10-1-16 Briefs

Republican Briefs

Editor Frosty Taylor         Web Master John Strasser

Best of Phoenix - Best Republican Tip Sheet: “As long as Arizona remains a one-party state, or anything close to it, Frosty Taylor's MCRC Briefs, a daily newsletter regarding all things AZ GOP, will remain required reading for politicos, sort of like The Arizona Capitol Times' Yellow Sheet, 'cept the MCRC Briefs ("MCRC" standing for Maricopa County Republican Committee) is as free as the beer at a frat party. Taylor, once the award-winning editor of the erstwhile Paradise Valley News-Progress, fills her tusker tip-sheet with the latest gossip, statements from Republican politicians and party activists, links to innumerable articles of interest to GOPers and those who follow them, and coverage of Republican activities in the state. For reporters, it's a gold mine of possible stories on the Republican ruling class on one side, grassroots Tea Partiers on the other, and everyone in between.” Best-Republican-Tip-Sheet

Tom Morrissey, Immediate Past Chairman AZ GOP: I just returned from our annual meeting of retired deputy and US marshals, held this year in Albuquerque.  And while there I spoke with many of my colleagues about the presidential race.  I was not surprised at the amount of enthusiastic support, clearly evident in the vast majority of attendees for Donald Trump.  These folks, who come from the law enforcement community, were expressing deep frustration with the way Hillary Clinton "skated" her way through some devastating allegations made against her.  They found it hard to swallow the FBI's refusal to indict her, but understood why, given that the FBI works under President Obama. We watched Monday's debate and while Hillary's responses drew groans, Trumps drew loud cheers.  Just letting you know.

Art Olivas Announces LD27 Chairmanship Candidacy: “I can't say that I have been asked by hundreds! But some that were active members at LD27 and left because we were getting nowhere fast under Ron Harders and his Executive Committee. Who has disappeared! Ron Harders got rid of Christ Morrill the only one that used to go to most meetings. Now I said that I was not going to run for Chairman of LD27! But I have received a number of emails from very good and hard-working PC's asking me to run! And I will. Why? Because my wife and I monitor the Mexican TV stations and I saw a political ad by the Snake in the grass John McCain where he is asking Mexicans for their vote and in return he will give them immigration reform. If you look at the picture you will see Jeff Flake with him!! Now all the so called Republican Elite tell us vote Republican!! Believe me these RINOs are not I repeat these snakes are not Conservative or Republicans. As always I will not be political correct or kiss anybody's behind. In my eyes John McCain and all his butt kissing RINOS need to go live in the Mexico that they love so much!! I became A republican to serve my country not to destroy it. You can take that to the bank. Arthur Olivas Jr. I say what I mean and I mean what I say!! YEP I will run for chairman of LD27. Thank you one and all for believing in me!!”

AAARC Chairman Rev Clyde Bowen: I've heard there is no such thing as bad publicity. Just ask Donald Trump. Congratulations on your" Best Of" award in the New Times. You deserve it. You keep me and others, so informed to the issues. I send you to friends from California to Massachusetts. Next up should be an award from the Party for all you do. I'm happy others than the usual lock step rank & file know about you. You're building community, now more than you know. You're a True Patriot!

Kimberly Yee received the Golden Apple Award from the AZ Parents for Education Thursday evening.

LD24 Activist/Photographer Brent Brooks: Would you mind sharing this video I made in the Briefs? 7,500 trump yard signs distributed in one day Last Saturday I volunteered at an event where 7,500 Trump yard signs were picked up by supporters from all over Arizona. Then I made a video to show just how much momentum there was that day!

The Commission On Presidential Debates Revealed In A One-Sentence Statement Friday That Donald Trump's Audio Was Impacted In The First Presidential Debate With Hillary Clinton. "There were issues regarding Donald Trump's audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall," the commission said in a statement. No other details were immediately made available. Trump complained earlier in the week that his microphone wasn't functioning properly at Monday's debate. "And they also had, gave me a defective mic. Did you notice that? My mic was defective within the room," he told a group of reporters afterward. "No, but I wonder, was that on purpose? Was that on purpose? But I had a mic that wasn't worked properly, with, working properly within the room."

Lyle J. Rapacki, Ph.D., Protective Intelligence and Assessment Specialist: Yesterday, the Attorney Generals in the States of Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, and Nevada filed an emergency action in Federal Court petitioning the delay of the Obama administration’s proposed release of the Internet agency solely responsible for Internet Assigned Numbers and Addresses in the United States of America to an international authority overseen by the United Nations.  Obama’s plan would consign the critical function of governance of the Internet to the international community coordinated by the United Nations, thereby rendering the Internet vulnerable to censorship by unknown foreign powers regardless of whatever rules and policies are in effect.  This action would have a direct ability to “effectively enable or prohibit (free) speech on the Internet.”    Quoting from the emergency petition, “ICANN has a documented history of ignoring or operating outside of its governing bylaws.  In addition, even under NTIA’s (National Telecommunications and Information Administration) oversight, ICANN’s current practices often foster a lack of transparency that, in turn, allows illegal activity to occur.”  The emergency petition filed under this date is a most serious and critical attempt to STOP the American Internet from being collapsed into the global community, and away from the oversight and general maintenance so respected and enjoyed all these years.  The plan to transfer the Internet into global hands is a potential National Security threat as well.
