cities from levying property taxes based on the size or value of the owner's real property or improvements for any city-provided public service. Both bills have been assigned to the Senate Finance Committee and should be heard soon. Click HERE to request Senate Finance Committee to support. Click HERE and HERE to ask your senator to support.

·       HB 2465 (Rep J.D. Mesnard)  failed House 27-31, but may be reconsidered next week. This legislation would ensure that any additional revenue provided to Arizona due to the national Marketplace Fairness Act would be used to alleviate other tax burdens on Arizonans, rather than be used to fund additional government spending. Click HERE to ask your legislators for continued support of this bill.

·       HB 2508 (Rep Phil Lovas) passed House 35-23. Ensures that those who wish to work as Obamacare "navigators" have criminal background checks.  HB 2508 would attempt to protect Arizonans whose private information will be accessed by the navigators and try to prevent criminals from using the navigator program to take advantage of vulnerable citizens. Click HERE to encourage your senator to support.

·       HB 2614, aka Truth-in-Spending, failed House 29-29 vote (with the sponsor, Rep Steve Smith, voting "No" in order to request reconsideration of the bill). Click HERE to encourage your legislators to consider how important this bill is for transparency and support when it returns for a vote.

·       HCR 2005 (Rep Phil Lovas) would place a "Terminal Patients' Right to Try Act" on the 2014 Arizona ballot, which-if approved by voters-would allow drug manufacturers to provide investigational drugs (that have already been deemed safe to use) to terminally ill patients. Passed House 31-23.All Arizonans should have the right to save their own lives, without being told by a government bureaucrat they cannot. Click HERE to encourage your senator to vote in support of this important health care freedom issue.

·       SB 1413 (Sen Steve Yarbrough) Supported by Gov Jan Brewer - would bring Arizona in line with many of other States that do not impose a sales tax on energy used by manufacturers.  Implementing broad-based sales tax relief to manufacturers would spur economic growth and help Arizona businesses compete in the national and international markets. Passed Senate 25-0. Click HERE to support the bill.

·       Let your legislators know how you feel about crucial issues: www.AZvoices.gov

·       HB 2260-Small Business Bill of Rights - (NFIB project) would ensure regulatory agencies create lists of rights held by businesses and inform these businesses of those rights. This reform would ensure businesses remain vigilant about their rights, as well as discourage government bureaucrats from abusing regulatory powers. Heard by the Senate Government/Environment Committee on Monday. Click HERE for senate support.

·       HB 2561-Protection for Privately Certified Businesses (Rep Warren Petersen) would promote entrepreneurship and job creation by allowing individuals to practice professions with private certification - a professional credential that would allow practice of a profession without having to be licensed by the government.  In the case of unlicensed professions, HB 2561 would not prevent others from practicing the profession.Click HERE to support.

·       HB 2291 & SB 1236 -Help Arizona Children Get a Better Education ( Rep Debbie Lesko and Sen Kimberly Yee) would allow Arizona families to ensure their children's educational experience is as individualized as possible, and enable our children to be educated in schools that meet their needs. Goes to the floor early this week. Click HERE and HERE to support

·       SB 1048 (Sen Chester Crandell) would establish an income tax credit for companies that contribute to student tuition organizations (STOs).  This would enable businesses to support educational reform and help families pay for the schools that best serve their needs. Click HERE to support this legislation on the floor.

·       Right-Wing-Mobs; Say-It-Isnt-So-Conservatives   As minority leader, McConnell managed to get every single Republican in the Senate to vote against Obamacare — even “Strange New Respect” Republicans like John McCain, Susan Collins and Lindsey Graham. No other Republican leader has ever accomplished anything like that.
