Yesterday, The Trump-Pence Campaign Announced the expansion of its team in Arizona with the appointment of 14 Arizona County Chairmen. “These talented men and women will bring a wealth of experience and strong community ties to the campaign, and their appointment signals the importance that the campaign is placing on the state of Arizona,” said the campaign’s Arizona State Chairman Phil Lovas. “They will help get out Mr. Trump’s message of making America great again. LD28 Senate candidate Kate Brophy McGee: Over Labor Day weekend insidious people were on full display, stealing Kate Brophy McGee yard signs from constituent yards in the district. The irony of the timing was not lost on me. I have numerous reports of my yard signs disappearing from private homes late at night. One constituent captured eyewitness video of the act in progress. This is not an isolated, random act of vandalism. It is deliberate, coordinated and widespread. I want you to know this is occurring in our district. It is vandalism, theft, an affront to freedom of speech and expression, a violation of private property rights and worst of all, perpetuates the narrative that political civility and discourse are of the past. I find these dirty campaign tactics deplorable. I publicly denounce them and call upon my opponent to do the same. Please keep a sharp eye out for more incidents like this one. These are felonies. Please let me know of any witnessed thefts or videos so we can add to the complaint and prosecute them. Any supporters with missing Kate Brophy McGee campaign signs, please contact my campaign office for a replacement sign or signs. The constituent who recorded the theft above, requested THREE replacement signs! Let’s all do that! As always, we deliver and install!

Secretary Of State Michelle Reagan: Protecting voter registration information is the number one priority for my Office’s cybersecurity team. That’s why we’ve been concerned with inaccurate reports regarding our voting equipment and the potential exposure of registration data. We have made a number of upgrades in Arizona’s plan for election integrity and those improvements have enhanced the security of your information. Last week the media suggested both Arizona and Illinois had suffered hacks of their elections computer systems. Those reports implied our state failed to take adequate precautions to prevent a SQL inject attack. Those reports are inaccurate. Our computer security experts tell me that no unauthorized user ever got access to State voter registration information. At most someone stole a login ID of a county election worker. And, several months ago, we implemented all of the recommendations cited in those media reports to prevent SQL injection attacks. But still, I worry about election integrity issues every day. Over the next decade our state will have to develop and implement a plan to replace aging voting equipment and streamline the state’s voter data systems. We work closely and cooperatively with county election officials to ensure ballots are counted accurately. We test every counting machine before every election. Historically our counties have had to pay for new election equipment as they felt they needed it. So elections equipment is considered in the same context as the sheriff’s department budget or road paving allocations. I understand why lots of other things get replaced or updated before elections equipment but the time has arrived to focus on this issue.

Salmon serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific. He is also a member the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.

Yesterday, US Sen John McCain introduced the Protection from Obamacare Monopolies Act, legislation that would exempt those who live in a county with one or no Obamacare health providers from the individual mandate penalty. This bill would apply to 14 of Arizona's 15 counties--13 of which are left with only one option for a health insurance provider under Obamacare. Arizona's Pinal County has the distinction of being the only county in the country with zero options on the exchange. He also joined Senate Republicans this Congress in sending the first repeal of Obamacare to the President’s desk, and has introduced legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare with solutions that work by putting patients back in charge of their health care decisions. Earlier this year, McCain introduced the Empowering Patients First Act. McCain's Op-ed here.
