Barbara Medal, LD 4th Vice Chair and Maricopa County Sargent-at -Arms: Fellow Republican’s I had the pleasure of joining the Concerned Veterans For America at an event where they are launching a GOTV targeting vets. They are doing the job that we have needed to do and not been very good at implementing for years. Not only have these men and women that have endured injury, loss of limb and even stared death in the face and  willing to lay down their lives for our freedom; but they have been forgotten by those that they defended. Our Party elected officials have not adequately addressed the horrendous injustice and downright neglect these heroes have suffered at the hands of a corrupt and inept Veteran’s Administration bureaucracy. I just would like to appeal to YOU, my fellow PCs, to join these heroes, with your support, your help and for those of you who have served our great nation, join them and this organization. For more information call Shane Levinson 602-448-6150 or email slevinson@cv4a.org

Charles “Hos” Hoskins, Maricopa County Treasurer: Regarding Laurie Roberts: -Why-Royce-Flora-Allowed-Campaign-Treasurer-Our-Dime I am pleased that she included a copy of Mr. Flora’s letter so everyone can see that is void of any “vote-for-me” language. It is informative and states our commitment to service. It is also part of our effort to support Maricopa County’s Strategic Plan that states – “By the end of 2018, the Treasurer’s Office will increase the number of parcels enrolled to receive paperless statements to 10% . . .” View the entire plan at: http://www.maricopa.gov/StrategicPlan/pdf/StrategicPlan2015-2018v0_0_1.pdf The purpose of the tax bill insert was to persuade property owners to pay their taxes online. This allows us to capture email addresses of taxpayers that are computer savvy so we can offer them the option to receive their tax bills electronically instead of by mail. The cost of printing, paper and staff time to mail tax bills is expensive. Our mailing budget this fiscal year is $905,140 which is bordering on the absurd considering that the technology to go paperless has been around for decades. We have not been able to move toward a paperless environment due to our outdated (1988) IT system which we are in the process of replacing. In fiscal year 2016 we received 2,723,528 property tax payments of which 300,880 (11%) were made online. We need to get the number of online payments up to 500,000 to justify the programming costs associated with delivering tax bills electronically. I don’t expect Mr. Royce’s letter to come close to that, but every available opportunity to increase online payments must be pursued. Finally, anyone that thinks that there is some political benefit from associating your name with property tax bills that have increased considerably should see our mail and answer our phone.

LD18 PC Larry Hilliard: Coming up short means tough budget decisions. It means that we can't afford the next direct mailer or those extra clipboards for voter registration drives. 9/29 email from Pat Barrett (via bluestatedigital.com) I just met with the congresswoman, and we crunched the numbers. We’re still $9,394 short of where we need to be at midnight on the 30th. If we don't close the gap, we'll have to start making really tough budget calls. From most recent Kyrsten Sinema for Congress campaign financial report: Total Receipts: $3,344,720; Total Disbursements: $2,060,156... Cash Summary / Ending Cash on Hand: $1,587,678 And everyday there are multiple emails from her campaign that she NEEDS more money?  Really?

LD13 PC Scott Powelson responds to Mitt Romney’s plead for funding for House Speaker Paul Ryan: I want both of you gone from politics. I don't trust either of you at all you are both symptoms of the problems our nation is dying from. Please slither back into whatever black hole the establishment keeps you in and return not while this country has the spark of liberty! Never contact me again.

AZRRT Update: Arizona State Senate In Danger Of Turning Democrat? by Jose Borrajero Current mix: Republicans = 18 and Democrats = 12. If we lose 3 seats:  Republicans = 15 and Democrats = 15.

What Are The Odds Of That Happening? We Don’t Know, But Have Concerns Because:

   · LD 7: This seat is already lost. With Begay gone, it will for sure be democrat

    · LD18: Liberal republican Dial was ousted by conservative Schmuck in the primary. Schmuck is facing a very credible opponent in democrat Bowie.

    · LD28: Liberal republican Brophy Mcgee is facing powerful liberal democrat Meyer.

    · LD 8: Squishy republican Pratt is trying to wrestle the senate seat from incumbent democrat Mcguire.

If Democrats Gain Control Of The Senate:

   1. Senate president could be a democrat

   2. All committee chairmen will be democrat

   3. All committees will have democrat majorities

   4. Since a handful of republicans already vote with democrats on important issues, this will be a major disaster for all conservatives throughout the whole state, not only within the lost districts.

Therefore, we must do all we can to maintain our republican majority in the AZ senate. If you are in a district that is not facing strong competition, you may wish to help out with any of these contested campaigns. If so, contact them directly using the following contact information:

   Frank Schmuck: http://www.teamschmuck.com/ 602-730-6348

   Kate  Brophy-McGee: http://katemcgee.com/ 480-320-1125

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona yesterday announced its opposition to Proposition 205. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Arizona offers after school programs in the Prescott and Prescott Valley area. “The hours of 3pm to 7pm are the peak times for unsupervised and board youth to get into trouble, commit or become victims of crime and/or experiment with drugs and alcohol which can derail their path to success. That’s why the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona opposes Proposition 205,” The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona Board of Directors said. “Legalized recreational marijuana would work directly against our mission - to enable all young people, especially those who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona provides affordable afterschool programs for youth; aged 6 to 18. These programs are designed to help young people overcome obstacles that may derail their path to success and provides opportunities for youth to focus on academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.”

After Donald Trump took the high road by refusing to bring up the plethora of sexual abuse accusations against Bill Clinton during Monday night’s debate with Hillary, Chelsea Clinton used an interview with Cosmopolitan as an opportunity to play the victim.

Congressman Matt Salmon after the House confirmed the Senate’s veto override of S. 2040, the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act. “The President’s veto was surprising since it prioritized foreign interests over American citizens, but today Congress showed that it answers first to the American people.  I’m proud that members on both sides of the aisle joined together and put American interests ahead of party politics for this historic vote. The September 11th attacks were heinous, but adding insult to injury was a law barring American citizens from seeking compensation simply because some of those who assisted the perpetrators were connected with a foreign government.  Today’s bill rightly remedies that and gives these families access to their own courts for their own protection.”

CONGRESSIONAL STATEMENTS

300 word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit, it will be edited.

Congressman Matt Salmon on word of the passing of Israeli statesman Shimon Peres.“As a trailblazer of peace in the Middle East, Shimon Peres will be deeply missed.  He left his mark on one of our strongest allies through his tireless dedication to the dream of peace. With this dedication, he forged the first agreement between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization, ensuring safety and security for people on both sides of the conflict. His commitment to ending the scourge of violence is a vision today’s conflicted world would do well to embrace. May we recommit ourselves to the cause of peace and work toward peaceful coexistence with all people.”

Congresswoman Martha McSally on the passing of former Israeli Prime Minister and President Shimon Peres:“I join many around the world today in morning Shimon Peres, who served Israel from its earliest days to his last breath. Peres championed Israel’s security and prosperity, and was a key figure who made possible the 1993 Oslo Accords. But he will not just be remembered for his decades of service to his beloved country, but for his optimism and unfailing advocacy for peace. Peres was a visionary who spent his life working toward a better world, someone who reflected the best of all humanity, and his impact will be felt long into the future.”

Congresswoman Martha McSally: Fighting for transparency - Recently, we heard that DHS was potentially suppressing a taxpayer funded report that details the probability of an individual successfully crossing the border illegally, including estimates of those who are not detected by the U.S. Border Patrol. From hearings I've held, we know that DHS is pushing unreliable and incomplete metrics about its effectiveness on the border, which makes this information so important. That's why I sent a letter to Homeland Secretary Jeh Johnson requesting his department release its report before the end of the month. In order to rebuild trust in our system, we need transparency with the American people and full and accurate measurements of our effectiveness along the border. Read letter HERE.

CANDIDATE COMMENTARY

300 word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit, it will be edited.

Congressional candidate Paul Babeu: Our nation is being tested by Russia and Iran. We’re no longer respected by world leaders. Our economic growth continues to underperform. And it’s all on the brink of getting a lot worse if we lose in November -- if we put Hillary in the White House, or lose our majorities in the House and Senate. Winning starts today! I can’t sit by and watch as Obama, Hillary, and their ilk continue to destroy our home. I REFUSE to do nothing, but we need you to help us close strong. The end-of-quarter fundraising deadline is September 30th -- just days away. This is our last opportunity to show the pundits and experts that our momentum is real, and that our supporters are ready to fight for victory over these finals weeks of the campaign. chip in Let’s take our home back from the D.C. progressives.

Corporation Commission candidate Andy Tobin: I wanted to give you an update from the campaign trail. I am getting around the state working with our elected officials and grassroots to get my message of lean responsive government to our voters. We need conservative voices to fight for affordable power to all of Arizona's communities. Last night I spoke at the office opening of the Republican Victory office in Chandler Arizona. It was great to be with people from Chandler, Gilbert, Sun Lakes, and Mesa, who care about our state and nation and will spend their time persuading our fellow citizens to get out and vote. I know the outside interests on the left will attack me as we close out this campaign. With your help I can get my message out and respond to attacks. Please consider a donation today.

CD candidate Paul Babeu: A lot of folks in D.C. like to make excuses or point fingers. No one offers solutions. As a law man, it’s been my job to find the difficult solutions. I don’t get to make excuses, blame someone else, and hope things would go away. I’ll be the same way as your congressman. I’ve seen the impact weak border security has had on our communities. People deserve answers and not pandering. My experience has taught me to stand firm and to fight for my convictions. I think it’s safe to say we share those convictions. In D.C. I’ll fight to deliver the conservative victories our country needs, that the people of Arizona deserve, and I don’t care who I have to go up against to do it. So will you join me? We’re facing a deadline and I need you with me, friend. Chip In Let’s win this together.
