12-19-16 Briefs

Republican Briefs

Editor Frosty Taylor     Web Master John Strasser

Arizona’s Presidential Electors will cast their votes for President of the United States at a meeting of the Electoral College at 10 am., today (Mon, Dec 19) at the State Capitol Executive Tower in Phoenix. Arizona’s 2016 Republican Presidential Electors are: Bruce Ash, Walter Begay, Jr., Sharon Giese, Robert Graham, Alberto Gutier, Jerry Hayden, Carole Joyce, Jane Pierpoint Lynch, J. Foster Morgan, James O’Connor and Edward Robinson. The 11 electors, appointed by AZGOP Robert Graham, have signed pledges to cast their votes for President-elect Donald J Trump.

Editor’s Note: On Dec 6, AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham sent a letter to LD/County Chairmen regarding complaints he had  received about LD Organizational Meetings. See Graham’s letter at 12-10-2016_Briefs archive Due to the length of the documents referred to below, Briefs isn’t posting the two full documents. However, they are now posted in their entirety on the LD23 website. I urge readers, particularly LD Chairs, state committeemen, and PCs to click on both of the links below and read Graham’s Dec 9 letter to LD23 former Chairman Jim O’Connor (currently one of three candidates vying to replace Graham as the AZGOP Chairman) Graham to O'Connor 12-9-16 ; and newly elected LD23 Chairman Nancy Ordowski’s response challenging what her LD23 Board and their legal counsel “believe is an unjustifiable attempt to prevent their participation in the upcoming AZGOP Statutory meeting”  Ordowski to Graham 12-15-16. - ft

LD23s Website Lead-In To Ordowski’s Letter: Newly Elected LD23 Chairman Nancy Ordowski: This notice is for all of our PCs but it is especially important for those chosen by the membership on December 1 as our 119 state committeemen nominees.  These 119 PCs will be "officially elected" as state committeemen at the MCRC Statutory Meeting on January 14, 2017 in preparation for the AZGOP Statutory Meeting to be held on January 28, 2017. Our December 1 Organizational Meeting was held in strict compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes, and in accordance with the bylaws of District 23 Republican Committee, Maricopa County Republican Committee, and the Arizona Republican Party.

We recently received (by e-mail) a letter from AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham which made allegations that our December 1 election was not "legitimate."  He also asserted that, unless our district took certain steps at his direction, "the state party will consider these state committeemen positions vacant and will fill them according to state law."  The elected officers of District 23 Republican Committee have thoroughly reviewed Chairman Graham's allegations in consultation with legal counsel, and we consider them to be totally without merit and beyond the scope of his position as AZGOP Chairman.  It is our responsibility to defend our PCs and our rightfully chosen state committeemen nominees from what we believe is an unjustifiable attempt to prevent their participation in the upcoming AZGOP Statutory Meeting.

We ask that you please take the time to read:  1] the December 9, 2016 letter from Robert Graham to Chairman Emeritus Jim O'Connor (candidate for AZGOP Chairman) Graham-Dec 9 letter; and 2] the December 15 reply to Robert Graham from Chairman Nancy Ordowski Ordowski response to Graham

Gary P. Morris, Chairman Gila County Republican Committee - Historic Successes for the GCRC: Gila County continues to make historic progress following this year’s General Election. First, Gila County had the second highest voter turnout of all counties with 77.63 percent, the highest on record for the County. For nearly 100 years, Gila County was a Democrat stronghold. In 2010, Republicans were 14 percent behind Democrats in voter registration in the county and Democrats held nearly all the 15 county elected offices. Today, Republicans are 26 percent ahead in voter registrations and the County is solidly red. In 2012, the first Republican sheriff since statehood was elected. With the 2016 elections, Gila County experienced another historic event when Republicans ousted two incumbent Democrat members of the Gila County Board of Supervisors and for the first time since statehood all three members of the Gila County Board of Supervisors are Republicans. Additionally, Republicans now hold all but three of the 15 elected offices in the county. And in another major success for Gila County, Republican Frank Pratt defeated incumbent Democrat Barbara McGuire to make Arizona Legislative District 8 all Republican for the first time in recent memory. For Legislative District 6, all three incumbent Republicans were re-elected. These successes were a collaborative effort of the Gila County Republican Committee, the Rim Country Republican Club (Payson), the Cobre Valley Republican Club (Globe) and the Payson Tea Party.

Veteran/Activist Bill Heuisler: "The University of Wisconsin Offers Course on the Problem of Whiteness” is splashed in recent bold headlines. Consider the Historic Ignorance in college classrooms. The United States is the only country in the world that fought a war to rid itself of black slavery. 150 years ago hundreds of thousands of descendants of Europeans were killed or maimed to free hundreds of thousands of descendants of Africans. First time in world history.
Like many American Union families who suffered losses in the Civil War, my great grandfather died at Fredericksburg with the 121st Pennsylvania Volunteers. That is "volunteers", Professor.  And anyone who doubts the reasons for our American Civil War should repeat the words in the "Battle Hymn of The Republic" sung by marching Union soldiers - "as He died to make men holy, we will die to make men free..." Remember that, Professor?

All Americans should resent the accusations of racism carelessly thrown about and remember African American lives were steadily improving prior to Democrat President Lyndon Johnson's Civil Rights Legislation of the mid-sixties that paid poor women to have children without a man being in the home. Called "Aid To Dependent Children" this Liberal insanity was hailed as progress by many black leaders! So, instead of unsheathing the divisive word, Racism, every politician, critic, columnist, student, worker and (particularly) professor should ask the obvious question: Where are all those responsible black men when their children are born? Why is this TRUTH - this massive irresponsibility - seldom even mentioned, let alone taught in class? How can black society even survive (Whiteness or not) when 73% of all black children cannot hold their father's hand and ask for his approval? Our Colleges are twisting US history and failing (all) our children in the name of Political Correctness.

Loretta Lynch Shattered the “Russian Hacking” Narrative: Attorney General Loretta Lynch addressed the wide-spread Russian hacking narrative, saying “we didn’t see the sort of tactical interference that I know people had concerns about.” Lynch was asked about the impact Russian hackers may have had on the 2016 election. Counter to the prevailing news being peddled by Democrats and the liberal media, Lynch said there was little evidence the Russians had violated the integrity of the U.S. election system.

Congressional-Push-For-Sanctions-Against-Russia-Could-Set-Up-Clash-With-Trump And on Sunday’s  “State of the Union” on CNN, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), the Armed Services Committee chair and a hardliner on Russia who believes that country hacked the election, called for a single select committee to investigate the alleged Russian meddling, as did incoming Senate Democratic leader Charles E. Schumer of New York. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has rejected that approach.

Congressman Paul Gosar: As we come to the end of an eventful 2016, I wanted to share with you all the work we have been able to accomplish this past year as well discuss what to expect moving forward with the Trump Administration beginning in January of 2017. But before we look to the future, I’d like to briefly look back and thank all of you who have interacted with my office and played an important role in joining with me to build a better Arizona. In 2016, my office received more than 40,000 letters, phone calls and emails from engaged constituents throughout Arizona...

· 230 Washington, DC tours accommodated

· 844 constituent cases closed

· 41,173 letters sent to constituents

· 25 townhalls and public meetings held

· Traveled more than 11,000 miles in CD4

Let me say from the bottom of my heart...Thank you! Your perspectives and opinions help me do a better job serving you, because at the end of the day, the only people I am beholden to is YOU!

I was a dentist before running for public office and my philosophy for solving problems has remained the same… asking where does it hurt… and how can I help? But above all else, I learned that listening is the most important thing I can do.

The solutions for many of the problems facing America today aren’t going to come from Washington D.C. bureaucrats, but rather hard-working folks across America who have real world experience. The only way we can solve these challenges is by having constructive conversations and I am so grateful to all of you… including many of our local leaders and elected officials… who have worked with my staff and me to build positive solutions for Arizona.
