A similar life jacket exchange event will be held Sunday, July 19 at Saguaro Lake.“This is a great opportunity to keep ourselves and the people we care about safe,” said Josh Hoffman, Arizona Game and Fish Boating Safety Education coordinator. “No one starts a day on the water planning to have an accident, yet they happen every day. This is why Arizona law requires that we have a serviceable life jacket for everyone on board.” Drowning was the reported cause of death in 78 percent of the 610 recreational boating fatalities in 2014 nationwide, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. Of those incidents, 84 percent of those who drowned were not wearing life jackets. Info:  For more information on boating in Arizona or to sign up for a safety course, visit www.azgfd.gov/boating.

·         Former Senator Russell Pearce: I am a citizen who firmly believes that natural marriage, consisting of the union of one man and one woman, is the true definition of marriage.  Any other definition of marriage is unacceptable.  I for one will not stand by while the destruction of the institution of marriage undermines American culture. I have joined tens of thousands of American citizens and signed Liberty Counsel’s “We Stand in Solidarity to Defend Marriage” pledge.  This is a vital campaign to defend natural marriage. Please join me in signing this important letter by going here:   petition

·         Immediate Past President AZGOP Chairman Tom Morrissey: The progressives and the establishment (aka chambers of commerce) are highly incensed by the remarks of Donald Trump and it’s not difficult to understand why.  But he isn’t saying anything that a good many of us aren’t feeling these days.  The problem here, however, might lay with all of us who agree with most, if not all of what he is saying.  We have a tendency to rise up when we hear a clarion call such as when we react to the words of Mr. Trump.  But then it all seems to somehow quiet down and we return to complacency until there is something said that rouses us once again. Sheriff Joe has been saying for years what Donald Trump has just started saying and that seems to go unnoticed by the local media except when it is used as a weapon against him by the pro-open-borders crowd. The facts are that crime in Maricopa County dropped dramatically when the sheriff was ‘allowed’ to do his job by the powers that be and now that he has been handcuffed by them, guess what?  The crime rate is once again ascending (dramatically).  I notice that the liberal media has not been decrying the fact that Sanctuary City San Francisco has sheltered a multi-time felon, illegal  alien, who has shown his appreciation to them by senselessly killing an innocent young woman in the streets of that ‘compassionate city by the bay’. Donald Trump is beginning to feel the blistering attacks as a result of his fiery and honest rhetoric.  He should take a look at what has been going on in Arizona with the blistering that Sheriff Joe takes almost on a daily basis and see a man still standing despite it all.  (Drives the media crazy.)  One thing that can be said of Donald Trump is the same as can be said of Joe Arpaio, they both bring “True Grit” to the table and I can only hope that it will be contagious for all of us who want our country back. Grassroots, I’m talking to you.
