Poll: Kelli-Ward-Ties-Sen-John-McCain-In-ArizonaThe poll shows McCain holding stronger among moderates while Ward leads among very conservative voters. McCain and Ward are tied at 41-41 percent in a head-to-head matchup, even though Ward has only 41 percent name recognition. Head-to-head with Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, high name recognition McCain leads Kirkpatrick only 42-36. Kirkpatrick’s name recognition was a mere 58 percent in the PPP poll. A matchup between Kirkpatrick and Ward, a former Arizona state senator, comes up 35-37. In response to the new poll, Ward told Breitbart News:..

John-McCain-Letter-On ChemtrailsIt's not even summer yet, and this election year is jumping the shark. Sen. John McCain's (R-AZ) re-election campaign on Monday mocked his primary opponent for entertaining constituents' chem-trail conspiracy theories. But it turns out McCain last year forwarded to the Environmental Protection Agency a letter from a constituent concerned about chem-trails, and asked the EPA to respond. In the April 2015 cover letter, McCain notified the EPA that a constituent had "encountered a problem. Because the situation is under your jurisdiction, I am respectfully referring this matter to you for consideration," the letter reads.

Kelli-Ward: I-Don’t-Believe-In-Chemtrails US Sen. Kelli Ward, Republican primary challenge to incumbent U.S. Sen. John McCain, in a series of 2015 Twitter messages clarified that she does not believe in the "chem-trails" conspiracy theory...

John-McCain: His-Ongoing-Saga-Hits-The-Skids “Another rollicking email arrives from John McCain. With a simple tap on “unsubscribe” they would vanish. Though we’ve never subscribed to this gagable onslaught, they do provide a bit of levity during an often grueling work week, so once again the temptation is met with resistance. Besides, it’s instructive to see what his operatives regard as effective tactics. Even the most dedicated among his many non-supporters are up for a chuckle or two and Team McCain rarely disappoints….” Seeing Red Az

Although There Was A Last Minute Change of venue for last Saturday’s Arizona Civil Rights Conference, speaker Ted Hayes launched a new approach to ‘healing America”. Hayes will be conducting workshops in Phoenix in June. Saturday’s speakers included former Sen Russell Pearce, former congressional candidate Gabby Mercer, USMS veteran James Spencer, Air Force veteran Robin O’Bannon, several Tea Party warriors and Arizona Project Chairman Ron Ludders. Stephanie Trussell, Chicago talk show hostess was the moderator. The program was video-taped and will soon be available for viewing.

Arizona-Fed-Up-Trump-Protesters... Makes Move Every State Should Follow: Gov. Doug Ducey signed into law a piece of legislation that makes longer jail sentences possible for blocking traffic during protests — here’s looking at you, Trump protesters. The-Washington-Scandal-Laying-Dormant-For-Years The deadly-but-forgotten government gun-running scandal known as “Fast and Furious” has lain dormant for years, thanks to White House stonewalling and media compliance. But newly uncovered e-mails have reopened the case, exposing the anatomy of a cover-up by an administration that promised to be the most transparent in history. A federal judge has forced the release of more than 20,000 pages of emails and memos previously locked up under President Obama’s phony executive-privilege claim. A preliminary review shows top Obama officials deliberately obstructing congressional probes into the border gun-running operation.

“The AFFH Is Just Another In A Long Line of radical big government power grabs by the Obama administration, and now by John McCain, which is designed to further erode the legitimate constitutional powers of our state and local governments, and continue the growth of the federal government,” said small businessman and U.S. Senate Candidate Alexander Meluskey. “It is a shame that John McCain and others would vote against such a simple, common sense measure as Senator Mike Lee’s amendment to preserve our right to determine our own local planning and zoning. It is my hope that Congressman Paul Gosar’s efforts in the U.S. House do not meet a similar fate.” john-mccain-votes-to-give-feds-control-of-local-planning-and-zoning

John-McCain’s-2016-Campaign-Blocks-John-McCain’s-2010-Ad …”This is not good news for John McCain. His opponent Ann Kirkpatrick’s campaign did a pretty smart thing: They've taken McCain's anti-immigration "danged fence" ad from 2010 and simply given it Spanish subtitles. So what did the McCain campaign do? A campaign ad for Sen. John McCain's 2010 reelection bid was blocked on YouTube earlier this week, per a request from the Arizona Republican's 2016 reelection campaign. […] "John McCain is trying to hide his comments and agenda from the Latino community and Arizonans now that he admits he's caught in the 'race of his life,' " said D.B. Mitchell, a Kirkpatrick campaign spokesman. McCain acknowledged earlier this month the challenge of confronting a confluence of anti-immigrant rhetoric by presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump and an increasingly Hispanic voting population in Arizona. The campaign says it has nothing to do with the anti-immigration content of the old ad, but they blocked it because of "a clear copyright violation."

Arizona-Plan-Less-Colorado-River-Water-Now-More-Later At Lake Mead, America's most voluminous water impoundment when it was full and a lifeline to everyone from Phoenix to San Diego, a crisis has arrived.

Nestle-To-Bottle-Water-In-The-AZ-Desert Nestle Waters will spend $35 million to turn a west Phoenix warehouse into a bottling plant, creating 40 to 50 new jobs in the Valley.

CBS-Host-Slips-Up “CBS This Morning” host Gayle King unwittingly put her and her mainstream media buddies’ liberal bias on display recently when commenting on the divides within the Republican and Democrat parties. She said it was funny — “we were all laughing” — when Republicans were fighting to keep their party intact.

Donald-Trump-Was-Right What happened along the southern border on Friday lent a lot of credence to presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s theory that criminals from Mexico have been taking advantage of the porous border to bring drugs and other such malicious things into the country. While inspecting a Volkswagon sedan that crossed over from Ciudad Acuña, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents working near a Texas port of entry found half a million dollars’ worth of methamphetamine and cocaine stashed in silver boxes.

Police-Soldiers-Swarm-Mexicos-Acapulco-Killings-Continue Along with beach towels or sandals, there's a new popular beach accessory that says a lot about the violence gripping this once-glamorous resort: a small black leather tote hanging from the neck or shoulders of some men. It's not a man-bag, exactly; it holds a small pistol.

Trump: As-A-Country-We-Can’t-Afford-To-Be-So-Nice-And-Foolish-Anymore Donald Trump joined Fox and friends this morning to talk about Hillary Clinton, Egyptian airplane incident, and political correctness. In this segment, you can tell just how frustrated Trump is done with Hillary Clinton and her incompetence. He really believes as many Americans do that she does not have the best interests of America nor does she have the best mind to lead this nation where it should be over the next four years.

AZ Citizen’s Defense League Update: When we started AzCDL our policy was that we wouldn’t send fundraising emails. Membership donations and raffles pay the bills.  This policy was fine when all we needed to deal with was Arizona legislation.  However it’s a suicide pact when faced with what Bloomberg is going to bring to Arizona.
In 2014, after passing a “
universal background check” ballot measure in Washington, Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety organization bragged that Nevada, Maine and Arizona were next.  Nevada and Maine will have “universal background check” measures on their November ballots.  With Constitutional Carry, and being recognized 3 times in a row as the best state for gun owners, Arizona is the brass ring for anti-rights zealots.  It’s not a matter of “if” Bloomberg targets Arizona, it’s a matter of “when.”  With a national election this November, Arizona is ripe for the picking. We must finance this battle ourselves.  No white knight is going to ride in and save the day.  In Nevada, about $1.15 Million has been raised by Bloomberg affiliates to support their “universal background check” ballot measure.  Fund raising to combat Bloomberg in Nevada has been largely local.  Financial support from national firearms groups has been very restrained.  We should not expect anything different for Arizona.  It’s also wrong to expect any other group to handle this for us.
None of us at AzCDL want to be involved in fundraising, and none of us are making any money from this.  If we can stop the threat, the fundraising will stop.  But we cannot stand idly by and let Bloomberg win.   We've heard from many in Washington and Oregon that there was no organized resistance when he came at them. That will not be the case in Arizona.
AzCDL is not affiliated with any national organization.  No sugar daddies, no grants, no gifts from millionaires, no political party slush funds. We have embarked on a fund raising campaign that will end when a Bloomberg backed “universal background checks” ballot measure is no longer a threat in Arizona. These alerts are a project of the Arizona Citizens Defense League (AzCDL), an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-partisan grassroots organization.

CANDIDATE COMMENTARY

Scottsdale City Council Incumbent Virginia Korte: Scottsdale is not only one of the safest cities in the Valley or even Arizona – it is also one of the safest cities in the entire country. Obviously, the police officers patrolling our streets and responding to our calls should receive most of the credit for keeping crime under control.   Citizens also play a critical role in keeping our city safe.  When we are vigilant and looking out for one another we avoid becoming victims.  I doubt that there is a city anywhere in the country that enjoys a better working relationship between its citizens and police department than Scottsdale.  We should be proud of that and not take the relationship for granted. Last week I voted with the majority of the City Council to provide the SPD with additional personnel.  That will ensure the department runs as efficiently as possible minimizing the need for and cost of overtime.  The 2016-2017 fiscal budget will not be finalized until next month.  When it is, it will include funding to help address our downtown parking limits and improve dispatching officers and records processing, which in turn will support our patrol officers. Every day the men and women of our police department are prepared to risk their lives to keep our families safe.  That is why they have earned our respect.  They also deserve our continued help and support whenever they need it.
