·       Congressman Paul Gosar: This week’s ‪‎Military Monday honors Robert Brutinel of Casa Grande, who is a retired U.S. Marine, a small business owner, a plumber and at the age of 91 and has no plans to retire. After enlisting to fight in WWII, Brutinel went on his first assignment to Guadalcanal when he 18-year old, in 1942. In 1945, he found himself at the tip of the spear serving as one of the first Marine parachuters from the 5th Division. He was in Iwo Jima for 34 days, and then sent to Japan for 30 days. While in Iwo Jima, he was part of an elite group of Marines who carried flame throwers. After retiring from the Marines at the age of 22, he went to Arizona Teachers College—now Arizona State University. Upon graduating, he took a plumbing apprenticeship, during which he met and married his wife. Brutinel started Brutinel Plumbing & Electrical Casa Grande AZ in 1949. He belongs to several veterans’ organizations and has marched in Casa Grande’s veteran’s parade. On behalf of a grateful state and nation, I want to sincerely thank Bob for his many years of service and sacrifice.

·     The House of Representatives Today Unanimously Passed Congresswoman Martha McSally’s legislation to improve the management and accountability of new border technology projects. The Border Security Technology Accountability Act, H.R. 1634, follows numerous reports showing Department of Homeland Security acquisition programs are a “high-risk” for waste, fraud, and abuse and is Rep. McSally’s second bill to pass the House. “Southern Arizonans are demanding better border security, and they expect us to do it in the most cost-effective and efficient way possible,” said McSally. “My bill requires cost control mechanisms for new border technology projects, safeguarding taxpayer dollars and improving the oversight of major DHS acquisition programs. I’m glad to see the House act in bipartisan support of my bill, and look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate to send this commonsense legislation to the President’s desk.” Watch McSally’s comments on the House floor HERE

·       Tom Morrissey, Immediate Past Chairman AZ GOP: As I have been saying for quite some time now, Conservatism, in its truest form is not only an ideology, it is a Movement.  Just as what the Democrats have brought us through Barack Obama, also  is a movement, albeit, in a woefully wrong direction. Now, Donald Trump has identified the way he is approaching this campaign as leading a Movement, I say thank you God, our Father in heaven for this revelation. What started in the energy of the Tea Party in 2009 is now bearing fruit in this election cycle through the campaigns of Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz.  Only this time, the money is there to fund the message.  The establishment in our party and the Democrat machine will have to go elsewhere to try to neutralize the tsunami that is already heading their way. Sister and brother Constitutional Conservatives please accept the fact that if there is any hope in getting our country back, that hope rests in our understanding that we  are no longer just a political party, we are indeed a M engaged in restoring our Republic.  trump-tops-cnn-poll-of-2016-republicans-says-he-leads-movement-

·       Republicans Can Send Donations to Maricopa County Republican Committee (MCRC) Treasurer, c/o David Ludwig, 4242 N. 19th Ave., Suite 150, Phoenix AZ, 85015, in an effort to keep the newly opened MCRC GOP office open until a plan can be laid to raise funds to cover the rental fees that AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham ‘stopped payment’ on without notification to the MCRC Chairman and Executive Committee. See 7-21-15 Briefs archives

·       Briefs  Is Still Waiting For Answers to the eight reader questions sent to Graham on July 20 regarding the cancellation of payment on the Tempe Office.  See  7-21-15 Briefs

·       Congressman Paul Gosar: Thank you to everyone who attended my women's leadership conference, "Women on Deck", this past Monday in Scottsdale. We had a great conversation with some of Arizona's most accomplished leaders discussing important topics on building success in business and politics. I look forward to hosting more events like this one in the future.

·       Senate Conservatives Fund President Ken Cuccinelli II: Senate Republican Leader actions on Sunday were further proof that our country is not governed by two opposing parties, but rather a single liberal establishment that advances Washington's priorities. First, Sen Majority Leader Mitch McConnell helped Sen Harry Reid and the Democrats pass an amendment that reauthorizes the Export-Import Bank to reward the lobbyists on K Street.
Then, McConnell helped Reid block a vote on an amendment offered by Sen Ted Cruz that would have prevented lifting sanctions on Iran unless and until Iran recognizes Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state and unless and until Iran releases American hostages.
If this weren't bad enough, McConnell also helped Reid block a vote on an amendment offered by Sen Mike Lee that would have defunded Planned Parenthood so taxpayers wouldn't be forced to fund their abortions.
These two so-called leaders colluded to advance the interests of their corporate cronies instead of working to protect this nation from terrorists and to protect unborn children from being killed for profit. Later today, they will work together to block a simple majority vote on an amendment to repeal Obamacare!!
Call Senate Republicans and express your frustration with McConnell and the GOP leadership.
54 Senate Republicans.
Americans elected a Republican majority in the Senate last year because they believed it would be different than the Democratic majority. Unfortunately, they were lied to and the new Senate is the same as the old Senate. Since getting elected the majority, Senate Republicans have passed a trillion-dollar "cromnibus" spending bill, voted to fund Obamacare, to fund executive amnesty,  to confirm Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and to save the corporate welfare program known as the Export-Import Bank.

                  Let them know

1.     you're upset and feel betrayed.

2.     you're not fooled when they pretend to be conservative by holding show votes that are going to fail.

3.     they can't count on your money or your vote until they change their ways. They work for you! Wake them up and make them listen.@KenCuccinelli / @SCF

·       Iran-Nuclear-Agreement-Mistake-Congress    U.S. Representatives McSally, Franks, Schweikert, Salmon

·       Congressman Paul Gosar: Every year, I have been proud to host Members of Parliament who travel all the way from the United Kingdom to learn more about the United States and our government. This weekend, I had the pleasure of showing off our great state to Andrea Jenkyns and Angela Rayner.  I always enjoy sharing our different leadership experiences while learning about the culture of one of our closest allies.

·       Sen John McCain: “Turkey’s Decision to assist the fight against ISIL is a positive step in the right direction. The use of Turkish bases for U.S. fighter aircraft will improve response times and increase the opportunity to collect intelligence in Syria. The establishment of a humanitarian zone to protect the moderate Syrian opposition as well as ethnic and religious minorities such as the Kurds against Assad, ISIL, al Nusrah, and other violent extremists is consistent with what Senator Graham and I have been advocating for over three years. “However, I am concerned about reports of Turkish forces shelling Kurdish villages inside Syria. As the United States and Turkey enhance our cooperation against ISIL, I believe these mutual efforts will be most effective in collaboration with local forces on the ground, including the Kurds. With Turkey’s help, I urge the President to finally come up with a coordinated regional strategy to put an end to the war on the Syrian people being waged by ISIL and the Assad regime. Our ineffective approach to Syria and Iraq continues to allow mayhem and violence to spread across the region, putting our allies in greater danger and fostering the conditions for an attack on the United States.”

·       Sen John McCain Today On A Report released by Department of Defense (DOD) Inspector General (IG) Jon Rymer titled, “Rights of Conscience Protections for Armed Forces Service Members and Their Chaplains,” which details the results of an 18-month review directed by the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 of how well the military protects the religious freedom of service-members: “As Congress made clear in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014, the United States Armed Forces should be committed to accommodating each and every soldier’s conscience, moral principles, and religious beliefs, and prohibit any member of the military from forcing chaplains to perform religious rites, rituals, or ceremonies that are contrary to their beliefs. While I am encouraged by the results of this critical investigation, which indicate that important progress has been made on this issue, much more needs to be done to protect the religious liberties of service members, their families, and the chaplains that support them.
