HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY
A Conservative Hero Has Died One of the greatest voices for freedom has passed...
Reports Are Surfacing that some of the Maricopa County Republican legislative districts and outlying counties are saying “no” to proxies at their special meetings to elect delegates to the state/nation convention. It has been suggested that the Briefs post a list of the counties and LD’s showing their position on permitting proxies their LD/county delegate selection meeting. If you are interested in participating, please send the information to email@example.com with a subject line of “delegate proxies.” See full story at http://archives.mcrcbriefs.org/2016/02/2-13-16-briefs.html
Rep. Paul Boyer Won't Allow Parental "Opt Out" Bill to be Heard! Rep Paul Boyer has parents hopping angry for reportedly sitting on several education bill that taxpayers want heard. You can reach key players at these links: Boyer Here, Rep Christopher Ackerly Here , Sen Sylvia Allen Here Gov Doug Ducey Here Monday, Feb. 15, is the last day that bills can be scheduled.
Thayer Verschoor, One Of Presidential Candidate Donald Trump’s Arizona team leaders, is calling for volunteers to go to Vegas, NV Feb 20 thru the night of the Feb 23 to help the Trump campaign. Transportation, lodging and meals are provided. Contact Verschoor at 602-703-0266.
Congressman Matt Salmon upon hearing of the loss of Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia. “It is with a heavy heart that the nation today mourns the loss of Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia. Justice Scalia was a man of honor and a true constitutional scholar who continually demonstrated a deep fealty to the constitution in the face of overwhelming opposition. His just and moral influence and his noble service will be long remembered by the American legal system and a grateful American people.”
Reminder: Feb 22 is the last day to register to vote in Presidential Preference Primary. Registration forms can be picked up at your local post office, motor vehicle licensing office, GOP office or contact your local club or legislative district chairman.
Tom Morrissey, Immediate Past Chairman AZ GOP on Paper PCs: What is a “Paper PC”? It is usually someone who comes on board as a precinct committeeman with the understanding that they “do not have to do anything”. All that is required is that they give their proxies to another PC who will vote on their behalf. Sounds innocent enough -- until you see people showing up at the annual County and State meetings with arms full of those proxies. At one meeting last year, I witnessed a lady take 22 proxies to the voting machine. It seems strange to me that 22 different individuals ask one person to carry their proxies.
This is another item in the parade of unintended consequences which have come back to bite us. The original intent of proxy votes was to enable PCs (unable to attend a meeting) to cast a vote. That sounds reasonable and fair -- until it becomes a way to corrupt the will of the body/organization through abuse of the process.
There is a growing awareness among the grassroots that we have been and are being played by the less than obvious agenda agents who operate in the darkness to influence the direction of our party. IMHO it just might be a good idea to put a reasonable control in place regarding proxies. Maybe base it on the concept of PCs showing up at these highly important meetings if they want their vote to count. Why become a PC if you don’t “do anything”?
It is good to see Chairman Graham springing to the defense of those who have a right to have their votes counted. While doing so he might want to consider the right of the rest of us to not be held hostage by the deeds that are done in the dark which bare little difference to what we see the democrats do with ballot harvesting.
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement upon the passing of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia: "Justice Scalia was a wise voice and strong proponent of the Constitution and American values. He was a true legend and a towering figure on the court whose acute legal mind forged a legacy of protecting our freedoms and the Constitution. His decisions will continue to shape our country for years to come and his presence will be sorely missed. I send my condolences to his wife Maureen and his nine children as we keep his entire family in our thoughts and prayers.”
U.S. Senate Candidate Alex Meluskey regarding the untimely and tragic death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia: “America has lost a giant today. Antonin Scalia dedicated his life to our Constitution, our Republic and to public service. We have just lost a man who set legal precedent which will outlive us all. Ronald Reagan saw in Justice Scalia a Conservative anchor who would stand up for the Constitution for decades, and he did just that. The majority in the Supreme Court was always frail. We cannot overstate the importance of Justice Scalia's passing. It is imperative that we come together as Conservatives to pray for his family and pray for the Republic. We must pray for the Senate, and push them to stand firm against the activist nominees president Obama will undoubtedly put forth. I humbly ask the people of Arizona to join me in prayer today for the justice's family, the United States Senate and the future of our Republic.”
Update - Vicki Alger AZRA Education Committee Chairman: Thank you for contacting House Education Chairman Rep Paul Boyer! You efforts have made a difference, but we still need to act because if bills are not scheduled to be heard, they will die. I was in touch with Representative Boyer yesterday evening. Here’s a summary of where he stands, and what we need to do:
schools; assessments; surveys; informed consent
This bill is now tentatively scheduled to be heard in Chairman Boyer’s House Education Committee Wednesday, 2/17. It should be posted on ALIS (Arizona Legislative Information System) on Monday. Please register your SUPPORT for this bill on the ALIS Request to Speak (RTS) system starting Monday. If you are not registered on the RTS system and need help, please email me. Jose Borrajero has put together a terrific instruction sheet, and I am happy to help you. But please keep the pressure up! Contact him TODAY and urge him to hear this bill!
statewide assessments; parental opt-out
Chairman Boyer opposes this bill and says it will not be heard. Contact him TODAY and urge him to hear this bill and to follow Arizona’s Parents Bill of Rights (ARS 1-601 and 1-602): “The liberty of parents to direct the upbringing, education, health care and mental health of their children is a fundamental right. This state, any political subdivision of this state or any other governmental entity shall not infringe on these rights…” Parents’ rights do not stop at the schoolhouse door!
student, teacher data collection; prohibitions
Chairman Boyer says this bill “is problematic in my initial read but I'm open to digging further.” He is unsure if he’ll complete his review in time for it to be heard and said a similar Senate bill, SB 1389, is proceeding. Contact him Today and urge him to hear HB 2582. Tell him you support stiff civil penalties and fines for violating students’ privacy and parental rights! Contact: Boyer immediately: (602) 926-4173 firstname.lastname@example.org facebook.com/BoyerAZ/ twitter.com/pauldboyer

LD20 MCRC Member-At-Large Wes Harris: Well we had a murder suicide in Independence High School...or better said, outside of Independence High School. The-1-Man-Who-Can-Make-Our-Enemies-Fear-Us-Again Dan Gordon says Trump could right America if he finds his 'inner Reagan'
Superpac Against Trump: 'If It Bleeds We Can Kill It' “…Packer is being supported by a number of GOP bigshots, including John McCain, in order to try to form a steady barrage of anti-Trump messages that will ultimately turn voters against the New York billionaire no one can buy.”
Anti-Trump-Super-Pac-Features-John-McCain “...GOP electorate towards the GOP establishment is bounded between “hate and disgust” on one end of the spectrum and “burn it down and plow salt into the ashes” on the other. John McCain, to most GOP voters, represents the very worst impulses of the GOP establishment: out of touch, devoid of principles, reeking of self-importance, more than likely corrupt.”
50-US-Spies: Obama-Admin-Manipulates-Reports-Threatens-Us-If We Speak Out More than 50 spies working for the military have come out with shocking allegations: according to them, the Obama administration has taken their painfully honest assessments of the war against ISIS and effectively reinterpreted them to paint a rosy picture of things that reflects well on the president’s efforts against the terrorist group. The spies specifically went out of their way to clarify that it wasn’t just a matter of rogue agents telling falsehoods to advance their own careers. Rather, as one of the operatives involved said, “The cancer was within the senior level of command,” revealing how high this conspiracy of competence goes. Indeed, the allegations are serious enough that the Pentagon has charged it’s inspector general with investigating the intelligence agents’ claims. This followed the submission of a formal written complaint by two veteran analysts at U.S. Central Command in July, prompting the Department of Defense to look into the matter itself.
National Republican Committeeman Bruce Ash: Justice Scalia’s passing has created a profound sense of loss for all Americans. Scalia understood that perhaps one of the most important concepts of our constitution is the checks and balances system . On this constitution rests this fragile balance which has helped give strength to our republic.
I learned of Scalia’s passing while co-hosting a radio call in show in Tucson. As soon as we signed off I was in immediate contact with some of my colleagues of the RNC and I was asked to place a call to Chairman Reince Priebus to insist that we pass a resolution in support of blocking any attempt by President Obama to pack the US Supreme Court with a liberal nominee at this time .
I made the case to act in special session and pass a RNC resolution in support of holding off confirmation of a new justice to replace Scalia until after the new president takes office next year. While on the call Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell issued his own statement in support to hold off confirmation. I will sponsor a resolution to resist the president on any nomination while he is in office and will press for expedited approval by the body of the RNC.
The GOP grass roots across America, like Justice Scalia , believes in the checks and balances system under our constitution and we must oppose any effort by Barack Obama to pack the court in 2016.
Over the next several days there will be many tributes for Justice Scalia. His great intellectual prowess and leadership on SCOTUS will be felt for many decades in the future. Our nation has lost a great supporter of The US Constitution. As we face the upcoming presidential election an important thing for all of us to keep in mind is that our next president must be a conservative Republican who will select originalists to all of our federal courts to will carry on the work of Justice Scalia and keep the fragile Bruce Ash – Arizona GOP National Committeeman

The Republican Party of Maricopa County’s Executive Guidance Committee has voted overwhelmingly to oppose both the state house and state senate versions of the National Popular Vote legislation currently being considered by state lawmakers. The vote of opposition is rooted in concerns that the two bills would grossly change our electoral system and render the will of Arizona voters subservient to that of high populace, liberal states such as California and New York, according to MCRC Chairman Tyler Bower. He asks all Precinct Committeemen to immediately contact your state legislators, by email AND phone, to tell them to OPPOSE the National Popular Vote legislation. When emailing, please use the subject line: OPPOSE National Popular Vote . You can use the new MaricopaCountyGOP.com Resource Center to look up your legislative district, contact your elected officials, access the Arizona legislature’s Request To Speak (RTS) system, and more, Bowyer said. Bowyer requested that Legislative District Chairmen share the message with their Precinct Committeemen. Editor’s Note: You can also access find your LD, legislators, or bills at http://azleg.gov/
LD23 Chairman Jim O’Connor reminds voters who are in opposition to National Popular Vote (NPV) should be flooding AZ Senate President Andy Biggs firstname.lastname@example.org office with phone calls and e-mails demanding a NO vote on the National Popular Vote Bills now in his senate chamber. The House passed HB2456 last Friday and sent it to the Senate. Senator Don Shooter prime sponsor of SB 1218 (the twin bill of HB 2456) is hot to move forward given his current 20/10 members in favor of NPV advantage. Biggs reports that he is receiving calls in favor of the NPV at a ratio of 2/1. O’Connor says, “This is the CQ paid machine doing what they get paid to do. They are also assisted by the democrat machine. Andy needs to hear from us at his office because he stands with us against these horrible bills. But he now needs the evidence of our strength.” See report by Heritage Action in their "Daily Signal" E-Publication http://tinyurl.com/j9prh8c Also read www.NoNationalPopularVote.Wordpress.com
