Activist Nina Marlow: I thought you might be interested in an email I received today regarding proxy PC’s and how to find them and their illegitimate signatures on their petitions or at least how it was (reportedly) done in LD26 - Cairo Precinct.  Shaming is a very effective tool in public political discourse. Interesting video which walks you through the steps taken in this precinct. See Precinct Committeeman Petition Challenge When checking a Wilshire Precinct (this past summer) I also found 1 or 2 Democrats on petitions and was told it was past the 10 days to questions legitimacy of PC petitions.  This was back around Primary time.  My LD15 was taken over in November by a total of more than 50 proxy's many of which were carried by Heather Carter.  It would be interesting to pull them up and investigate what happened there.  The new board was mostly people no one had ever seen or heard of from previous meetings.  I did go through a partial list of attendees and it appears there are a few PC's whose registration is Party Not Declared and two Democrats.  I am going to look into it more thoroughly after Christmas. Editor’s Note: The e-mail gave a step by step pattern on how to find discrepancies on PC paperwork – similar to the steps taken in the video.

Rae Chornenky, LD22 Chairwoman: There will not be the regular monthly meeting of Legislative District 22 in January, 2017.  Instead, we will all convene at the Maricopa Statutory Meeting on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the El Zaribah Shrine at 552 N. 40th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008. Credentialing begins at 9:00 a.m. and the Call to order will be 10:30 a.m.  All PCs in Maricopa County are to attend this meeting.  New county officials will be elected and other business will be conducted. The State Statutory Meeting which only our LD 22 elected State Committeemen attend will be on Saturday, January 28, 2017.  State officers will be elected at this meeting. Please plan to attend the January 14, 2017 meeting.

Jeff Oravits, Chairman, Coconino County Republican Committee: Thank you to the Republicans of Coconino County for electing me as your new Chairman and thanks to the new board for stepping up to serve. I’d also like to thank the past Chair Joan Harris and past board members for their hard work these past two years. I see great opportunity ahead and challenges we must face head on.I look forward to growing our party and the conservative movement in Coconino County.  The first task I see as a priority is to try and fix the “unintended consequences" of proposition 414, Flagstaff’s $15 minimum wage.  We must try to at least amend this law to avoid what I see as an impending economic blunder of epic proportions for Flagstaff.  Please join me on January 4th at noon for our monthly Lunch with Conservative Friends for a discussion on this issue. I will be pushing hard on outreach to all of Coconino County so that the CCRC is more than a Flagstaff centric committee.  I also see a need for outreach to other committees, especially Yavapai, Gila and Navajo so that we can work more closely on elections that we have in common such as LD6 and CD1.  I will also be bringing in new PC’s and preparing all PCs for what I see as our primary goal:  electing Republicans to local, state and federal office.  I anticipate that we will spend a lot of time preparing for the next election by training PCs for definite action in their precinct.  In closing, I appreciate your support in this new venture as Chair and I’m thankful for your support and trust.  I am confident we will be successful in the effort to further Conservative and Republican ideals in Coconino County.

The Central Republican Women of Phoenix will meet at 6:15pm, Thurs., Jan 5, 2017 at the Hilton hoenix suites, 10 E Thomas Road in Phoenix for dinner and to hear Treasurer-Elect Royce T. Flora speak on property taxes and current financial issues in Maricopa County.  $30 per person. 5:30 pm social hour. RSVP to Jan Webb at, or 602-318-1010, no later than Sun, Jan 1, whether attending or not attending.  All reservations will be dinner reservations; a reservation is considered paid unless canceled by Sun, Jan 1.

Zack Taylor, Chairman and Border Security Expert - National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers: New Mexico Governor Toney Anaya declared New Mexico a Sanctuary State in 1986. Albuquerque is a Sanctuary City within a Sanctuary State that has a notorious reputation for cultivating violent illegal alien criminals within their jurisdiction. Many transnational criminals are also illegal aliens.  Twenty five years later Governor Martinez undeclared New Mexico as a sanctuary state in 2011, however, the characteristics of the former lawlessness have once again arisen in down town Albuquerque. What New Mexico and Albuquerque are experiencing in this beheading are the benefits of encouraging criminals per se to congregate among the otherwise peaceful inhabitants of their city and state. It is one thing to un-declare a jurisdiction a sanctuary locality or state it is quite another to make it so and Albuquerque and New Mexico obviously have a long way to go before realizing the return of the rule of law. The equation is simple:  Sanctuary Cities + Illegal Aliens = Transnational Crime    A lesson New Mexico has yet to learn in spite of the overwhelming evidence. President-elect Donald Trump signaled Thursday that he will look to "strengthen and expand" US nuclear capability, tweeting just hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin called for enhancing his country's nuclear program. "The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes," Trump tweeted. Hours earlier in Moscow, Putin said in a defense speech that Russia needs to "enhance the combat capability of strategic nuclear forces, primarily by strengthening missile complexes that will be guaranteed to penetrate existing and future missile defense systems."

Consumer Spending Increased 0.2% Last Month, missing economist expectations for an increase of 0.3%. Consumer spending accounts for more than two-thirds of U.S. economic activity.Personal incomes were unchanged. The Wall Street estimate was for an increase of 0.3%.

President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Republican National Committee Communications Director Sean Spicer to serve as White House press secretary, Trump's transition team has announced.  At the same time, the transition team said that Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks will become director of strategic communications, Jason Miller, a top spokesman on Trump's presidential campaign, will be director of communications, and Trump social media guru Dan Scavino will be director of social media.  "Sean, Hope, Jason and Dan have been key members of my team during the campaign and transition. I am excited they will be leading the team that will communicate my agenda that will Make America Great Again," Trump said in a statement.

The Maricopa County Republican Statutory Meeting is scheduled Jan 14, 2017 at the El Zaribah Shriner’s Auditorium, 552 N. 40th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008, not the Polly Rosenbaum Building, as originally announced. Contrary to reports, the Shriner’s auditorium has NOT been renamed the Polly Rosenbaum Building. They are located on the opposite sides of metropolitan Phoenix, so be sure you are heading for the Shriner’s Auditorium. You don’t want to arrive late for credentials registration.

Phoenix City Councilman #6 Sal DiCiccio: Ronald Reagan once said "Christmas is a holiday that we celebrate not as individuals nor as a nation, but as a human family." This time of year always reminds me of this quote. I see signs of this all around my district, from the hikers that gathered around the Christmas tree on Camelback Mountain to those who visited the 59th annual Christmas Idea House by Desert Club, which raised money for scholarships and local charities. I see our community helping and supporting each other in so many ways. This Christmas, as I gather around our tree with my family, I will be grateful that we live in a nation that lets us celebrate this holiday not only as individuals, but also as a community and a human family. We also need to remember those in our military, police and fire who protect us and our freedoms so we can be with our families this holiday season. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Scottsdale City Councilwoman Virginia Korte: As 2016 is winding down and with Christmas less than one week away, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and also a Happy New Year.  I hope you, your family and friends have a safe and peaceful holiday season.   Soon the City Council will return to work -- so I want to let you know about my number one priority for 2017. It is critical that we begin aggressively investing in improving the city’s infrastructure.  Our current infrastructure needs are estimated to be in excess of $300 million.  If we do not start to seriously address those needs, it will be exceptionally difficult to catch up.  As the costs mount, we cannot afford to ignore maintaining the city’s systems and structures that contribute to our quality of life.  Keeping up with our infrastructure needs is also important in continuing to make our city a destination for visitors and something that attracts new businesses.
I hope you will join me in not only supporting the need to focus on our infrastructure, but also in advocating that we start planning to make the essential investment necessary to keep Scottsdale special and prospering. I invite you to give me your thoughts on how we can achieve these objectives.  You can write me at Again, have a safe and happy holiday..
