The Republican Party of Maricopa County rejects President Obama’s unilateral, executive action to restrict the second amendment rights of the American people,” said Republican Party of Maricopa County chairman Tyler Bowyer. “President Obama continues to disrespect the voters by subverting our duly elected Congress and circumventing federal statute with his recently announced illegal executive orders. We hope that Congress will act swiftly to block the President’s efforts and preserve the second amendment freedoms enjoyed by countless, law-abiding Americans.”

The Saga Over Who Controls LD30 continues this week as two people claim chairmanship to the district.  Last night Bud Zomok, who claims to be the acting chairman of LD30, sent out an e-mail at 8:15 pm., Mon., Jan 4 calling the LD30 Executive Board and a “few invited guests”  to a meeting at his home at 7 pm., Wed., Jan 13 to discuss when and where to hold the next LD30 meeting, when to call for the LD30 election for a new chair and LD30 financial issues.
In the meantime, Chairman Anna Stowe, who was elected the new chairman Nov 18, 2015  by the LD30 precinct committeemen,  sent out an e-mail at 11:54 am., Sat., Dec 12 asking the precinct committeemen for input regarding whether they prefer to meet on a Monday evening or a Saturday morning. Stowe was elected by a precinct committeeman called special election meeting because PCs were upset that Zomok had not called for a special election after he became acting chairman when former LD30 chairman Gary Hirsch resigned the day before a recall meeting was scheduled against him.
After Stowe’s election, the AZGOP announced that its legal beagle had deemed Stowe’s election invalid  See 11-20-15 Briefs archives.mcrcbriefs.org/ However, Andrew Costanzo – the Maricopa County Republican Committee’s liaison to LD30, claims that the election was conducted in accordance with the bylaws. See 12-18-15 Briefs archives.mcrcbriefs.org/  .
Both MCRC Chairman Tyler Bowyer and Zomock claim they did not seek AZGOP advice on the election, leaving PCs wondering why the AZGOP is meddling in Maricopa County Republican issues.

Arrowhead Republican Women First Vice President Jan Martinson: Losing America -- America as we traditionally view it, and as the founders envisioned it, is all but dead. The concepts of “one nation” are silently vanishing. The American melting pot is now the politically correct defense for class segregation. The melting pot analogy worked when the tired and huddled masses assimilated into American fabric of yesteryear. Those masses shed their old world identities and assumed the American identity. Was it perfect? Maybe not, but the concept built a nation that united and became the world’s greatest country.
Now the melting pot does not exist. Newcomers to America hold on to their racial and religious identities. Generational Americans seek to reconnect with theirs. Blurred orientation and gender lines are being redefined. At best, it is a curdled soup in a milky broth. Now this is what I see happening in our country at this time. It is all the rules of the Alinsky Theocracy. These are the eight things he said would create a Social State.
1. Healthcare - Control healthcare and you control the people.
2. Poverty - Increase the Poverty level as high as possible.
3. Debt - increase the debt to an unsustainable level.
4. Gun Control - Remove the ability for the people to defend themselves from Government. That way you can create a police state.
5. Welfare - Take control of every aspect of their lives, food, housing, & income.
6. Education - Take control of what people read and listen to, take control of what children learn in school.
7. Religion - Remove the belief in God from Government and schools.
8. Class Warfare - Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to TAX the wealthy with the support of the poor.
Anyone Can Now See That The Eight Rules Are Now In Play! – Borrowed from the ARW newsletter

CONGRESSIONAL COMMENTS
Please comply with the 300 word limit policy

Congressman Paul A. Gosar after President Obama announced further details of his executive action on gun control at a White House press conference: “The president’s latest partisan attack on the Second Amendment represents the pinnacle in a legacy of lawlessness. Despite his hollow, self-righteous attempts to intimidate law-abiding Americans, his executive order will only result in further gun crime and death. The president’s gun control proposals would not have stopped any of the major shootings which took place this past year. Gun violence is committed by criminals, yet, the focus of this executive order is on restricting the rights of law-abiding citizens. Elements of the executive order will unjustly strip some social security recipients of their second amendment rights. Whether it is blind ignorance or intentional deceit, President Obama’s actions will sabotage the safety of countless Americans in order to score political points with the far-left.
“This unconstitutional executive order violates the separation of powers by creating a new law without the consent of Congress and actually attempts to prosecute American citizens under new mandates that have been rejected by Congress. Republicans and Democrats, along with the American people, have already blocked the president’s gun control proposals three different times. Now, Congress must act again and fulfill its duty to put a stop to this dangerous precedent of executive overreach. I am proud to be leading the charge as an original cosponsor of legislation that will block any executive actions that violate the Second Amendment or infringe on Congress’ Article I responsibilities. As an elected Representative, I will never stop fighting to take back the power of the House from an out-of-control executive branch that represents the single greatest threat to American liberty.”

Congressman Paul Gosar, Congressman Marlin Stutzman (R-IN), and several of their colleagues will introduce the Separation of Powers Restoration and Second Amendment Protection Act. This bill is the House companion to S.2434. The bill prohibits funds from being “used to promulgate or enforce any executive action that infringes on the powers and duties of Congress under section 8 of article I of the Constitution of the United States or the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.” The bill also allows for civil action to be initiated in district courts to challenges executive actions that infringe on these rights. The draft text of the legislation can be found Here.  Gosar has been actively involved in fighting any and all attempts by this Administration to undermine our Constitution and infringe upon the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens. Gosar successfully passed an amendment through the House in June 2015 reversing the ATF ban on 7N6 ammunition, therefore restoring Second Amendment rights and preserving access to affordable ammunition for sporting purposes. The Gosar amendment was supported by the NRA and Gun Owners of America. Click Here to read more.

Congressman Matt Salmon in response to President Obama’s address tothe nation about his proposal to amend gun laws through executive order.  “The President doesn’t seem to understand the nature of a democracy, which was made even clearer at today’s address.   The American people, through our elected representatives, make the laws of the nation.  Presidents don’t have the power to singularly change them when it suits their mood.  That’s not a democracy. The ‘executive actions’ he announced today wouldn’t have done anything to avert the senseless killing in San Bernardino.  To say this speech presented solutions would be an overstatement. Beyond the President’s condescending tone, Americans are no closer to security with these changes (were they legal) than without them. Ironically, while he sidesteps the Constitution like a Central American dictator, the President refuses to enforce our immigration laws and stop the numerous individuals who mean America harm from freely flowing into the nation.  Maybe he should start making America safer by enforcing those laws first.”

Senator John McCain today on President Obama’s executive action on gun control: “President Obama’s executive orders on gun control are just the first of thousands of new unilateral actions that the White House plans to roll out this year that are projected to cost American businesses and consumers hundreds of millions of dollars. With these unconstitutional executive orders, President Obama has once again ignored the separation of powers and disregarded the rule of law. Regardless of merit, this is a classic abuse of executive power. These issues must be debated and decided by the representatives of the people – not by executive fiat. I will continue to uphold my obligation as an elected official in Congress to push back on all of President Obama’s unconstitutional actions.”

Congressman Paul Gosar has been working on legislation to strip comedian Bill Cosby of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and impose criminal penalties for anyone who wers or publicly displays a Presidential Medal of Freedom that has been revoked. The Presidential Medal of Freedom was established in 1963. This prestigious award is bestowed on recipients for “especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.” William Henry “Bill” Cosby, Jr. received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2002.
It is true that there is a presumption of innocence in the American legal system, and rightfully so. While our criminal justice system will ultimately determine whether Cosby serves jail time for the 2004 incident, Montgomery County prosecutors made clear in an Affidavit of Probable Cause and three page Criminal Complaint that Bill Cosby has likely been drugging women for years. During a deposition on September 29, 2005, a lawyer, Dolores Troiani, asked Cosby, “When you got the Quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these Quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?” and Cosby answered “Yes.” In the December 30 charging documents, prosecutors found that “the evidence here demonstrates that the victim’s substantially impaired condition prevented her ability to consent, or even defend herself from Cosby’s sexual assault…[and that] Cosby obtained seven separate prescriptions for Quaaludes that he did not personally ingest, nor ever intended to personally ingest.”

US Senator John McCain, Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman, on Saudi Arabia cutting diplomatic ties with Iran: “Saudi Arabia is one of America's closest and oldest partners and deserves our continued support. Our governments do not agree on every issue, and in the case of the execution of Saudi cleric Nimr Al-Nimr, I believe the United States can question the justice of that action while still standing with our Saudi partners to confront the terrorism of ISIL and its affiliates as well as the aggression and hypocrisy of the Iranian government.
“Iran’s response to al-Nimr’s death has been outrageous and dangerous. Ayatollah Khamenei criticized Saudi Arabia at the same time that the Islamic Republic of Iran oppresses Christian, Jewish, Baha’i, and Muslim minorities; jails journalists, activists, and political opposition figures, including innocent Americans; ranks second in the world in government executions behind only China; threatens to destroy Israel; props up the murderous Assad regime in Syria; and supports terrorist groups in Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Bahrain, and across the region. The Ayatollah’s feigned outrage is yet another example of the Iranian regime’s efforts to manipulate Shiite Muslims across the region to advance its self-serving agenda for power and regional hegemony.
“Tensions between Riyadh and Tehran have been escalating for years, due in no small part to the perception that America is withdrawing from the region. For decades, America’s role in the Middle East has been to suppress security competition between states with long histories of mistrust and to prevent that competition from breaking down into open war. Our allies and partners have entrusted much of their own security to the United States because they have believed that our commitments were credible. But this Administration’s hollow words, imaginary red lines, and leading from behind have steadily eroded that credibility. Increasingly, our allies and partners question America’s commitment to their security, and as a result, are taking matters into their own hands. It is alarming, yet hardly surprising that these fateful decisions could manifest themselves in increased diplomatic tensions, growing regional security competition, new arms races, and possibly nuclear proliferation.”
