·          Memorial Services For James Bearup, who passed away a year ago, will be held at 6 pm, Tues, April 8 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Directions  A dinner is planned by his parents Tom and Adele Bearup following the memorial services. Maps to the dinner location will be provided at the services. ·       The Sun City West Republican Club will meet at 8 am, Sat. May 3 for coffee/donuts at 8 am and 8:30 mtg in the Quail Room of the SCW Foundations Buildings, 14465 R H Johnson Blvd, Sun City West. Speaker: Elbert “Bick” Bicknell will discuss his position on the Maricopa County Special Health Care District. Bicknell is a former two-term New Hampshire representative and enjoyed a long career in law enforcement after graduating from both the New  Hampshire and Vermont Police Academies.  He is a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC.  $2 admission to cover expenses. ·       The State Bar of Arizona is sponsoring a June 7 free legal advice to veterans/spouses regarding  family law, bankruptcy, tax, and real estate, preparation of a will, a medical power of attorney, and a financial power of attorney. Appointments are recommended and are available by calling (480) 363-6880.

 

·       Go To www.azsos.gov/equal -   the Arizona Secretary of State's web site -  to sign the petitions of the candidates of your choice and contribute $5 to the Clean Election candidates. Candidates can get half of their signatures and half of their $5 contributions this way.

·       The Andrew Walter For CD9 Headquarters was pleased with the turn-out at Saturday’s open house. “We had over 50 individuals stop by throughout the day to see the office. Many dropped off completed petitions and donations, while others asked to walk their own neighborhoods or to make calls at the office. We have to continue recruiting volunteers to join our team, but one thing is clear: we have the foundation to win in CD9 and to defeat Kyrsten Sinema,” according to Digital Director Adam  Levi. The office is open 9am-5 pm, Mon-Fri.
