·       Convoy To Protest McCain At 1 PM, Aug 2 In Phx. A group of Murrieta residents who are deeply involved in grassroots efforts to keep DHS buses out of the Murrieta Border Patrol facility are now teamed up with Grassfire.com, LibertyNews.com, Guerilla Media Network and Overpasses for America to host a day of protests in southern Arizona during the official Border Convoy headed from Murrieta, CA to McAllen, TX. More than 100 vehicles are registered to join the convoy along the way and the group expects 50+ vehicles to arrive in Arizona this Saturday. The convoy groups strongly oppose legislation being proposed by John McCain, Jeff Flake and John Boehner, charging it does nothing to secure the border, spends enormous sums of money on programs with no proven ability to slow the invasion coming across our borders while wasting time and money by making human trafficking illegal when it is already illegal. The group travels through Arizona on Sat, Aug 2. The convoy will protest at 2201 East Camelback Rd (McCain) beginning 1-1:30 PM and at 4:30 pm at the Eloy Detention Center, 1705 E Hanna, in Eloy. The convoy will then roll through Oracle, AZ at around 7 pm to finish the day’s events in Arizona. www.borderconvoy.com  Contact Eric Odom at 312.282.9310 or borderconvoymedia@gmail.co

·       Did you know? In 1910, Maricopa County Sheriff Carl Hayden organized the first posse that used an automobile to chase and capture train robbers. His courage and fame as a lawman propelled him to be elected to Arizona’s first Congressional seat in 1911, before Arizona officially became a state. He served eight terms in the House and seven terms in the U.S. Senate until he retired in 1968. – Maricopa County Board of Supervisor’s Chairman Denny Barney

·       Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Denny Barney: In June, our office visited Marc Community Resources (MARC). MARC is a nonprofit that specializes in providing educational, therapeutic, rehabilitation and social services to children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities and behavioral health challenges. President Randy Gray and his team were incredibly hospitable and we were privileged to meet with an extraordinary group of individuals.

·       Congressman Matt Salmon regarding the House’s deliberations on passing a supplemental spending bill to address the border crisis.“Today was a wild day in the House.  To set the record straight, I am one hundred percent against doing nothing to fix our border crisis.  While I believe that the Secure the Southwest Border Act of 2014 made a number of positive changes to secure our border and address this humanitarian crisis, there were some in our conference that wanted to craft a better, stronger bill.  I support their efforts as well.  We will continue to work to improve and bolster this bill, and I am committed to staying in Washington, D.C. until we approve a plan to secure our borders and help these children.”

·       Congressman David Schweikert Announced His Support For The Border Proposal on the House floor Wednesday night. The bill voted on today by the House of Representatives. “If you’re actually from Arizona, this isn’t a new issue,. We’ve been living with the challenges of immigration policy for decades now and the amount of the border responsibility my taxpayers have had to take on is tremendous. Tomorrow, we’ll have a piece of legislation to step up and deal with parts of the border crisis.  It’s not a half-of-a-loaf, it’s not a quarter-a-loaf, it’s not an eighth-of-a-loaf, it’s sort of the heel of a loaf but at least for those of us in Arizona, I believe it does a handful of things we’ve been demanding,” he said.  floor speech

·       Sen John McCain Spoke On The Senate Floor on Thursday of the Senate about the crisis on our southern border and the Democrats’ refusal to allow a vote on any amendments aimed at addressing this serious national problem. McCain had filed the legislation he introduced with Sen Jeff Flake (R-AZ), called the Children Returning on an Expedited and Safe Timeline Act (CREST Act), as an amendment, but Majority Leader Harry Reid refused to allow a vote on it. WHAT CANDIDATES ARE SAYING:

Send to repcomm@cox.net or frosty@mcrcbriefs.org  Briefs does NOT endorse candidates, nor candidate statements. Statements longer than 250/300 words will be edited/condensed.

·       AZ Corporation Commission Candidate Doug Little: I'm excited to announce that we have reached our $5 qualifying contribution goal and have submitted our application for clean elections funding. I want to send a big "Thank You" to everyone who helped us collect donations and everyone who contributed! Your support and hard work on behalf of my campaign is greatly appreciated. Also, many thanks to Kris Kingsmore and Yolanda Morales in the Arizona Secretary of State's elections office for a smooth submission process. Thanks again to all of our supporters! You guys made it happen and we really appreciate each and every one of you!

·       Gubernatorial Candidate Frank Riggs asks who are you going to trust to enforce the law and secure our border?  The so-called "wealthy candidates" who never served in the military, or for that matter, have no legislative record whatsoever to back their rhetoric, or Frank Riggs, a former US Congressman and the only candidate who has both military and law enforcement experience? Riggs served as a military policemen and military police investigator in the U.S. Army and as a police officer and deputy sheriff after leaving the military.  Riggs took the same oath when he enlisted in the Army as when he was sworn into Congress: to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.  As governor, Frank Riggs will take an oath to secure our border, repeal Common Core and restore local control over K-12 education, and ensure that his fellow vets get the healthcare they need...and have earned! In a crowded field, Frank Riggs is the tested, proven and most experienced candidate ...and the clear conservative choice with a consistent record!  He's walked his talk and has shown time and again, he'll be the courageous governor we want and the strong governor we need.

·       Gubernatorial Candidate Frank Riggs: Today, absentee ballots will start dropping in mailboxes across Arizona and I'm writing to ask that you make your voice heard and vote Frank Riggs for Arizona Governor! We've come a long way since this race began. Our campaign was labeled the "underdog" and "dark horse" by the insiders, but throughout the past few months we've rallied support across the state as voters join our growing team of concerned citizens who want to stop the Obamanization of Arizona, repeal Common Core, and protect our conservative values. We're less than a month from the August 26 primary, and from achieving what we've set out to do: Winning this election. As absentee ballots begin to drop, I encourage you to help us spread the word about my campaign by: Completing your ballot and voting Frank Riggs for Arizona Governor.  Chipping in generous amount you can afford to help us share our conservative message with voters across Arizona over the closing days of this campaign. Thank you for your continued support!

·       CD2 Candidate Martha McSally:  We have less than 16 HOURS until our July fundraising deadline. We set our goal high this month because, the truth is...Ron Barber is ahead. He's got a $400,000 cash advantage over us, and you can believe he'll use every bit of that to spread lies about Martha and distort his own partisan record. We need the resources to fight back. We have until midnight and still have to raise $16,492 to meet our July goal. Hitting this would be a huge step forward to closing in on Barber's cash advantage, but we still have work to do.  contribute  The stakes are high. Our grassroots network has come up big to support Martha, but we're up against Nancy Pelosi and her big-money Washington allies. They've poured in over $1.5 million to run attack ads against Martha - and they're working. Martha brings the fresh perspective we need to create more jobs, reign in government overreach, and ensure our national security, and, together, we'll succeed in electing a true leader to represent Southern Arizona.

·       State Treasurer Candidate Randy Pullen: Today early ballots are being dropped in the mail and it is crucial we get the word out that I am the only proven Conservative and CPA in the race for State Treasurer. Our campaign has been building momentum and we’re ready to finish strong over the final weeks of this campaign. The outpouring of support and encouragement I’ve received has been humbling and I know we can achieve victory on August 26 if we continue to outwork our opponents. I look forward to serving as your next State Treasurer, but need your help to have the chance. Chip in

·       CD9 Candidate Wendy Rogers: As you read this message, absentee ballots are being delivered to mailboxes across Arizona’s 9th District. I’m writing today to ask for your vote and to encourage you to spread the word about my campaign. We must defeat Kyrsten Sinema in November. To insure we beat her, we need a decisive victory in the Republican Primary on August 26. Our campaign has received overwhelming support across the district, but it’s time to turn that support to votes. Cast your ballot for me, Wendy Rogers. I will work unrelentingly to defeat Kyrsten Sinema. We need principled, effective leadership to represent us and I have the experience to get the job done on day one. I’m looking forward to representing our district in Congress, and with your support, I know I’ll have the opportunity. chip  in  It’s time for us to sprint to the finish line!

·       Supt Of Public Instruction Candidate Diane Douglas: My primary challenger recently sent out a mailer that is a complete fabrication. His claims about my positions on the issues are completely false. I cannot stop Mr. Huppenthal from lying about his record but I will not allow him to distort my record. (1) I have never supported Common Core and I never voted for it when I served on the Peoria School Board. (2)I have never supported, endorsed, or donated to any Democrat candidate. (3) I have always been an outspoken and ardent support of parents’ right to choose the best education for their children including district, charter, private, and home schooling. Parents must be actively involved in deciding what is best for their children.   Mr. Huppenthal has been in government for 30 years. He may feel it is acceptable to lie and distort the truth. I am asking for your vote so I can restore honesty and decency back to the office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. To keep up with the latest news, please join us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Thank you for your support and don't forget to tell your friends about our campaign. We are still accepting donations for seed money. contribute. The maximum is $160 but any amount is welcome.

·       Tempe City Council Candidate Matt Papke: It is go time! In a matter of hours early ballots will start hitting mailboxes; shortly thereafter votes for our campaign will start coming in. We have stood alone as the only candidate willing to talk about the real issues Tempe faces: Debt, Crime and Corporate Welfare. Not one candidate of the other 6 was willing to even discuss the need to pay down our debt or have a real balanced budget. That is their choice; the voters can see them for who they are. Big spending corporatists. When it comes to communicating I do not need a script to read from. I find it is best to speak from the heart.  Please help us carry our message forward by donating today.  We have placed: 350 road signs, 300 yard signs and knocked on nearly 12,000 voters doors. We are here to win. Our mailers will be hitting mailboxes any day. There is a tremendous cost to do this. We have a big list of voters to mail. The cost is in excess of $20,000. If you have not signed up for our Candidate Command Center now is the time. Our Get Out the Vote effort will be the talk of the town.  We are in it to win it. Please sign up here and help us get out the vote! Tempe deserves a public servant who will not cower to the corporate interests that have been having a field day in our city. Let's make a final push to win out right in the primary. Together we can do great things.

LD23 House Candidate Effie Carlson: It’s the sprint to the finish for our campaign. It is imperative that you let all of your friends and family in Scottsdale and Fountain Hills know that you support Effie for LD 23 House. Recent polls have shown that this race is tight between all four candidates, so we need your help today!  Here are some easy ways you can help spread the word….  1 - Send an e-mail expressing your support for Effie. E-mail LMHoberg@cox.net for a template to get you started.  2 - Make a post on Facebook that expresses your support for Effie. Request a yard sign. 3 - Spend a few hours distributing door hangers
with us this Saturday morning (8:30 – 10:30 am). Looks like there is a cool front moving in. 4 - Invite a few friends to the following events: LD 23 Candidate Forum - Focus On Education Hosted at 6 pm, Aug 4 at Arizona Mustang Library, 10101 N 90th St, Scottsdale. Back to school meet and greets. Bring your early ballots! Thanks for your continued support!  Aug 4 -  11am-1pm,  Peter Piper Pizza, 15745 N Hayden Rd.  Aug 6 -  9am-11am, The Good Egg, 6149 N Scottsdale Rd. Aug 7 – 9am-11 am, The Good Egg, 20567 N. Hayden Rd. Aug 8 -  5:30 – 7:30pm,  Peter Piper Pizza, 15745 N Hayden Rd .Aug 13 -  1:30 – 3:30pm,   AZ Airtime  (First early release day).
