Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day

·       Gov Jan Brewer - Veterans Day: “On Tuesday, Americans will pause to pay tribute to the men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces. Throughout history, our veterans have sacrificed life and limb – at home and abroad, in times of peace, war and uncertainty – to defend our values and protect our way of life. We are blessed to live in freedom, and among heroes who risk everything to ensure it.To the brave soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen who have worn their uniform with pride and served our country with integrity, we thank you. To those who laid down their lives in the name of American independence, we will never forget you. To all current and future service members, we keep you and your families in our thoughts, and pray that God keeps you safe in your honorable mission.”

·       Douglas’ Victory A Mandate To End Common Core In Arizona: Diane Douglas has been declared the winner in the election for Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction by the Associated Press. The AP released their statement on Sunday, saying there were not enough uncounted ballots to reverse Douglas’ lead. Throughout the campaign, the news media labeled Douglas as a single issue candidate because of her unwavering opposition to Common Core. The news coverage focused on the national standards being proposed for Arizona. Douglas faced a tsunami of outside spending on the superintendent’s election. Independent expenditure groups spent just over $800,000 to either attack Douglas or promote her challenger. Only one outside group spent $1,178 in support of Douglas. The amount and ratio, 680 to 1, was unprecedented for a state superintendent’s election. “Our victory is clearly a mandate to implement Arizona based and controlled education standards. The news coverage made it clear to voters that a vote for Diane Douglas was a vote against Common Core. We faced an onslaught of outside spending and still emerged victorious because the voters do not want Common Core in Arizona,” stated Douglas. She added, “Few candidates survive a barrage of outside spending like we faced. My campaign was the clearest way for the citizens of Arizona to reject Common Core and that is what they did with this election.”   info@dianedouglas.com  623-428-9756

·       Secretary Of State-Elect Michele Reagan announced Betsey Bayless will chair her transition team.  Bayless, who has a public service career spanning 40 years in Arizona, served as Arizona’s Secretary of State from 1997 to 2003.   “For many years, I have been a staunch supporter of Michele Reagan and I am proud to support her in this new role as Arizona Secretary of State.  It is a giant leap from the Legislature to the Executive Branch and, if my past experience can help smooth that transition, I want to help.  We will be conducting a statewide search for the best people to surround Michele to allow her to hit the ground running,” said Bayless. The transition team which serves as an advisory board on personnel and operational decisions prior to Reagan’s official swearing in, is still being assembled and should be announced within the week. “I’m very proud to have someone with such extensive knowledge and insight into the Secretary’s office.  Betsey will provide valuable guidance to our team as we seek to ensure a seamless transition from one administration to the next,” said Reagan.

·       Obama-Mocked-Front-Page-Major-Newspaper   The day after the elections, the NY Post ran a front page cover openly mocking Obama.
