·       A Two Year Decline In Arizona Republican Voter Registrations is revealed in the Secretary of State’s Voter Registration Records for the 2014 Election Cycle (Jan 2013 - Nov 2014):  Comparing the January 2013 Total Republican Registration numbers (1,147,543) to the November 2014 Republican Registration numbers (1,114,743)  shows the loss of  32,800 Republican voters over the past two years.

·       Republican Registration Has Dropped To Second Place -- below the Independents -- for the first time in state history. This two-year decline in the AZGOP voter registration  is not a good sign –considering the glowing reports we were getting last summer about the number of doors the Get Out The Vote (GOTV) teams were knocking on all across the state. Obviously we are losing ground instead of gaining registered Republicans.  If Arizona is to remain a ‘Red State,’ the AZGOP State Committeemen must select strong, aggressive leaders next Saturday - who are willing to roll up their sleeves and “get ‘er done” as we move toward the 2016 elections.  – FT

·       The 2014 Elections, Both Primary And General, brought forth some pretty ugly mudslinging between both major parties, both internally and externally - in Arizona. Now it appears to have carried over into the county and state GOP officer elections.

·       Whoever is placing the anonymous ‘hit piece’ on vehicle windshields at GOP events is leaving a bad impression of the party. Drivers say the unsigned ‘smear piece’ – directed at AZGOP Chairman candidate Lori Urban -  was left on windshields at both the Jan 10 MCRC Statutory meeting and at the Swearing -in Ceremonies at the State Capitol. The mysterious flyer has no identification on it as to who is financing/distributing it -- which makes the vehicle owners wonder what kind of person hides behind this kind of anonymous attack.

·       AZGOP Treasurer Candidate Ardith Hildebrant’s note to AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham and AZGOP Treasurer Timothy Lee this afternoon reads:  “As you stated there have been several audits performed over the last two years.  I am requesting online access or paper copies to be provided to me for my own review.  Specifically I am requesting all reports produced by your “outside independent auditors” for 2013 and 2014 both FEC and SOS. I already have access to the FEC Audit reports so there is no need to provide those. Please make these available to me no later than 5PM, Tuesday, January 20, 2015.”

·       Timothy Lee, Who Has Been The AZGOP Treasurer For Nearly A Decade, informed the Briefs that he would be retiring from the AZGOP politics early yesterday morning  before Ms Hildebrant’s press release surfaced. 1-16-15-mcrc-briefs.html  Several months ago Lee moved into LD24, where he is an elected PC but not an elected State Committeemen.  Since early December, reports have circulated throughout the Maricopa County GOP inner-circle that Lee would be appointed a LD24 State Committeeman by the State AZGOP Chairman to fill a vacated LD24 State Committeeman’s position in time for the Jan 24 AZGOP Statutory Meeting - so Lee could run for re-election. It became apparent to Lee late this week that the awaited appointment was not forth coming. Yesterday, he retired effective Jan. 24.

·       In The Meantime, LD13 PC And State Committeeman Jonathon Lines from Yuma, filed for AZGOP Treasury candidacy.  Lines said he filed on Jan 5 after he was told by an AZGOP insider at the Inauguration ceremonies that no one was running for Treasurer position. Lines said he is running solo. Treasure Candidate Ardith Hildebrant joined Lori Urban’s slate.  Folks, this is not a ‘mom and pop’ operation bookkeeping job, the state party treasurer has to deal with about a half dozen or so internal accounts that subdivide every which way and numerous FEC and other reports that would drive an untrained person up a wall, according to a high ranking GOP official.
