·       Republican Party of Maricopa Chairman Tyler Bowyer has announced that the monthly Executive Guidance Committee (EGC) will move from the first Thursday to the first Wednesday of the month effective March 4.  He said the change is because Thursday evening seems to conflict with clubs, city councils and school board meetings.  Meetings will continue to start at 7 pm sharp in the AZGOP headquarters, 3501 N. 24th St., Phx.  Contact: Bowyer at 480-239-0025

·       The word is out… Gov Doug Ducey will soon be naming former Secretary of State Ken Bennett as an agency head.

·       Arizona Federation of College Republicans will host a fundraiser featuring Congressman David Schweikert at 6:30pm, Sat., April 18 at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort, 7200 N Scottsdale Road, Paradise Valley, AZ 85253. Tickets: $75 or $140/couple.  Table of 10: $650.  RSVP: Zoey Kotzambasis at   or (520) 591-6191. All proceeds will benefit the Arizona Federation of College Republicans.

·       Former Maricopa County Republican Chairman A J LaFaro is losing patience with the lack of action by the AZGOP on the “Close the Primary’ resolutions that were passed by both the Maricopa County Republicans and the AZGOP at their January Statutory meetings. Similar lack of AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham’s action on closing primaries was also a topic of concern of Paradise Republican Women’s Club Chairman Lori Urban during her campaign for the AZGOP Chairmanship in January.  The Jan 13 Yellow Sheet reports that the “Arizona Republican Party may be on the verge of a legal battle over an attempt to close its primary elections to independents.”  YS reports LaFaro as saying,  “Independent registered voters are not affiliated with a party, so they’re not affiliated with a party platform. They’re not affiliated with the values of a recognized party. To have an independent voter be able to pull a Republican ballot in an Arizona primary and not have those beliefs or values of the party platform, then they are going to adversely affect the outcome.”   LaFaro says the resolution was a directive, not a request and he charges AZGOP Robert Graham with dragging his feet on the issue, while AZGOP spokesman Tim Sifert declares that the state executive committee hasn’t met since the election of new officers on Jan 24.

·       Early Projections Indicated The City Of Phoenix would face a budget deficit between $14 million and $54 million for the upcoming year, however, a series of decisions by the  Mayor and City Council have put the city on track for a balanced budget. See

·       LD5 Sen Kelli Ward is accepting contributions/donation checks for her US Senate bid  to unseat Sen John McCain. Checks can be sent to  KelliPac, PO Box 11786, St Mohave, AZ 86427.  Electronic contributions and a KelliPAC website will be available soon.

·       LD23 PC/Scottsdale Businessman Alex Meluskey has also tossed his hat in the senate race to replace Sen John McCain, who was censured by the AZGOP, Maricopa County and several others counties in 2014.  Meluskey,  a Scottsdale area precinct committeeman, lists his Concerns for Arizona as:

ü  Our Governments Failure To Serve Our Veterans:  The men and women who sacrifice their lives to protect us deserve nothing less than our best work ensuring they are given the best care when they come back to civilian life.  We can do that, so therefore we must.

ü  The Ever Expanding Role And Size Of Government: Our Federal government is here to protect us from foreign threats at home and abroad, and also to punish those that seek to do us harm. After this, the government should get out of our way so we can self-govern our actions within the rule of law.

ü  The Struggles Of Small Business & American Workers: Bad Regulations, bad laws and a bad international corporate competitiveness rating create an environment hostile to the great American Dream.

ü  Failure Of Conservatives Reaching Out To Minority Communities:  It is “We the People”, not “Some of the People”. One of the greatest strengths of our great Nation is our diversity. All good people coming to the table guaranteeing all voices are heard.  There is no reason for those who believe in the Founder’s Principles, to not come to the table offering intelligent discussion bettering our nation.

ü  Viable Tax Reform That Eliminates The Internal Revernue Service:  Simply put, our Tax-Code is a monster and, it needs to be eliminated so the people do not have to suffer through the immoral nightmare of the IRS and the income tax.

ü  Border Security That Makes Sense: We are neglecting the safety of all American citizens when we ignore our border problems.  This is unconstitutional and immoral.

ü  Imigration Policy That Streamlines The Process:  Our immigration policy is flawed.  Amnesty is not the answer because it encourages those that break the law, and also enslaves them into the system without answering the problem.  Coupled with a strong border policy, we can then proceed to fix the flawed immigration policy, not unlike the policies we had in place 100 years ago.

ü  The Second Amendment: The right of self-preservation and self-protection is inherent in all persons, communities, and societies, which is why I will defend the indispensable provisions of our second amendment.  Shall not infringe means, shall not infringe.

ü  Judeo-Christian Values: Judeo-Christian values, as articulated in the Declaration of Independence, are the foundation of our republic.  I will defend the defenseless from conception to natural death and oppose any attempt to redefine marriage.

·       It's Ridiculously Expensive To-Fly-Air-Force-One   Taxpayers fork over $206,337 every hour the world's most famous plane is in flight, according to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) letter obtained by the nonprofit Judicial Watch. The FY15 cost per flying hour for Air Force One (VC-25A) includes "fuel, flight consumables, depot level repairs, aircraft overhaul, and engine overhaul," according to the letter from the Department of the Air Force Headquarters Air Mobility Command to Judicial Watch. According to the National Taxpayer Union Foundation, President Barack Obama has traveled internationally more than any other president, and he has done it on the "most expensive-to-operate Air Force One to date."

Just north of Wickenburg, ADOT started this week on the expansion of US 93 between State Route 71 and State Route 89 (mileposts 185-190). The $12.5 million project, reconstructing the highway into four lanes, is expected to be completed in 2016. See more
