·       A Simmering Controversy Over the new Yavapai County Chairman Mark Sanders  management style surfaced last Wednesday when several Executive Committee (ExCom) members distributed an “open letter” of  concerns to precinct committeemen.  The letter, signed by current officers Second Vice Chair L. G. Mace, Treasurer Roger Reinsch and Assistant Treasurer Craig Arps allege that Sanders: (Editor’s Note: Contrary to an earlier report, immediate past chairman Jim Dutton, did not sign the letter.)

ü  Overstates the number of newly recruited PCs, noting there are currently 227 PCs, whereas there were 242 two years.

ü  Said YAVGOP would be raising $100,000, whereas it only have $900 which won’t keep them operational for long.

ü  2015 Lincoln/Reagan Day Dinner netted $4987; the 2014 Dinner netted $7783.

ü  Told the Executive Committee they have no say so in the operation of the committee or the office. Twice told them, “I am the chairman, I can do anything I want.”

ü  Refuses to give ExCom members office keys.

ü  Changed the password to the computers system, denying access to the ExCom.

ü  Made fiscal decisions without the consent to the ExCom.

ü  Doesn’t follow Robert Rules of Order.

ü  Appointed two Area Directors before they were appointed PCs.  The bylaws require an Area Director to be a PC at the time of appointment.

ü  Told the ExCom to “get used to his management style.”

A partial lists of improvements the officers claim need to be made:

ü  Update and maintain the YAVGOP web site.

ü  The T’NT application on the website is not the same as the one in the office kiosk

ü  The State GOP has offered a free website has not been responded to.

ü  Newly appointed PC’s are being ignored;

1.     January appointees still have not been notified of the Board of Supervisors approval of their applications.

2.     Haven’t been added to the News Letter list

3.     BOS hasn’t been informed of death, resignations or when PCs have moved out of their precincts.

4.     AZGOP hasn’t been provided with PC contact information.

5.     Area Directors, Precinct Captains and PCs of status changes not recorded.

6.     Current PC list not provided to PCs

7.     PC meetings not announced.

In an exchange of e-mails between Sanders and some of the PCs, Sanders claims the allegations are “misrepresentations, distortions and falsehoods.” He admits there are administrative issues but claims they are being worked out and that no signee has spoken to him about these complaints. “My election as Chairman has been assailed since the very day of the election,”  Sanders wrote - citing negative responses posted on Facebook.  Noting three of the signees are Pachyderm members, he claims he was asked to leave a Chino Valley Pachyderm meeting and that the Pachyderms directed all reference to their club be removed from all YAVGOP publications, sites or other location. Sanders e-mail claims there has been an ongoing attempt to discredit and create derision ever since he was elected.

·       AZGOP Executive Committee Transcript Link to a transcript of the April 18 AZGOP Executive Committee (ExCom) meeting taken directly from a tape recorded by an attendee of the meeting that was closed to precinct committeeman (PCs)  and state committeemen observers.  Briefs doesn’t have space to run the 23 page transcript.  Behind The Scenes: Robert Graham’s Exclusive Exec. Meeting  also provides some insight to the meeting.

·       This Monday, May 4, at 9:30 Am (EST) ,  the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit (D.C. Circuit) will hold oral argument on a lawsuit brought by Sheriff Joe Arpaio to enjoin the implementation of President Barack Obama's executive actions effectively granting amnesty to over 5 million illegal aliens. The lower court judge, Beryl Howell, an Obama appointee, had dismissed the case calling it politically based. However, Sheriff Arpaio disagrees. The primary issues are whether the US Constitution must be considered as well as the Administrative Procedures Act. President Obama circumvented both in illegally issuing executive orders which flouted the law of the land. A press conference will be held on the Courthouse steps immediately following, according to Arpaio’s attorney Larry Klayman.  This case is likely headed to the U.S. Supreme Court. ·        Congrats To The AZ Citizen Defense League AzCDL for recruiting its 12,000 member at the Pima County Fair in April .  AzCDL formed in 2005 when seven activists decided to do something about the loss of the right to bear arms in Arizona.  By June AzCDL was officially formed with four of the original founders becoming AzCDL’s first directors.  That same year AzCDL experienced its first success at the legislature.  Five years later, in 2010, among many other accomplishments, they were successful in achieving Constitutional Carry in Arizona.  The right to carry openly or discreetly without begging permission from government bureaucrats was restored. Due to their success, Arizona has become the “brass ring” for gun grabbers.  Not only do they have Constitutional Carry, but Guns and Ammo magazine has twice declared Arizona as the number one state for gun owners.  AzCDL has become the main target of Bloomberg’s campaign to achieve universal gun owner registration.  You can join AzCDL at join AzCDL or upgrade your current membership with Fred (treasurer@azcdl.org). Help support their two full time lobbyists at  Legislative Action Center or see Volunteer Page to offer your services.

COMMENTARY

·       Editor’s Note:  When expressing opinions, please limit commentary to 300 words.

·       Joseph N. Perron, President AZ East Valley Pro-Life Alliance: Ten Republicans joined  Democrats to back pro-abortion Obama AG nominee Loretta Lynch.  AZ Senator Jeff Flake was amongst the 10 defectors.

It is appalling and deeply disappointing  that our Jr. Senator, deliberately ignoring his pro-life commitment, as a candidate to defend and protect life to the AZ pro-life voter,  adamantly forged ahead to join Democrats in voting for Obama’s pro-abortion Attorney General Nominee.  Pro-Life elected leaders must “dare to be different” and do the right thing by our Creator without rationalizing their beliefs and/or feelings, particularly when it comes to protecting LIFE! ten-republicans-join-democrats

Loretta Lynch previously argued that the ban against the killing of partially-born children was “unconstitutionally vague and threatens the integrity of the criminal justice system”.  She defended the pro-abortion position against the ban saying the definition of a “living fetus” is “hopelessly vague”. There is nothing “vague” about inhumanely suctioning a baby from its mother’s womb before it is born!  loretta-lynch-admits-she-once-acted-to-protect-partialbirth-abortions

America deserves leaders who will fight for our unborn babies!  By giving into the evils of electing abortion-minded leaders is not “governing” but

“surrendering” to the most pro-abortion agenda in our nation’s history!

Yes, Mr. Flake “elections do have consequences”!   America Deserves Better!  Contact: Perron 480-216-7217  Life@EVProLifeAlliance.org
