Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Clint Hickman: What a blessing to be invited to the “Believers for Trump” meeting in beautiful Wickenburg this evening! Starting with a wonderful testimonial and prayer by Lydia, owner of La Canasta. Please tell the readers of the Briefs they have just over one month more of opportunity to enjoy great food, great fellowship and great entertainment in your fantastic town as we get ready to Believe FOR Trump!!! Thanks again for inviting me to participate and meet all those great people.

Hickman Made A Very Impressive Presentation in Wickenburg last night as the humorous side of the soft spoken Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman had the room full of guests laughing at his memories of how Hickman’s Egg Farm made a gift of live pigs to Sheriff Joe to turn into food for inmates at the county jail and other hilarious events that occurred along the line in Hickman’s political career after he was appointed to replace former BOS member Max Wilson, who resigned several years ago due to health problems. Hickman is currently running for election to a full term, after serving out Wilson’s term in office. Hickman runs unopposed for the position. – ft

Sheriff Joe Arpaio was also scheduled to speak last night at the Believers For Trump meeting, however, he had to cancel at the last moment to appear with GOP Vice-Presidential candidate Mike Pence at the Trump Rally in Mesa. Arpaio is part of the Arizona Trump Team and has introduced Trump during Trumps trips to Phoenix since last spring.

Former Arizona Republican Party Chairman Tom Morrissey: As Chairman of Arizona Veterans For Donald Trump I have had the honor of meeting with fellow veterans from all branches of the service.  Most have served in World War II, the Korean War, The Viet Nam War, in Desert Storm and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  With no exception, there is a common core and a strong sense of patriotism woven by their love of country.   These men and women stand together proudly, as they salute our flag and swear allegiance to the Constitution, whenever and wherever they can. One such veteran is Captain George Burk, (Retired) who is a perfect example of strength gained through personal experience.  He was the sole survivor of a military air crash, left with devastating injuries, who rose above those injuries to become a college professor, published author, radio and TV personality and a motivational speaker to first responders and military cadets and personnel all around this country.  Captain Burk, unabashedly, supports Donald Trump for Commander-in-Chief for reasons he states in the attached short video.  Please take a few minutes to watch and hear this hero's reasons for his support of Donald Trump. Burk On Trump

Former PC Marnie Haney:  We received a phone call from Dorothy Westfall this morning alerting us to this great film which she watched last evening.  She reports it is very informative, well done and may help our Christian voters decide who to vote for in November's critical election. EWTN (DISH, ch.261) reports the movie is "a look at the life, ideals and works of 1960's community activist Saul Alinsky with a Catholic perspective."  Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have claimed him as an important mentor to their development as political activists. It is such an important message for voters that you may want to host a 'viewing party' like Rob and I plan to do.  Please help us spread the news of this movie and it's showing time (DIRECT TV is ch. 370 and COX is ch. 113) to all your email and facebook friends.  St. Michael the Archangel, pray for us.

The Movie "A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing", will be shown at 3 pm. (Phx time), Sat., Sept 24 on EWTN, Channel 370 on Direct TV.  Look in your Guide for EWTN if you do not have Direct TV.

Arizona Town Crier Jim Ely: What is the role of ‘leadership’?  In business if one doesn’t do what the boss says, one can be fired; in the military if one doesn’t do what the senior (leader) says one can be punished or court martialed.  Elected leadership is different.  When one is elected to a position of leadership in a volunteer organization, the person elected is then expected to represent the will of those who did the electing.   In an election by a majority, the will of the majority should prevail.  Apparently, not so in Arizona.  There are thousands of elected Precinct Committeemen in Arizona; how well has the address of their concerns been met by the party leadership??  We have some outstanding ‘web sites’ and ‘news emails’.  And as such we who visit those ‘web pages’ or read those ‘emails’ are privy to very good information.  The following is a good example: Never McCain And, there are other good examples on the ‘net’.  Whether or not one agrees with Rob Haney, the question comes to mind, whom does Haney represent?  And that also goes for other articles that we read on the net, including those by the Arizona Town Crier.  Represent, not just agree or disagree.  There are number of leadership positions in the GOP in Arizona.  But not to discount the chairs of the LDs, the most important chairs, or positions of party leadership, are  the 15 county chairs since they have purview over the thousands of Precinct Committeemen (who are largely ignored).  Now consider, if the state party chairman - after a meeting with the 15 county chairmen who represents the thousands of Precinct Committeemen (WE THE PEOPLE) - had of made a presentation such as Haney, and others, took the time and trouble to do, one wonders just how would it resonate with the GOP in Arizona??   LEADERSHIP?

The Arizona Police Association has come out against Proposition 205, joining the Arizona State Troopers Association, the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police and the Arizona Fraternal Order of Police. “As we have seen in states that have legalized recreational marijuana, the unintended consequences consume resources, time, and bodies that Arizona’s police force does not have,” said Arizona Police Association Executive Director Dr. Levi Bolton. “Prop 205 will bring a rise in crime, drugged driving, and accidental ingestion among Arizona’s youth. As an organization that works to support police officers and ensure Arizona law enforcement can keep our roads and communities safe, the APA must take a stand against Prop 205.”

Trump for President signs, door hangers and bumper stickers are available at the Gila County Headquarters, 307C S, Beeline Hwy, behind KFC & Buffalo Grill in Payson. Saturday is also a "Wave Sign Day" in Payson. Wave those Trump/Pence signs and hand them to people that go by. Contact: Lolly Hathhorn (928)474-2334.

LD 21 PC Randy Miller: We just had our monthly meeting in LD 21 meeting a week ago and were voting on issues we were supporting that go on the door card for voters. I was disappointed in the views expressed by Debbie Lesko. Debbie stood and professed her disapproval for supporting the Fire Department override for Sun City claiming she doesn’t believe on raising taxes on home owners and is a supporter of small government. I found this a direct contradiction to her sitting on the appropriations committee, receiving direct testimony from the director of the Department of Child Safety that he misspent $45 million and her failing to ascertain where the money went. After obvious outrage expressed from our LD on hearing this news, myself and a couple of other PC’s insisted on an audit on the department. Then for this year’s budget, Debbie supported a $64 million increase for the same department’s budget with no accountability and with a plan that is more costly and impracticable. How is this supporting small, accountable government and how is it in line with conservative values? We conservatives believe in limited government yes, but we also believe that the number one goal of legislators is to protect the rights and liberties under the constitution and provide for public safety and security! The Sun City Fire department facility was built in the middle of the Vietnam War; is using equipment (fire trucks) that was purchased 18 years ago and they are asking for facility improvements large enough to house new equipment so it can continue to service the citizens of Sun City. This is not big government or “un-conservative” values if you support this. Contrary to the vote, this should be supported for the citizens of Sun City. What is the costs to citizens if they close the fire station?

CONGRESSIONAL STATEMENTS

Please comply with the 300 word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit,it will be edited.

Congresswoman Martha McSally has sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson requesting the release of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report detailing new measures of Border Patrol effectiveness. The letter follows media reports last week that DHS is suppressing the information. “I am writing to express my concern over recent press reports suggesting that the Administration has suppressed an important tax-payer funded border security report that details the probability of an individual successfully crossing the border illegally, including estimates of those who are not detected by the U.S. Border Patrol,” McSally wrote in the letter. “In order to rebuild trust in our system, we need transparency with the American people and full and accurate measurements of our effectiveness along the border.” In March, a hearing held by McSally revealed that Border Patrol only has roughly 56% situational awareness of the southern border, calling into question their claim of 80% effectiveness. Independent studies suggest the actual effectiveness rate is closer to 50%. McSally requests that DHS submit the final report to Congress no later than September 30, 2016. Letter HERE.

Congresswoman Martha McSally: After bombings around New York City and a terrorist attack at a Minnesota mall this weekend, McSally questioned top law enforcement from around the country at a Homeland Security Committee hearing about emerging terror threats. McSally’s questioning focused on the rising occurrence of female jihadi fighters and the need for continued information sharing among law enforcement. “I held a roundtable with my colleague Kathleen Rice on this phenomena months ago because there’s a very specific dynamic here that we haven’t seen before, where we have girls and women not just being victimized and recruited, but also being hardened jihadists themselves, and actually leading some of those efforts,” McSally said during the hearing. “For the 250 Americans who have attempted to go to Syria, 1 in 6 are women…Do your outreach efforts have anything focusing specifically on women and girls that are becoming radicalized or are they just part of your general efforts for outreach?”
