·       Maricopa County GOP's Response To Controversy Regarding Congressman Paul Gosar Fundraising Letter: In the last few days, national and local mainstream media has attempted to create faux controversy over a fundraising letter sent by Congressman Gosar to his supporters that discussed his decision to boycott the Pope's congressional address. Since he announced his decision, Congressman Gosar has been the recipient of more than $400,000 in political attack ads from pro-global warming environmental activists and Arizona Democrats. Earlier this week, the Maricopa County GOP was asked by members of the local media to comment on the fundraising letter. As far as the Republican Party of Maricopa County is concerned, "Congressman Gosar's fundraising letter was a sensible response to the political attacks being hurled at him for weeks by the Arizona Democrat Party and fringe environmentalist, billionaire donor Tom Steyer.  Liberal puppeteers like Steyer and Arizona Democrats have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to attack Congressman Gosar for taking a stand, when they should be holding members of their own party accountable for the decades of failed policies that have led to higher energy costs, a job killing regulatory environment and higher taxes for all Americans." For background (in case you aren't aware of the astroturf controversy):  - Republican Party of Maricopa County Communications Director Jake Hoffman (480) 980-7020
