·       LD13 Precinct Committeemen Should have Received Their Call Letters for a 7 pm., Tues., April 28 ‘special election’ meeting to fill the vacancy of former LD13 Chairman Richard ‘Dick’ Landis, who resigned April 2.  Acting Chair Wallie Campbell, first vice chairman, named Second Vice-chair Ben Boone as the nominations chairman. Anyone wishing to run for the LD13 chairmanship should contact Boone at .  Nominations will also be accepted from the floor.  The election will be held in the Chianti Room of the PebbleCreek Tuscany Falls Clubhouse, 16222 Clubhouse Drive, Goodyear, AZ 85395.

·       Ken Cuccinelli II, President Of The Senate Conservatives Fund, didn’t pull any punches in his memo today regarding tomorrow’s senate vote on the confirmation of Loretta Lynch for US Attorney General. Cuccinelli writes, “Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has decided to give the Democrats what they want rather than blocking this extreme and unqualified nominee. Also, because of Senator McConnell's unwillingness to reverse the decision by Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) to eliminate the filibuster on nominations, the Democrats only need four Republicans to vote with them to confirm Loretta Lynch.” In her confirmation hearings, Lynch could not identify any limits on the president's executive power and said she believes executive amnesty is legal and constitutional. The only difference between Loretta Lynch and Eric Holder is that Lynch has told everyone that she will ignore the law Before her confirmation vote. Voting to confirm Lynch now would be a clear violation of a senator's oath to support and defend the Constitution noting that five Republicans intending to vote for Lynch’s nomination.

1.     Susan Collins (R-ME) – (202) 224-2523

2.     Jeff  Flake (R-AZ) – (202) 224-4521

3.     Lindsay Graham (R-SC) – (202) 224-5972

4.     Orrin Hatch (R-UT) – (202) 224-5251

5.     Mark Kirk (R-IL) – (202) 224-2854

Cuccinelli requests Republicans call and urge them to oppose the nomination of Loretta Lynch for Attorney General.  Click here for contact information for all 100 senators.

·       Cuccinelli Further Cautions, “Please don't be fooled when Senator (Mitch) McConnell votes against the nomination. If he truly opposed Lynch, he would have either blocked her nomination from reaching the floor, gotten 51 Republicans to oppose her, or reversed Harry Reid's "nuclear option" so the nomination could be filibustered with 41 votes. McConnell is more interested in cutting deals with Democrats so the media will say he's "governing" than he is with defending the Constitution. If you want call Senator McConnell, his phone number is (202) 224-2541. Ask him why he isn't working to "crush" liberal nominations like he works to "crush" conservative Senate candidates.

Also, don't be fooled when Senator John McCain (R-AZ) votes against the Lynch nomination. The timing of his opposition is all too convenient. McCain has a record of supporting liberal judges and Executive Branch nominees, including Breyer and Ginsburg for the Supreme Court, and Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and Eric Holder for cabinet positions. McCain would be supporting the Lynch nomination too if he wasn't running for re-election in 2016 and vulnerable to a primary challenge,”

·       Rand-Paul: John-McCain Obamas Lapdog  … wrong about every foreign policy issue for the past two decades.

·       McCain-Calls-Paul-Worst-Possible-Candidate-On-National-SecurityIn the latest episode in an escalating feud between Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz, and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., McCain tells Fox News’ Neil Cavuto that the 2016 presidential hopeful is ‘the worst possible candidate of the 20 or so that are running on the most important issue, which is national security.’

·       Recall Has Been The Hot Button Topic since the AZGOP State Executive Committee meeting last Saturday. For those asking for recall information, see the AZGOP Bylaws   Article IV, Sec D. Removal of officers.

·       A Photo Has Surfaced Showing A Couple of good sized ‘Primary McCain’ Posters of Sen John McCain attached to the outside wall of the AZGOP Building. There is no visible date, nor photo credit with it. The ‘anti closed meeting’ protestors on the scene April 18 say they ‘absolutely did not’ put the posters on the building.  Photos taken at the protest reveal clean walls so the question remains…who put them there and when?  GOP-Headquarters-In-Phoenix-Hit-With McCain Posters

·       Supt of Public Instruction Diane Douglas today announced with deep regret that Dr. Jennifer M. Johnson, the Deputy Superintendent of Programs and Policy for the Arizona Department of Education (ADE), will be leaving the Department to pursue other professional opportunities. “I am very impressed with Dr. Johnson and the great work she has done for the Department, the people of Arizona and most importantly the education of our children over the last several years,” said Superintendent Douglas. “Since starting in 2012, Dr. Johnson has been a source of stability during years of rapid change in education policy and a tough funding environment. These challenges have made her contributions even more significant.”

·       Gov Doug Ducey Regarding A Change In Adoption Practices he is making at the Arizona Department of Child Safety: “I have made it abundantly clear since day one that my administration is unambiguously and unapologetically pro-adoption. With 17,000 children under the state’s care, we need more adoption in Arizona, not less. That’s why I feel strongly – as I have said many times before – that all loving families should be able to serve as foster parents and adopt. I also have said my administration will follow the law. Practices have been brought to my attention that do not match those priorities, therefore, I’m instructing the Arizona Department of Child Safety to immediately ensure that all legally married couples in Arizona are able to jointly serve as foster parents and adopt. All children deserve a loving home, and under my watch, I’m committed to making sure government encourages that."

·       Steve Chucri: As Chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, I was pleased to introduce HB 2063; limited county employee merit system. This bill addresses the current needs of the workforce within Maricopa County. Previously, the County Board of Supervisors was limited in regard to the employee merit system. The language of the bill removes the archaic confines of the arbitrary 10 percent when deciding how many employees should be considered “uncovered.” This bill paves the way to restructure hiring and disciplinary processes and sets the stage for pay for performance.  Maricopa County is a complex business with 50 separate lines of service, operating in a fiercely competitive market. We can no longer be governed by this decades-old system when it comes to the development of the public sector workforce that the county and its taxpayers need. Gov Ducey signed the bill into law on April 13.

·       Prescott Valley Parks/Recreation Commission will give free trees to residents between 10 am and noon, Fri, April 24 at Antelope Park, 8075 E Powers Ave., in recognition of Arbr Day.

·       The Prescott Valley Clean-up Day is scheduled from 8am – 4 pm., Sat., May 2.

·       Americans For Prosperity Has Launched Reform America 2015, out an achievable agenda for lawmakers in Congress that is full of changes they can make immediately to get government out of the way and improve lives. Last Thursday, the House of Representatives voted to repeal the estate tax, otherwise known as the death tax. This is a tax on a person’s assets at death that hurts everyone by stifling economic growth and confiscating wealth that could keep a lot of small businesses in operation. It's a big victory! Now we need your help to convince the Senate that it is simply wrong to punish Americans who work hard throughout their lives by taking the fruits of their labor when they die. Contact: Brent Gardner, Vice President of Government Affairs - Americans for Prosperity

·       Maricopa County Supervisors Chairman Steve Chucri: The Granite Reef Watershed Drainage Improvements Project, with over 600 properties in the City of Scottsdale,  will be removed from a floodplain. An Intergovernmental Agreement was approved by the Flood Control District’s Board of Directors to cost share the initial phase of the project. The initial phase of the project will design the expansion of existing storm drain systems, including additional catch basins and other storm drain laterals and will acquire property for future detention basins. Future phases will include the construction of those improvements and additional storm drain and channel features. When completed, the overall system will intercept flood water within the Granite Reef Wash watershed and safely convey it to the Indian Bend Wash which outfalls at the Salt River. The Flood Control District, City of Scottsdale, and Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) are partnering on this project, which has been in the works since 2002.

·       Steve Chucri, Maricopa County Supervisors Chairman: Mesa residents will enjoy increased flood protection thanks to a partnership between the City of Mesa and the Flood Control District of Maricopa County to construct five drainage improvement projects in neighborhoods that were devastated by flooding during the 2014 monsoon. The City requested the drainage improvements through the District’s Small Project Assistance Program which contributes construction costs towards projects that are local in nature but pose a safety risk to citizens and property. This collaboration between the City of Mesa and the Flood Control District is a good example of how small projects can have great impacts in our communities. Once constructed, these drainage improvements will help protect many of the families that were impacted by the monsoon storms last year.
