·       Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-08) and Congressman Paul Gosar (AZ-04) released the following statement regarding the Keep the Promise Act, introduced today by Franks:

Franks: “The Tohono O’odham Nation’s actions are contrary to the public commitments the tribe made between 2000 and 2002 to the 16 other Indian tribes in Arizona, the State, and the voters of Arizona when it supported passage of Proposition 202, a state referendum to limit casino gambling in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Indeed, this bill merely restricts the ability of tribes to game on the very lands on which they agreed they would not game, thus halting a precedent that could easily lead to an expansion of off-reservation casinos and dangerous changes to the complexion of tribal gaming in other states across the country.”

Gosar: “This 114th Congress must make it a priority to pass the Keep the Promise Act, sponsored by my good friend and colleague Congressman Trent Franks. This legislation ensures that the promise of no additional casinos in the Phoenix area is kept until the existing tribal-state gaming compacts expire, without interfering in the trust acquisition itself. No entity, governmental or otherwise, should be rewarded for deceptive conduct that violates a compact approved by the people of Arizona. Time is of the essence and failure to enact this legislation will set a dangerous precedent that harms tribes in rural communities, is contradictory to the will of voters and ultimately results in a free-for-all, Nevada-style gaming takeover of Arizona.”

·       PC Teresa Ottesen Binder, Pinal County: Our next Congressional Races are not far from now. We Republicans we need to support viable Republicans for Congress. We need cleaner races to ensure that we turn all of our state red. Most importantly we need leaders that live within and have dedicated their time, talent and resources towards their Congressional Districts. While we know you don't have to live in a district to run in a district we do need to focus on the district and the place that we have called home. I personally believe future candidates should be long-time residents in the districts that they choose to run in.

Health care should be based on the fundamental principle of freedom, and Americans should be able to have the ability to make their own health care decisions without fear that the government will extract onerous penalties from them. That is why we reintroduced The ObamaCare Opt-Out Act of 2014 in the Senate last week, important legislation that will allow Americans to opt-out of the individual mandate for health insurance coverage required by ObamaCare… As the 114th Congress gets underway, we will continue to make this bill a priority and work to restore Americans’ freedom to buy affordable health insurance that works for them because they know what’s best for their families, not the Obama administration.” –Sens John McCain (R-AZ) and John Barrasso (R-WY)

•A call to tie the income tax rate to inflation. "This is an issue of fairness for all Arizonans so let's get it done this session"

On Budgetary Cost Cutting
• Shut down Arizona's DC lobbying office.
• Hiring freeze for state jobs while protecting vital services.

•Appoint an Inspector General to review state government spending.

On Growing The Economy

• "Wherever we find any regulation that is outdated, irrational, unfair, or destructive to free and honest enterprise in Arizona – that regulation will be gone."
• "You'll have my full attention when you send me any bill that has the purpose of advancing free enterprise"
• Request for a bill requiring a business owner on the Reg. Review Council
On Education
• "There's a bi-partisan bill called the American Civics Bill. Send it to my desk and I'll sign it"
• "Let's make open enrollment and public choice a reality."
• "For consistently underperforming schools it's time for a change in management."
On Settling The Education Funding Lawsuit
