Republican Briefs

·       Mike Gulvin to AZGOP  Chairman Robert Graham: With McConnell’s capitulation regarding defunding Planned Parenthood and Obama regime’s creating a treaty allowing Iran to develop nuclear weapons, we have endured long enough the silence, excuses and outright lies from Republican Party ‘leadership’ and too much kowtowing to the Marxist regime that controls DC. When heaped on top the political games played by both parties, these two events have broken this camel’s back. We hereby submit our resignations as District 50 Arizona Republican Precinct Committeemen.

The GOP’s efforts to exclude conservative, Constitution-respecting leaders from the primary is a display of confusion, wrong-headedness and just plain contempt for conservative Americans.

Bush’s pandering for the latino vote is an affront to those who oppose illegal immigration, anchor babies and the ever-expanding welfare state. McCain and Flake’s penchant for ignoring existing laws and attempting to initiate new laws that are only for distraction or for granting amnesty to illegal immigrants is clear;  yet the AZ Republican Party’s endorsement of these two politicians demonstrates the disregard for its conservative members. If a true desire for enforcing existing immigration laws and securing our borders existed within the GOP, we would have long ago clearly seen evidence for it – but there has been absolutely none to see.

We are saddened that this party has become so elitist, weak and ineffectual.  Obama has chipped away at the Constitution and Bill of Rights and destruction of the moral Judeo-Christian foundation of America. His attempt at redefining marriage, promotions of sodomy and lesbianism, murder of the unborn, and antagonism towards Jewish and Christian citizens… are blatantly on display, yet the Republican Party leadership remained silent.

Watergate was nothing compared to the back room deals with the Obama regime by the GOP leadership that will only speed up the dissolution of the GOP.

Professional politicians like Boehner, McConnell, McCain, Flake, J. Bush, Christie, etc., should be swept aside to make room for courageous, real constitutional-defending conservative leaders. Obama has made good on his promise to fundamentally change (destroy) the idea of America.  “Whatever became of the GOP?” Mike Gulvin, Flagstaff  Editor’s Note: Gulvin’s letter was condensed to conform to Briefs 300 word limitation.

·       Update On The LD30 Saga, Inserted Into The Sept 13 Briefs About Noon Today: Although The Maricopa County Republican Committee bylaws do not require a recall petition to specify reasons for recalling a chairman, former LD30 Chairman Timothy Schwartz has responded to MCRC Chairman Tyler Bowyer’s recent request for reasons for removal of current LD30 Chairman Gary Hirsch. Eighty-two of the 146 LD30 Precinct Committeemen (PCs) signed a petition delivered to Bowyer on July 21, requesting a recall election of the current LD30 Chairman. See related story 9-12-15-briefs.html

This is a condensed version of the reasons Schwartz, who submitted the petition, gave to Bowyer a couple of days ago:

ü  On January 7th, 2015, 98 new LD30 Precinct Committeemen were approved by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors (BOS).

ü  In February, Chairman Gary Hirsch had his first Executive Board meeting.  Meeting minutes state that he would "do whatever it took" to see that this group of PC'S was nullified and lost their status.

ü  In April, the May 11 election for District Secretary was announced. Two new BOS approved PC'S were told that they could not be on the ballot as secretary candidates because they did not have legitimate PC status.

ü  76 of newly BOS approved PCs showed up at the May meeting (in person or by proxy) but were told that they would only be signed in as "guests" and not as voting members. Many within the group openly protested during the meeting.

ü  Only 14 members attended the June meeting but the Chairman declared a quorum and conducted a meeting. A Point of Order was raised stating 14 members did not make up a quorum. A second Point of Order was raised, and Hirsch was handed a legal document from Maricopa County verifying the official membership of LD30 was 146.  Hirsch acknowledged getting the document (2 additional witness copies were also given to PC's).   Hirsch claimed he had a quorum and proceeded with the meeting.

ü  In July, Hirsch finally acknowledged the new PCs.  Many were looking for an apology from him, but none was given.

ü  There have been relentless personal attacks made against Schwartz (who with others was instrumental in registering this large group of PC'S)  - during public meetings and via the LD email list.  PCs have been forced to endure this for over 8 months now.

ü  When Hirsch won election late last year, there were many hostile activities taking place. People were walking out of our meetings because of the hostility.  The December (2014) meeting warranted the presence of Maricopa County Sheriff's Deputies.

ü  Giving LD30 a new Chairman is the solution wanted by our members. – Timothy Schwartz

·       LD30 Chairman Gary Hirsch told the Briefs this morning (Mon, Sept 14) that he did not receive a copy of the recall petition from MCRC Chairman Tyler Bowyer until the afternoon of Thurs., Sept 10 as he was on his way out of town.  Due to his phone capabilities he was not able to view the entire petition until he returned to the metropolitan area Sunday evening (Sept 13.)  Upon his return to Phoenix, he sent a copy to his officers.

Hirsch said Bowyer never informed him that he received the recall petition on July 21. Nor was Hirsch notified or included in the Aug 26 MCRC EGC board meeting in which the recall was a topic of discussion.  Hirsch said he became aware of the Aug 26 board discussion a couple of days after the board meeting.

Hirsch said he spoke to Bowyer following the Sept 2 MCRC EGC meeting and that Bowyer admitted that the board had discussion the recall petition at the Aug 26 meeting without Hirsch present to defend himself.  Bowyer promised to provide Hirsch with a copy of the petition, which Hirsch did not receive until Sept 10.

In a memo to his board last night, Hirsch wrote:

I spoke briefly with Chairman Bowyer following the regular MCRC Monthly Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday, September 2. Upon questioning he acknowledged the existence of a recall petition and that a discussion was in fact held in my absence and without my knowledge on August 26. I expressed my disappointment at such shabby and disrespectful treatment of any LD Chairman at the hands of the MCRC Chairman.

“I had to remind Chairman Bowyer that he had taken almost 6 months, from January 10 until July 1, to finally provide the PC appointment forms to LD 30. And that after receiving those forms the EC of LD 30 promptly processed and welcomed all 98 PC by July 8. He took 6 months and we completed our work in only 7 days. That is a fact.

I also reminded Chairman Bowyer he had made numerous, very clear and definitive statements to me and several others that he will never allow a recall of the Chairman in LD 30 . That is also a fact.

“On Tuesday AM, September 8, I received an email from Chairman Bowyer who asked to visit with me via telephone with the statement ‘I'd like to update you on what I have on our end and work with you for a better scenario resolution to the LD30 situation’.   I spoke with the Chairman that afternoon, who's " better scenario"  now included his idea to hold  two elections at some point in the future, one for recall and a second to elected or reelect a Chairman for LD 30. As I expressed my disappointment with his many disingenuous and misleading statements regarding his numerous delays, multiple and changing positions and repeated no recall commitments, he did finally apologize for breaking his no recall commitment. I had to think, ‘Chairman Bowyer, you screwed around for 6 months, now you want ME to take YOUR fall and all you can say is 'I'm sorry?'

“Then, new light was shed on Chairman Bowyer's  "sometime in the future" election scenario when I received a surprise phone call from MCRC Executive Director April Riggins on Friday morning, September 11 asking ME to verify a meeting venue for a September 28 LD 30 Recall election meeting. I informed April Riggins that is likely D.O.A.

This morning Hirsch said he was astounded when he received the phone call from Riggins  on July 11, asking if the regular LD30 meeting place was available on Sept 28 to conduct a recall election.  Hirsch said, “That’s kind of like asking me to make arrangements for my own hanging.”  Ironically, the meeting place is not available on Sept 28, so no venue or date is set a post time.

Bowyers told Briefs several days ago that he and some of the EGC members would attend tonight’s LD30 meeting to ask for their cooperation regarding the recall election meeting.

Hirsch, who was elected chairman in early December 2014, expressed disgust with Bowyer for not addressing issues brought to his attention early in 2015. Hirsch said he has taken the heat and is dealing with the district’s frustrations caused by Bowyer’s delays and failure to follow through with promises regarding re-processing the PC applications.

Hirsch said the LD30 bylaws require that PC application be routed through the LD executive committee for vetting before they are sent to the county chairman, who in turn submits them to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors for approval.

Hirsch said he spoke with Bowyer in January and February regarding irregularities in processing the new PCs and that Bowyer had promised to notify the new PCs via letter 10 days prior to the April meeting than they needed to fill out new PC applications at the LD30 April meeting. Bowyer failed to notify the PCs to file new paper work prior to the April meeting causing further delay.

Complaints also surfaced last week from recall proponents that Bowyer failed to get notification letters out 10 prior to tonight’s meeting (Sept 14) so they could get the election over with and move on.

Hirsch said it is his duty as chairman to follow the LD13 bylaws, so he didn’t allow the new PCs to vote at any meeting until the paper work had been properly re-processed in July. Hirsch claims he finally got the new paper work from Bowyer on July 1. Hirsch and his board had them processed by July 8. “We processed the paper work immediately.  My board and I accomplished in less than a week what Bowyer failed to get done in seven months,” Hirsch said. Those new PCs are now voting members.

Hirsch told Briefs this morning that he will probably run for re-election if the recall election passes.

·       Thursday Evening (Sept 10)  MCRC Chairman Tyler Bowyer told the Briefs he was surprised to receive the recall petition on July 21. He claims, “…We handled it head on, the County's position has always been those folks are PCs even though the process by which they were appointed was irregular and not according to PC approved bylaws. This issue (recall) is separate and brand new and was told to me that it wouldn't occur. Don't get the issue of the current chairman of LD30 confused with our position. We handled it promptly and any PC who contacted me or met with me got the same message: they are duly appointed PCs. They did not ask for a removal election until this past month.”  For further information see  9-12-15-briefs

·       The_False_Idol_Of_Compassion_For_Migrants_And_Refugees   In the 20th century, many Western countries were nearly destroyed by wars of aggression and imperialist ambition.  How the seasons have turned.  In the 21st century, we may see Western nations destroyed by compassion – or less noble impulses masquerading as compassion. There are certainly still a few countries with a sense of self-preservation.  Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu provides an example.  Here is what he said recently, on a tour of his nation's eastern border: Today we see what is happening to countries that have lost control of their borders. The combination of very brutal terrorism, labor migrants, smugglers and the loss of control in the face of the human tragedy that is taking place 360 degrees, says that we must restore control and ensure Israel's control of its borders[.]
