The Past Couple Of Days stories have circulated that Sen John McCain’s “1969 Tokyo Rose” propaganda recording had been found. See:
When Briefs asked McCain’s office in DC if the Senator had any comment, McCain’s aide Rachael Dean, replied, “Senator McCain has spoken candidly for years, in media interviews and his own memoir, of making a false confession tape after being tortured as a POW in North Vietnam. Although his ‘confession' was coerced by days of extreme physical abuse, he always regretted it. We cannot confirm the authenticity of this audio.” Dean also referred Briefs to McCain’s memoir, Faith of My Fathers, published in 1999.
Sharon Giese, Former Arizona National Republican Committeewoman: My term as your National Committeewoman ended after the Cleveland Convention. Lori Klein Corbin is officially now your new committeewoman. I know she will do a terrific job and make Arizona proud. Robert Graham presented me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers at one of our breakfast meetings at the convention and that is why I'm holding flowers in the delegate and alternate pictures. I surely appreciated the kind gesture. It has been a wonderful journey these past twelve years and I enjoyed traveling the state for your Lincoln Day Dinners, fundraisers, and speaking at your meetings and even a little parliamentary training along the way. The friendships will last a lifetime and it truly was a pleasure representing Arizona at the RNC. Thank you, Arizona.

AZ GOP CD4 Member at Large Rose Sperry: Since 2010 I have been proud to support Congressman Paul Gosar. I’ve consistently watched his career as a conservative Representative match up with those of the other Representatives in Arizona. I’ve watched his score card with Heritage Action consistently rise to the point that today he is at 92%; highest of the Representatives in this state. He is a member of the Freedom Caucus that is not afraid to take on the elite of the GOP. He’s gone against John Boehner and Paul Ryan as we have asked him to do. And it should come as no surprise that these two are working diligently to defeat him and all the other members of this caucus just as they defeated Freedom Caucus member Tim Huelskamp from Kansas last Tuesday. As I write this letter he is being viciously attacked by “1” issue people and by Ray Strauss his opponent - a man that scores “5” on the Americans for Prosperity scorecard for his work on the Buckeye City Council. Just to enlighten you, this score equals Champion of Big Government. And this man has the gall to send flyers that say he will balance the budget, protect our conservative values and stop government overreach! Yah, right. Make no mistake folks, Paul Ryan will love this man to death. Today I am asking all of his constituents to take a stand for Paul Gosar just has he has done for us. This man that has worked tirelessly and has always been available to all of us. A man that has continuously sought us out for the issues that most matter to us. He has not failed us and we must not fail him. Let’s keep a man of principal and integrity in congress.
LD27 PC Art Olivas: Ungrateful career politicians are nothing more than fair weather friends who beg for your support while hanging by your coat tails to get elected but once in office they get amnesia and forget who got them there. Case in point. Where are all the people that Sheriff Joe helps? Sheriff Joe and his wife got off the airplane from California and rush over to endorse Doug Ducey for Gov. Now Sheriff Joe is running for reelection. Where is Doug Ducey and all the others that asked for and got Joe's help? We need to keep them in mind next time they run for office. Remember if they don't support the Sheriff, they sure don't have our best interest on their agenda. This I have seen and believe. Only with our vote can we correct this. We need to stop them from playing musical chairs with government offices.
Maricopa County Republican Committee Member-At-Large Wes Harris: I sure wish Congress would start to exercise its oversight responsibilities. The following article on Student Loans is just one more of thousands of abuses by the Federal Agencies that you all seem to ignore which are foisting 'laws' upon We the People without Congress' approval. bureaucrats-to-dump-billions-in-student-loans-on-taxpayers Time to get involved people, that is why we send you to Washington D.C....otherwise, what is the point?
Independent Researcher Ann Herzer: “Well, well, so Hillary lies! Did anyone hear her double-spin today on the classified emails? It was interesting to watch the media tonight doing their double-spin trying to justify her past and present actions! It is interesting to note that none mentioned this little bit of history! Or, maybe she apologized for her errors and we are humbly expected to forgive. Somehow I keep seeing Benghazi -13 Hours.”
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chair Sharon Day on the 51st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act: “The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was a monumental step forward in ensuring equal rights for every American, and today we honor not just that legislation, but also those who devoted themselves to its passage and sacrificed to see it become law. Guaranteeing the right of every American to vote is a staple of our democracy, and the Republican Party, just as it did in 1965, remains committed to ensuring access and fairness at the ballot box. Through Republican efforts, Americans now have increased voting opportunities through absentee balloting and early voting measures, and as we remember this day in American history, we stand firm in protecting future generations’ right to vote. As the Party of opportunity and fairness, we honor that day in 1965 when barriers of prejudice gave way to civic justice,” said Day. “Today we pay tribute those leaders who courageously fought to give millions of Americans a voice at the polls, and declare once again our Party’s mission of defending the constitutional rights of every American.”

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus on President Obama’s press conference on his failed strategy for confronting ISIS: “Despite President Obama’s best attempts to paint his failures as victories, the fact is his ineffective strategy has produced a stronger ISIS, a weaker America, and a more dangerous world,” said Priebus. “According to the president’s own counterterrorism officials, there has been a three-fold increase in the number of places around the world where ISIS is operating since 2014. As the alarming rise in attacks around the world and here at home show, President Obama has underestimated this threat at every turn, having called ISIS a ‘JV team,’ claiming before the attack in Paris that the group was ‘contained,’ and even admitting at one point that he had no strategy at all. Hillary Clinton has stood shoulder to shoulder with President Obama and his failed approach, declaring that ‘we now finally are where we need to be’ in the fight against ISIS and supporting his secret $400 million ransom payment to the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism. Our country cannot afford more of the same weak leadership which has woefully underestimated the threat of radical Islamic terrorism and exposed more Americans to attacks, but that is exactly what a Hillary Clinton presidency will mean. Donald Trump is the only candidate capable of exercising the toughness at home and abroad we need to defeat this menace.”
Tom Jenney, State Director Americans for Prosperity – Arizona: Teachers work hard every day for their students, but who is working for teachers? According to the unions, they're looking out for teachers. But are unions really listening to teachers? The union puts some of their money into the hands of politicians. Do they know who their paychecks are supporting? If you know teachers who feel like the union isn't representing them well, there is something they can do: resign their membership in the union. Arizona is a right-to-work state, which means teachers cannot be forced to join a union as a condition of employment. Even better, there are organizations teachers can join to receive affordable liability insurance without having to give part of their paychecks to political candidates they don't support. Learn how teachers can protect their paychecks HERE.
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus on Hillary Clinton’s remarks to the National Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Hispanic Journalists: “Judging from the way Hillary Clinton kept lying at today’s event, it’s not hard to see why she hasn’t held a press conference in 244 days,” said Priebus. “Despite her calls for the press to hold candidates accountable, there’s no doubt Hillary Clinton is desperate to avoid a taste of her own medicine. By yet again falsely claiming that what Director Comey said at his press conference is consistent with what she told the American people about her reckless mishandling of classified information, Hillary Clinton is once again proving herself incapable of telling the truth to the nation. Instead of coming clean about her secret email setup which jeopardized national security, Hillary Clinton continues to run from transparency and accountability, and voters deciding on the next president of the United States can have no faith she will level with them on this or any other issue.”

Reminder To Early Voters: If you are supporting a qualified write-in candidate in a contested precinct committeeman precinct, be sure to print their name on the ballot and fill in the arrow – the same way you filled in the arrows for your favorite candidates who were printed on the ballot. Be sure to sign the outside of the envelope.
Safety Tip Floating Around The Internet: Put your car keys beside your bed at night.
If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies. It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage. If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break in your house, odds are the burglar/rapist won't stick around... after a few seconds neighbors will likely be looking out their windows to see who is out there. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there. This could save a life or prevent a sexual assault. Also carry your keys when outside in case you fall or become ill. You can activate the car alarm for help.

300 Word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit, it will be edited.
Congressman Paul Gosar: “Arizonans have achieved another monumental win against bureaucratic overreach. I’m proud to have led the fight to protect the trout-stocking program at Willow Beach on behalf of local anglers and small business owners whose livelihoods depend on this critical hatchery. Nearly 1,700 jobs in Mohave County and close to $75 million in economic output associated with the Willow Beach Hatchery were at stake. This victory is a result of the hard work and vigilance of the many individuals and groups who spoke out in one unified voice declaring that we refuse to let the misguided agenda of federal bureaucrats infringe on our way of life and our economy. The return of the trout-stocking program at Willow Beach should inspire all Americans to remember that when ‘we the people’ stand together and take bold action against big government overreach, we can win. I look forward to joining my fellow anglers and catching Rainbow Trout grown right here in Arizona real soon.”
Congresswoman Martha McSally: “Over the next two weeks, athletes from around the globe will compete for the title of best in the world. Among them are nine men and women from Arizona. Together, they’ve put in countless hours of training, endless amounts of energy, and extreme determination and discipline to reach the heights of their sports. To these athletes, I say congratulations on your already extraordinary achievements. The support and encouragement of Arizonans everywhere are with you as you represent our nation in Rio and go for the gold!” Arizona’s nine members on Team USA, are:
· Tucson: Benard Lagat -Track and Field and Corben Sharrah – Cycling.
· Phoenix: Will Claye - Track and Field, Bethanie Mattek-Sands – Tennis and Jay Shi- Shooting.
· Tempe: Sam Dorman – Diving.
· Globe: Brady Ellison – Archery.
· Mesa: Julie Johnston – Soccer,
· Gilbert: Alex Naddour – Gymnastics.
Sen Jeff Flake: This recent headline “Democrats Make A Play To Turn Arizona Blue” is exactly what we've been fearing here in Arizona for a while -- have you seen this? Hillary Clinton and the Democrats are blitzing Arizona and trying to turn it into another blue state like California! We MUST get ahead of this or we can wave goodbye to conservative control of our state. More than just Republican seats are at stake here. Without conservative principles guiding our policies we can expect to see our taxes rise and our economy plummet. Too much is at stake here and we can't allow the Clinton-led Democrats an inch. chipping in
Sen John McCain applauded the completion of a new water intake system at Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery in Mohave County, Arizona. After a catastrophic failure to the system in 2014, McCain worked with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) to develop an affordable and reasonable solution to repair the pipeline and restore trout-stocking operations, which supports around 1,700 jobs and generates approximately $75 million in economic activity along the Mohave County/Clark County stretch of the Lower Colorado River.
Sen John McCain, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee: “It is morally reprehensible that the Obama administration continues to pursue cooperation with Vladimir Putin in Syria at the same time Russian forces prop up the murderous Assad regime. In recent days, Russian and Syrian regime aircraft have mercilessly bombed hospitals, markets, and aid warehouses to force the citizens of Aleppo to surrender. Now there are reports that the Assad regime has once again used chlorine gas against Syrian civilians, yet another reminder that the Assad regime has still not given up all of its chemical weapons, as international monitors have acknowledged. The United States must not be complicit in allowing Assad to reconsolidate power and legitimizing Russia’s expanded influence in the Middle East, which will only lead to more refugees, more instability, and more terror. The Obama administration’s policy in Syria has long been a failure. And its persistent delusions of Russia as a partner in Syria have been nothing short of embarrassing for our nation. But it will be to the everlasting shame of this President and his administration if we do not change course now.”
Sen John McCain, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee: “Once again, the White House is playing politics with national defense. The President has recently decided to keep more troops in Afghanistan and send more troops to Iraq and Syria. This was the right decision. But now the White House wants to use the troops that the President is sending into harm’s way as political leverage to get an equal amount of spending for federal bureaucrats at the EPA and IRS. There is a word for this: extortion. The need for additional funding to support the growing operational demands on our military is obvious, and it goes far beyond the minimum amount that the White House seems likely to request. If the President believes that sending thousands more young Americans into war is in the national security interest of the United States, he should support the additional funding required to support those warfighters. Full stop. No caveats, no qualifications, and no strings attached. To do anything less would be to place politics above our national defense and our troops.”
Please comply with the 300 word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit,
it will be edited. Briefs does not post endorsements.
US Sen candidate Dr Kelli Ward: “Once he’s elected president, Donald Trump will need a strong partner in the U.S. Senate to Make America Great Again, and that partner is not John McCain, the ultimate establishment insider and Hillary’s favorite Republican, who has repeatedly trashed Trump and his supporters on issue after issue. John McCain is the champion of compromise, open borders, amnesty for illegal aliens, and the importation of Islamist refugees-- the exact opposite of the agenda that will win Donald Trump the White House. The establishment is frantic because they know how close John McCain is to losing and what a signal that would send. Fortunately, we are gaining ground every day, and we have the resources to score a historic upset victory on August 30 when Arizonans honor John McCain’s four decades in DC with retirement and replace him with a conservative champion who will finally heal the VA and mix the mortar to fix the border.”
Ron-Gosselin, US senate candidate Clair Van Steenwyk’s manager: This video should spell the end of John McCain's time in the US Senate. John McCain, In His Own Words On June 2 1969 After you listen to Gabe's video, scroll down until you see you will see another link, that is the audio and you will hear McCain around the 17 minute mark.
