·       1st Vice Chairman Of The Arizona Republican Party Russell Pearce Today Submitted His Resignation to Robert Graham, Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party.  Pearce made the following statement: "As an unapologetic conservative, I've stood up for the rule of law and our constitutional freedoms. I love this great Republic, and have loved serving Arizona and my service with the Republican party. Recently on my radio show there was a discussion about the abuses to our welfare system. I shared comments written by someone else and failed to attribute them to the author. This was a mistake. This mistake has been taken by the media and the left and used to hurt our Republican candidates. I do not want the progressive left and the media to try and take a misstatement from my show and use it to attack our candidates. I care about the Republican party and its conservative platform too much to let them do that. Yet I have to recognize that hosting a radio show and the nature of the debates that we have had and will continue to have are incompatible with what our Party needs from its leadership team.  For that reason, I am submitting my resignation as a Vice Chairman of the Republican party. I will never back down from standing up for what I believe in and I will continue to fight for the principles that our founding generation risked their lives for. But I have no intention of being used as a distraction by the Democrats looking to escape responsibility for their failed policies.  It is time to return the focus to where it belongs, and that is the direction that our state and country should be headed towards.  Let’s get back to winning in November!”

·       Arizona Citizens Defense League (AzCDL) Is Raffling Three sound suppressed pistol packages (Ruger 22/45.22 caliber pistol with threaded barrel) at it’s annual meeting  scheduled Oct 11 in Phoenix.  AzCDL will pay the $200 Federal Transfer Tax required for suppressor ownership, for qualified winners. Only 900 tickets have been printed and each ticket represents 3 chances to win.  Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at gun shows and other events where AzCDL has a table.  Tickets may also be purchased at AzCDL’s online store (scroll near the bottom). Winners do not have to be present for the drawing.  However, winners must comply with all federal, state, and local laws, and must pick up the firearms from a federally licensed (FFL) firearms dealer.  If a winner does not qualify for possession of the sound suppressor, only the firearm will be transferred.  In some jurisdictions, possession of a firearm with a threaded barrel is illegal.  In cases where we cannot transfer the winning pistol, no substitution will be made and the winner waives all rights to the firearm.  If the winner does not qualify under federal, state, or local law for the possession of these firearms, their ticket is invalid and a new winner will be drawn.

·       Attorney General Candidate Mark Brnovich: "Recent comments made by Russell Pearce regarding the forced sterilization of women are unrepresentative of the Republican Party I know. The notion that government would force sterilization upon anyone is counter to everything I believe about individual liberty and contrary to the founding principles of a free nation. My family knows something about government tyranny. In the 1950s, my mother fled the horrors of communism in Yugoslavia, and her first-hand experiences have helped shape my core beliefs in a government that is effective, efficient and limited. Comments that demean the plight of the poor, including women in the dual role of mother and economic provider, are not conservative; they’re cruel. And I reject them. It is one of the great failings of the Obama administration and, truthfully, our society as a whole, that so many in our nation have grown dependent upon government subsidy and support. But the path to self-sufficiency lies in economic opportunity and personal responsibility, not shame." About Mark Brnovich -  Raised in Arizona, Mark Brnovich is a graduate of Arizona State University. After law school, Mark prosecuted felonies in the Gang/Repeat Offender Bureau of the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and worked as an Assistant Attorney General for Arizona and as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona. Mark also served his country as the Command Staff Judge Advocate for the 153rd Field Artillery Brigade of the Arizona Army National Guard for eight years. Mark met his wife Susan while both were working as prosecutors. They live in Phoenix with their two daughters.  For more information, please visit www.Mark4AZ.com
