·       To The Readers Who Sent In Questions regarding the Congressional District Caucus, Briefs is waiting for an official explanation from the AZGOP headquarters.

      Reader questions include:

1.     I have never heard of the Congressional District Caucus before.  What is it and how are the folks elected?  Who elects them?

2.     What is this Congressional District Caucus and how were these members selected?

3.     Why were we never made aware of this and how did xxxx xxxx and xxxxxx get selected?

4.     What qualifies them?  Is this an official Congressional Caucus? So when did all this start?  Sounds like they were appointed.

5.     Were you able to find out anything about the Congressional District Caucus?  Nobody seems to know what it is.  This is troubling.

UPDATE:   You may want to include a link to the AZGOP bylaws about the Congressional District Caucus questions since many new PCs may not be aware of them. Specifically, Article III Section G and Article IV Section C refer to last month's meeting.  Article VI Sections B, C, D, and E will apply to the 2016 State Convention, although that Congressional District Caucus will be for a different purpose. ·       In Chatting With Someone From The Inner Circle In DC this afternoon, we conversed about the horrible treatment of the Jordanian pilot and other worldwide terrorist victims. My contact mentioned the lack of outcry from the American people. I responded, “The American people are tired of not being heard when they do protest or express their opinions.”  The contact suggested:  Maybe it would be helpful if every disgruntled, concerned, frustrated and/or angry citizen would call the White House switchboard instead of the congressional offices.  Or even call the WH AND the DC offices of every member of Congress.  People complain here and we pass it on.  That’s as far as it seems to go.  If the Washington office switchboards got overloaded and shut down, I think people could get more attention.  I’m just thinking that’s what happened several years ago when Bush tried to do “Comprehensive Immigration Reform”.  Remember???”   So…. Here is the information for contacting the US Senate, US House,  Arizona delegation and the White House Switchboard.  Keep those phone lines jingling.  Let them know whether you approve or disapprove of how they are voting and how you feel about the issues that are important to you.

·        Call The White House with comments -- 202-456-1111. Switchboard -- 202-456-1414. Contact Senate or Representatives   Let them know how you feel about various issues. Hold their feet to the fire. They wanted to represent grassroots America, hold them accountable. And don’t forget to be polite.   Arizona delegation phone numbers:

·       Congressman Matt Salmon: I'm sure you heard the story of Grant Ronnebeck, a 21-year old QuikTrip clerk who was senselessly murdered just weeks ago.  I wanted to make sure you saw the press release and letter that I sent my fellow members in the House about stopping the wholesale nullification of our immigration system through the President's dangerous catch-and-release policies. The administration has a duty to enforce all of our laws so that tragedies like this don't happen again.  I will continue to fight day and night against these unlawful acts until this administration finally does its job and protects our citizens. It's an honor serving you in Washington, and I look forward to seeing you in Arizona.

·       Congressman Paul Gosar: “Last week, the president scrapped his proposal to tax 529 college savings plans in order to pay for his utopian vision of "free" community college. I heard from countless constituents who were outraged at the idea of punishing parents who plan ahead and apparently the President got your message. When the American people are engaged with today's important issues and voice their opposition to big government tax-and-spend policies like this one, we can effectively fight back against the presidents far-left political agenda. You can watch the interview I had on the Fox Business Network regarding this topic by clicking the picture below.”

·       Congressman Paul Gosar: This year, I will continue to have a "Military Monday" post on my Facebook page where I highlight a veteran or active service member who lives in Arizona's 4th district. Arizona is home to more than 500,000 veterans and these heroes deserve our recognition and appreciation. If you would like to nominate a veteran or active service member who lives in the 4th district, please send me a direct message through Facebook with their name and phone number along with a brief explanation detailing their military service. I am extremely proud to have two outstanding veterans serving on my staff who continue to serve and support their fellow veterans. Sean Johnson served in the Marines and saw combat in Afghanistan. Larry Renken served in the Army and saw combat in Vietnam. Veterans know how to get the job done and I encourage all business owners to hire veterans like Sean and Larry.
