·       Open Letter To Sen John McCain And Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick From The 500 Member Saddlebrooke Republican Club (hard copies being sent to the candidates).  We see that you are running again for the race for the US Senate from Arizona. Our membership will be interested in your views on several subjects.  In addition to your responses to these questions, would you consider making a presentation to our membership or debating your senate opponent in one of our forums here in Saddlebrooke?

ü  The first question: What is your stance on “Sanctuary Cities?”  Many persons are of the opinion that they are unconstitutional or at best illegal.  They seem to serve law-breaking that often leads to more crime.  If you support, or do not support, the existence of Sanctuary Cities would you please explain your reasoning?

ü  The second question:  What is your position concerning the country’s virtually open borders.  We here in Saddlebrooke (in southern Arizona) are concerned that we are not getting accurate information from the Administration about border safety.  Our local people are telling us the border is not safe; that there is a flood of non-citizens coming into Arizona.  Do you think Arizona’s southern border is adequately safeguarded? If not, does this create danger for our Arizona citizens?  Does this create extra expense for Arizona taxpayers?

ü  Third, this community, as seems the rest of the nation, is concerned about the pending agreement with Iran concerning their nuclear program.  We look at this in light of President Obama’s canceling the missile defense program, the reduction of our military budgets, equipment and personnel.  Can you state whether or not you support the principles of the pending agreement?  For either stance please give us your reasons. - Mike Stites, President Saddlebrooke Republican Club  Contact:  Neil MacDonald. Vice President Communications SBRC

·       Former State Senator Lori Klein: I believe John McCain needs to apologize to Donald Trump and all of us. He called those 15,000 people who came down to hear Donald Trump speak the "crazies." I am a former state senator. I voted for McCain for President and senate. He also extends those comments to 18% of the voting public nationally that have propelled Donald Trump to number 1 in the polls. What has John McCain done under his watch other than make our military bases "Gun Free" zones, cut funds to weaken ...our military and benefits for our veterans and then take away their weapons upon their return as if they are defective for serving their country. He has much to apologize for before Donald Trump should applaud his service to out country. I am sure that Donald Trump will Respect and support our veterans and get to the bottom of the corruption that still is prevalent at the VA. Our men and women deserve our gratitude and care but, this Administration and Congress gives more funding to those here illegally (180 Billion) and the hundreds of thousands that Obama is bringing here to our towns from war torn Jihadist countries that are not our friends who are also getting public assistance. We need to get our priorities straight. John McCain's service is very much appreciated. His disdain and immature name calling to those of us who have voted for him deserves an apology. NOW!

·       LD22 PC Mary Platt: Instead of these Democratic recipients giving their political contributions back to Planned Parenthood, I have another idea.  Perhaps these legislators can give these contributions to local charities such as the Child Crisis Center and Crisis Nursery here in Phoenix.  Rather than award Planned Parenthood these taxpayer-funded government health service grants (which is where they receive a large portion of their funding), we as taxpayers should demand that our legislators change that direction of grants to groups that help families and children.  And let’s keep it local.

·       Sanctuary City Crime Wave In 43 States   migration and Customs Enforcement, reacting to congressional fears of a new crime wave from illegal immigrants, has revealed that some 1,800 released by "sanctuary cities" last year were charged with 7,500 new crimes, including rape and child sex abuse. What's more, most, or over 1,000 of the illegals facing criminal charges, are still free, according to an ICE report to Congress.

·       The Northwest Valley Tea Party heard Frank Thorwald, former press secretary for President Ronald Reagan, Tuesday evening. They also viewed the movie “Monumental”  NWV Tea Party address and map information

·       Lilia Dashevsky, former chairman of the Arizona Teenage Republicans,  worked for Congressman Paul Gosar as a press intern for two summers and has now taken a full time position as a staff assistant in his Gold Canyon district office.

·       LD5 Sen Kelli Ward: By now, you’ve heard about the irresponsible, dangerous Iran nuclear deal. You may also hear John McCain attack the deal. But John McCain voted for the Corker bill--a bill that bypasses the constitutional requirement that treaties must be approved by two-thirds of the Senate. Typical career Washington politician. Saying one thing, and doing another.

But it’s worse than that. The Iran deal is bad enough. But John McCain once again surrendered his duty to uphold the Constitution. Instead of doing his job, McCain gave Obama and the liberals everything they wanted without even putting up a fight. As the good conservatives at National Review recently pointed out, the Corker bill guarantees Obama will get his Iran nuclear deal.
The Constitution is crystal clear: All treaties must be passed by the Senate by a two-thirds vote. Period. John McCain voted to shred the Senate’s constitutional power, giving even more power to Obama. Like you, I simply don’t understand why the establishment politicians continue to neuter our Constitution and support ever-increasing government. But it’s got to stop. Now.  As your next Senator, I will Not surrender the Senate’s constitutional powers and I will not surrender to the Iranian mullahs. I’m ready to take the fight to the wimpy establishment politicians. Now I’m asking for your help.

·       Columnist Linda Haas Bentley: McCain and his RINO ilk are delusional. The people have repeatedly made it abundantly clear they want immigration enforcement and punishment for offenders not rewards for illegal conduct. Perhaps it's not the children's fault whose parents brought them here illegally. However, it sure as hell wasn't my fault and I don't want to pay to educate, medicate and incarcerate them any more. If the children are not rewarded with amnesty for the illegal acts of their parents, their parents will have no reason to violate our laws.

·        Former County Attorney Andrew Thomas: Donald Trump's highly successful visit here in Arizona proved, beyond any doubt, the continuing importance of illegal immigration as a national issue. How many more thousands of people must line up in 100-degree heat to cheer such a message before open-border elites get the message?
