RNC To Wait 75 Yrs For Hillary E-Mails The Republican National Committee would have to wait 75 years for the State Department to release emails from top aides to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, according to a recent court filing. State Department lawyers argue in a filing made last Wednesday that gathering 450,000 pages of records requested for former Clinton aides Cheryl Mills and Jacob Sullivan and top State Department official Patrick Kennedy would take three quarters of a century. "Given the Department's current FOIA workload and the complexity of these documents, it can process about 500 pages a month, meaning it would take approximately 16-and-2/3 years to complete the review of the Mills documents, 33-and-1/3 years to finish the review of the Sullivan documents, and 25 years to wrap up the review of the Kennedy documents -- or 75 years in total," the State Department argued in the filing…
Chairman (ProTem) Sparky Smith of the newly forming Maricopa County Republican Committee/Republican Party of Maricopa County (MCRC/RPMC) City of Phoenix Committee (CPC) addressed last Wednesday's MCRC Executive Guidance Committee (EGC) meeting at AZGOP HQ. Smith presented the CPC organizational chart, moving on to general plans for an idea brought into reality by MCRC Chairman Tyler Bowyer in response to Phoenix Precinct Committeemen (PCs) requesting a "Phoenix Republican Party," -- something Republicans inside and outside the ranks of Precinct Committeemen see as long overdue. The CPC vision calls for a 32 member body representing MCRC PCs from LDs corresponding to City of Phoenix City Council Districts (CCDs) 1 through 8. Smith says the CPC's primary objective is "promoting and restoring the "social contract" between "We The People" of Phoenix and our public servants to preserve the "Quality of Life" expected in Phoenix. Smith reports almost 1/3 of the 32 PCs have been appointed thus far, adding that all interested and committed PCs are welcome to play a role. LD Chairmen and PCs are encouraged to work together to get PCs into open slots and attend CPC's monthly meetings, held on last Wednesdays each month. The CPC will be concentrating on the upcoming "Special Election" in Phoenix CCD 3 (vacated by Bill Gates), working to elect a "Constitutional Conservative" to represent the people. An official name, mission statement, website (including an active social media presence), along with community service and outreach programs are all in the works. Organizers say: "Get in on the "ground floor" action! You can make a difference for good in Phoenix." -- CPC Corresponding Secretary (ProTem) Tristan Manos adds: "The CPC is about "1st Things 1st" and bringing a positively proactive "Reality Check" to Phoenix City Hall." Obama-Insults-VFW-Posts VFW National Commander Immediately Shuts Him Down: Barack Obama has never been particularly complimentary of our veterans, but he went over the line like never before earlier this week when he said that VFW members were being confused by right-wing radio…The idea that Obama has so much contempt for the men and women who serve this country was prima facie offensive, although few news outlets covered it. However, the head of the VFW soon blasted the president over his remarks .“I don’t know how many VFW posts the president has ever visited,” VFW National Commander John A. Biedrzycki Jr. said, “but our near 1.7 million members are a direct reflection of America, which means we represent every generation, race, religion, gender and political and ideological viewpoint. We don’t have confused politics, we don’t need left- or right-wing media filters telling us how to think or vote, and we don’t need any president of the United States lecturing us about how we are individually effected by the economy. Our nation was created and continues to exist solely because of the men and women who wear the uniform. Let’s not denigrate their service, their sacrifice or their intelligence.”

Senator Jeff Flake: The Senate will continue consideration of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a bill that specifies the budget and expenditures of the Department of Defense. Sen. Flake has offered 12 amendments to the bill. Following consideration of NDAA, the Senate may take up the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act, a bill to modernize the Toxic Substances Control Act.
NFL Refunds Taxpayers: NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has notified Sen. Flake and Sen. McCain that the league will be returning $724,000 paid by the Department of Defense (DOD) to NFL clubs to honor military service members at league games and events. Flake and McCain first uncovered and subsequently led an effort to implement a ban the practice which has become known as paid patriotism. Read the full story here .
Key Takeaway: “In all the years I’ve spent trying to root out egregious federal spending, the NFL is the first organization to perform due diligence, take responsibility, and return funds to the taxpayers,” said Flake. “The NFL’s response to this investigation sets a new standard and only strengthens its reputation as a supporter of military service members and veterans.”
From Earmarks to Steermarks: Sen. Flake has introduced the Steermark Accountability Resolution to allow senators to force votes to strip steermarks – money steered to programs and projects that have not been authorized by Congress – from spending bills. Read the full story here.
Key Takeaway: “With earmarks gone, steermarks ought to be public enemy number one in the effort against wasteful spending,” said Flake. “It’s all too easy to find waste in these unauthorized appropriations, but we’re operating under a system that makes it almost impossible to stop. This resolution will establish a much-needed backstop to ensure an honest debate before a spending bill is allowed to steer taxpayer dollars to an expired agency, program or project.”

US Senate candidate Alex Meluskey: At a time when our military needs more strength, Senator John McCain has advocated closing Colorado’s U.S. Northern Command, thereby killing jobs in the state of Colorado. Many individuals, on both sides of the aisle, have been quick to condemn Senator McCain’s attacks, calling it unnecessary and harmful. "Senator McCain, of all people, should know how crucial our military is, and his proposal to close Colorado’s U.S. Northern Command is bad for our military, for the people of Colorado, and the security of the United States." Alex Meluskey, U.S. Senate candidate, said today. "Our country is facing many international threats which harm our way of life and having a strong military is crucial in dealing with these problems. While we should be increasing our military’s budget and arsenal, Senator McCain’s proposal would only hurt our country, our families, and jeopardize national security. The only way we prevail against these international threats is a strong military. While Senator McCain has forgotten President Reagan’s ‘Peace through Strength’ doctrine, I will always stand for our military and never weaken our armed forces,” said Meluskey. -- Small businessman, radio host and FAIRtax champion Alex Meluskey is running a grassroots campaign to take on sitting U.S. Senator John McCain in the Arizona Republican Primary in the same vein as now-Congressman Dave Brat’s historic 2014 takedown of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Mr. Meluskey is taking on the establishment in Washington, D.C. and an entrenched 5-term Senator at a time when America needs new ideas to solve our nation’s challenges.
LD28 House candidate Mary Hamway: I wanted to take a moment to welcome the four Republican candidates joining me on the ballot. I believe the next three months will bring a spirited debate and a renewed focus on the policies that govern our state. I believe that District 28 needs a strong, mature voice representing them at the Capitol. As a current councilwoman in Paradise Valley, I have worked diligently to make our community a great place to work and live. I have been extensively involved in promoting the town's tourism interests, which provide over 40% of the town's revenue. This past year I led the charge to improve storm water management after so many of our residents were affected by the storms of 2013. I continue to support our limited government model, ensuring that we will not need a property tax any time soon. I have always believed that a state representative should have a well-rounded resume. It takes real-world experience and commitment to tackle the problems facing every-day Arizonans. That is why I am extremely proud of the 18 years I spent in the information technology industry working on projects as large as the Columbia Space Shuttle and as small as moving a company to the paperless office. Finally, I can think of no other district in the state that cares more about education than District 28. As a former PTO President for Kiva Elementary School and a proud parent of an ASU graduate, I know first-hand how critical education is to the future of our Arizona workforce. We need skilled individuals to enter the Arizona workforce, and that starts at the earliest level of elementary school and continues all the way through the university level. It is going to be a fun summer talking with you, the residents of District 28. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on what you want from your state representative, and I will work very hard to gain your trust and vote.
