·       Congrats to former LD13 Chairman Robert Branch, who has been awarded the ‘Faculty of the Month” award at the Grand Canyon University’s School of Doctoral Studies.

·       Arturo Olivas Interviewed By Univision … Univision of Arizona ask Olivas why do you support Sheriff Joe Arpaio? “I support Mr. Arpaio because he's locking up illegal criminals and in favor of deportation.”  He continues, “Why do illegal and legal immigrants want to change America? America doesn't need change; it's Mexico that needs changing. If these people really cared about Mexico they would work on changing their own country and to stop coming to America illegally.” In closing Olivas tells Univision, “Put this interview on Univision News,  I'll see if Univision really reports the news in the state of Arizona.”

·       Eleanor Bentson Will Be Missed: Fountain Hills has lost one of its leading Republican activists. Service details tba.  Eleanor Bentson, who served several terms as president of the Fountain Hills Republican Club and founded the Fountain Lake Federated Republican Women’s Club, has passed away. Congressman Jon Kyl presented her with the Republican of the Year Award at a Fountain Hills Republican Club meeting. She often rode with Kyl and staff on his campaign bus when they went north to the Reservations.  She served on many local and state committee positions, was an election judge in Fountain Hills, a state committeeman for District #8, and a deputy registrar for Maricopa County. As a tireless volunteer for many organizations, she has been president of the Sunset Kiwanis, a member of the Civic Association board, member of the Fountain Hills Women’s Club, a five- year volunteer for the Fountain Hills incorporation effort, and participated in the local elementary school mentoring program. She was a member of the Noon Kiwanis, managed the Chamber of Commerce’s Visitors Center for 17  years, and was the Arts Festival manager of the Purple People volunteers for 12 years. She was also put in the Museum’s Hall of Fame. She and her husband moved to Fountain Hills in 1978, having bought a lot there in 1971. Prior to living in Fountain Hills, the couple lived in Aurora, IL where she was the eight-year president of the Aurora Republican Club, a vice president to the Federation of Republican Women, Chairman of the Illinois FRW, a campaign co-chairman for (Barry) Goldwater and Richard Nixon’s presidential campaigns, chaired several Illinois GOP campaigns and held  numerous officer positions.

·       LD25 PC: I was appalled at how our LDs would not invite a candidate (Clair Van Steenwyk) to speak.  We are PCs, and our job description is to vet candidates.  When a person declares his or her intentions for the political scene, they deserve respect to express their ideas and aspirations.  To "deny" them is a discredit to our party.

·       Gov Doug Ducey tomorrow will speak at the Jobs for Arizona Graduates (JAG) breakfast and tour Peoria High School at 9am, Fri., Aug 28 as part of the guv’s Back to School Tour.

·       Armed-Resistance    Summary of patriot and militia groups vs the push for the takeover of public lands.

·       Pollsters Dumbfounded By Trump   Polling experts agree on one thing when it comes to Donald Trump’s presidential run: They’ve never seen anything like it. The businessman’s dominance of the Republican presidential race is forcing experienced political hands to question whether everything they know about winning the White House is wrong.

·       Gun-Rights-For-Illegal-Immigrants  …How much longer are we going to sit idly by and allow the courts to violate our sovereignty and Republican form of government, flip the Constitution on its head, and confer rights and privileges on those in the country in contravention to the laws duly passed by the people’s representatives? Forget about birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants, the leftwing activists disguised as judges on the federal bench have suddenly discovered a newfound alacrity for the Second Amendment.  In a landmark ruling last Thursday, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals conferred Second Amendment rights….on illegal aliens! It’s not enough that we allow criminal aliens to stay here illegally, let’s give them guns too.

·       Jeb, O'Reilly-Unaware-Of-Ike-On-Immigration   How can a serious presidential candidate and a major cable television host be so repeatedly ignorant of such a significant moment in American history? I don’t know. But I do know that both Jeb Bush and Bill O’Reilly are either attacking Donald Trump (Bush) or challenging him on air (O’Reilly) seemingly clueless of a seminal moment in American immigration history.

·       Donald-Trump, Megyn-Kelly-And-What-You-Missed-At-The-Circus   While everyone has focused on a Trump tweet and Fox News’ Megyn Kelly in post-Kardashian America, here are a few things that you might have missed. The Environmental Protection Agency just unleashed the greatest environmental disaster since the BP oil spill as their “cleanup” activity has resulted in the release of 500 gallons a minute of toxic chemicals into the once pristine waterway. The now mustard-colored rivers are flowing through the states of Colorado and New Mexico on their way to the Colorado River and the drinking water of millions in Arizona, Nevada and California.

·       Gilbert Councilwoman Jenn Daniels Announces Run for Mayor Mayor John Lewis and community leaders Jim Hayden and Howard Morrison to chair campaign. Daniels said “I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support that I have received. As we begin this campaign, I look forward to building on existing relationships, collaborating with new friends and neighbors and creating a conversation that includes all residents of Gilbert as we work towards improving our town and building a successful future.”

·       Over 40 Groups, Led By The  National Tea Party Patriots support team,  will gather on the West Lawn of the US Capitol in Washington, DC on Sept 9 to protest Obama’s Iran’s nuclear deal. Register Here: register/5399498562848279810

·       Congressman Paul A. Gosar after Judge Ralph Erickson of North Dakota blocked President Obama and the Environmental Protection Agency’s new Waters of the United States regulation (WOTUS) that was slated to go into effect tomorrow as a result of a lawsuit filed by 13 states, including the state of Arizona:  “Judge Erikson’s preliminary injunction blocking the EPA’s unconstitutional water grab puts the interests of hard-working Americans, small businesses, states and the agriculture community ahead of the self-interests of extremist environmental groups. WOTUS is a job-killing, overreaching new regulation that would be a dream killer for future generations and result in significant job losses as well as considerable harm to our economy. This terribly flawed Washington mandate contradicts prior Supreme Court decisions and seeks to expand agency control over 60% of our country’s streams as well as millions of acres of wetlands that were previously non-jurisdictional. This temporary victory is a big win for states and the people of our country who refuse to be ruled by executive fiat. I have been fighting this regulation from the very beginning and I will continue to do everything I can to fight this unconstitutional water grab and prevent it from ever being implemented.” More than 200 organizations and local municipalities have publicly declared their opposition to the proposed WOTUS rule.

·       Arizona Is Open For Business “Arizona is open for business” has become more than just a common refrain from Gov. Doug Ducey. It has become a mantra in how he approaches economic development since taking office in January.

·       Congresswoman Martha McSally: Earlier, I asked you where Congress should best focus their efforts on veteran’s issues. There was a great response to our survey. I’m humbled by how many Arizonans are truly committed to standing up for our service men and women. I told you we would share the results, so here they are. Below are the issues in the order of most responses to least (you were able to vote for more than one):

1.     Allow the VA to remove or demote employees based on poor performance (79%)

2.     Let veterans use their GI Bill for high-skill apprenticeships (58%)

3.     Remove ObamaCare regulations for hiring veterans who have military health insurance (55%)

4.     Help surviving military spouses receive death benefits (52%)

5.     Update VA facilities to better treat women veterans (43%)

6.     Help veterans access Border Patrol jobs (42%)

7.     Allow veterans to access HSA health plans (41%)

8.     Increase healthcare coverage for the children of veterans (28%)

Of course, all of these issues are very important. I’ve introduced or cosponsored over a dozen bills to address these exact issues and more. I’m proud to stand for our veterans, and I know you are, too.

·       Attorney General Mark Brnovich today announced the settlement of a consumer fraud lawsuit against Go Green Today, LLC (“Go Green”), an Arizona-based solar company that allegedly made thousands of unwanted telephone calls to consumers on the FTC’s National Do Not Call Registry (DNC). In addition to making unsolicited telemarketing calls, Go Green also violated the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act (ACFA) in the marketing and sale of solar products. Under the consent judgment, up to $55,000 in restitution will be paid to victims. “We are aggressively going after companies that make illegal telemarketing and robocalls to scam consumers,” said Attorney General Mark Brnovich, “Our office intends to pursue a legislative fix this session that will close many of the statutory loopholes that allow telemarketing companies to flourish in our state.” Click Here -  Consent Judgment
