LD23 Rep Jay Lawrence: “I have sent a formal complaint via the attorney general's web site, regarding the Phoenix ID card issued to illegal immigrants. Sanctuary cities are against the law. The ilaw, proposed by Senator Biggs, voted on by the state house and senate, and signed by the Governor is in effect right now. The City of Phoenix, if found to be acting against this law, will forfeit state funds until they are in compliance. The funds, according to the law, will be divided among the other cities in the state.”
Former Maricopa County Sheriff candidate Wayne Baker: “Well the time has come and the primary election is over. I was hoping the outcome would be different but it is what it is and I have no choice but to accept it. We started this campaign very late in the game, actually towards the end April of 2016 and although we did not win I am very proud of the efforts. We were able to garner 12,800 of the votes and that is still admirable as far as I'm concerned. Thank you to all who were a part of this campaign whether by gathering signatures, donating monies, donating time, spreading the word to your family and friends, and finally by voting for me in the election. I would also like to thank the various groups that allowed us time to present our views and ideas for the sheriff's office. This was a very informative campaign and I have gained a great deal of knowledge in the political field, both good and bad. I don't know what the future will bring but I say God Speed to all and God Speed to the United States of America.”
CD5 candidate Andy Biggs: "Over the last 48 hours, we have witnessed one of the most remarkable electoral turnarounds in the history of Arizona politics. We started yesterday down more than 500 votes and finished it by winning the election by 9 votes, and clinching the Republican nomination for Arizona's Fifth District. The extraordinary grassroots efforts in the final weeks to drive out our voters was an undeniable factor in this turnaround. It is also the reason we stand victorious today. We cannot thank our volunteers and supporters enough for making this happen. The fight does not end now. We will now focus on winning the general election in November so we can continue fighting in Congress and change Washington from the inside-out."
Kelli Ward Campaign Team: Please know how much your support throughout the campaign has been appreciated. It’s time to take down signs. Many of you have put them up and know exactly where they are located. Others, may not yet want to help remove them; and didn’t get corner locations from all sign installers unfortunately in a few areas of Phoenix. We have until Sept 9th to remove signs or else our campaign could incur a fine. We will arrange for pickup (or a drop off location) once signs are removed. East Valley locations have red, white and blue signs that can also be removed and retained. In particular, I’m concerned about the following locations as either people that installed are gone from the campaign staff, have injuries or on vacation. If any of you are in these areas and can get them please do so. If you need a list of locations, please email Kay Reardon (firstname.lastname@example.org) for the cross streets and she will send it. Again, thank you and we have to keep fighting the good fight. Please call, text or email if you need anything at all. Carolyn Leff is also able to take calls on the campaign phone at 928-230-0633

Scottsdale City Councilwoman Virginia Korte: As I campaign for re-election to the City Council, I meet with lots of people to discuss issues and how to keep our city headed in the right direction. I have made many new acquaintances. And I am also reminded of how blessed I am to have such great long-time friends since I became actively involved in our community more than 30 years ago. I depend on these friendships to support me not only during the good times, but when times get tough. One of the long-time friendships I cherish most is the one I share with Art DeCabooter, the past president of Scottsdale Community College. I have worked both for and with Art longer and on more projects to improve our education system than I can remember. I want to publicly thank Dr. DeCabooter for his unconditional friendship and support. He has been a true inspiration to me.

Sen John McCain has opened a new campaign website the goes after his challenger for the US Senate seat. "Democrat Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick has spent nearly a decade in office serving as a rubber-stamp for the liberal establishment and Arizona families are paying the price," said Lorna Romero, Communications Director. "In an effort to mislead Arizona voters, Kirkpatrick is trying to re-write her political record, but the reality is she votes with fellow Democrats nearly 90% of the time. Her reckless vote for the dangerous Iran Nuclear Deal and her blind support of the failing Obamacare system proves she is too liberal for Arizona."
